The world as she knew shifted on the very week she released what was meant to be the first single of Forgiveness, a project they had all co-written together. Over the years, Annabel has rebuilt herself, finding the strength to embrace life again and now feels ready to share her journey with the world.

Forgiveness is one of the last pieces Ryan & Max worked on, and for Annabel, releasing it is deeply personal: “I just can’t let it disappear away and have nobody hear this work that they were so passionate and excited about. I also feel this sense of responsibility to share more of their gifts with the world”.

Written while longing for England from Los Angeles, Forgiveness serves as a love letter to Annabel’s childhood, her British roots, and the enduring influence of her late father. The first offering, ‘Hotline to Heaven’, holds special significance for the singer—it was originally a reflection of her relationship with her father, Davy Jones, not as the Monkees icon, but as the man she knew. Over time, the song has taken on even deeper meaning, now also intertwined with the loss of Max and Ryan, whose memory continues to inspire the artist.

Speaking about her new track, Annabel says: “’Hotline to Heaven’ is a memory of my somewhat feral childhood in the countryside, spent with someone now gone, who sometimes feels like a dream. I wrote and performed it with my friend Max and late husband Ryan, about my Dad, and then I lost them too. The song became about all of them—about loving and losing them. There was a phone in my house that only my Dad had the number for, and even now, years later, I still wait for it to ring, hoping it could be one of them. That’s what ‘Hotline To Heaven’ is.”
