‘It’s You’ begins with spiralling piano keys and Anna’s stunning light and airily operatic vocal; then subtle percussion, a stab of strings and fluttering electronics join in. Anna admits to being influenced by a wide range of genres, and in the neo-classical moments and floating ambience this is apparent. Anna calls her style a “patchwork quilt”; embracing the difficulties in describing what she does by focusing on the colours and patterns on display.

The last song she recorded for the EP and professing it to be her favourite, Anna says of the single, “It’s about an intense dream, disappearing into the beautiful, absurd, greedy and painful space of falling in love. I want to convey the beauty in this room, all the images and atmospheres that are born there – but also the vulnerability. The uncertainty that arises when one doesn’t know if the feeling is mutual.”
