European (Prague, CZ) modern metal band Stellvris has dropped their latest single, ‘Silence After Violence,’ a searing anthem from their upcoming EP Shatter and Bloom, set to release on November 7. Produced by Christoph Wieczorek (Annisokay, Caskets) at Sawdust Recordings, the track delivers a visceral punch, confronting the rising aggression in society and channeling it into a cathartic, high-voltage experience.

Italian modern metal act Secret Rule presents their new single ‘In The Silence’, the latest chapter leading up to the release of their upcoming album X, out October 24 via Rockshots Records.

Canadian chaos-makers Sumo Cyco are back to prove that “boring” is not in their vocabulary with their new single ‘Boring’, a mix of team vocals, driving riffs, and their signature mash-up of metal, punk, and pop mayhem.

Far from its tame title, ‘Boring’ is a rallying cry for anyone feeling stuck in the grind of daily life. “This song is about the challenge to keep the adventure going in the face of routine and the predictable,” says Skye. “Life can feel like a grind, but we always have the choice to be vibrant and push ourselves outside of our comfort zones.”

Following a few feverishly-received singles, Vegas-based sister duo The Pretty Wild have now announced the details behind their first full-length release, zero.point.genesis. Better yet, they’ve done so by unveiling a genre-obliterating single called ‘PARADOX’ that’s absolutely befitting of the band’s moniker.

The new tune is the band’s fourth original single of 2025, and follows viral smashes like ‘Button Eyes’. As some of their recent work, ‘PARADOX’ presents plenty of cross-pollination, with the tune finding the group’s Jyl and Jules bouncing from melodic croons, to hyper-aggro screams to highly-caffeinated, triplet-spat rap bars. VINTERSEA return with another fantastic new song and video for their latest composition ‘Become The Wave.’ The Portland-based outfit, fronted by new vocalist Kayla Dixon, are currently one of the most inspiring and adventurous groups bubbling under.

“If ‘Celestial Abscission’ was our big bang out of the gate to show the world what VINTERSEA can do with our new vocalist (Kayla Dixon), ‘Become the Wave’ is a statement about where VINTERSEA is headed and what we want our music to represent,” states guitarist Riley Nix. “In some ways it is a return to form – melodic, brutal, groovy, and inspiring – but it is also different from anything you have heard from us before. Kayla brought huge energy, heartfelt performances, and some really unique tones that drove the song in a fresh direction from the outset.”

“I am super excited for people to scope out the video for ‘Become the Wave.’ We built a unique set in my garage, explored epic locations at the Oregon Coast, and tried a few things we have never done before,” explains Karl. “This is classic VINTERSEA, but with some new moves. Arch Enemy is doing the whole “release a bunch of new songs as part of a deluxe version of their latest album” thing with the digital deluxe edition of Blood Dynasty. The new version of the record features ‘Break the Spell’, ‘Moths’, and ‘Lachrymatory’; the first of which you can stream right now. It’s certainly a song by Arch Enemy in 2025.

AS EVERYTHING UNFOLDS have released a brand new music video. The new single, titled ‘POINT OF VIEW,’ is the second track to be released following the UK post-hardcore band’s recent signing to Century Media Records. It follows on from ‘SET IN FLOW,’ which was released back in June.

Speaking about the new single, vocalist Charlie Rolfe shares, “you give everything you have, your whole being, your whole life, to help someone but it’s never enough if they don’t want to help themselves. I really struggled to understand how someone close to me couldn’t see my point of view in the awful situation we were in. They were angry when I helped, they were angry when I gave them space, they were angry when I stayed, they were angry when I left.”

She continues, “it destroyed my confidence and my self worth having to live in an environment where nothing I ever did was good enough. It hurts deeply to watch what can only be described as a car crash in slow motion, being unable to stop it but just having the strength to walk away and value your own mental health, your own sanity helped me gain back a small amount of those parts of me I lost. I really hope that some day, that person can listen to this song, and truly understand what it was like to be in that situation from my point of view.”

Welsh four-piece Dream State have released their new single ‘Bloom’. The track marks the band’s first new music since their EP Still Dreaming, which was self-released earlier this year, and coincides with their UK headline tour. Arch Enemy is now streaming the fairly thrashy (and occasionally catchy) new single ‘Liars & Thieves’, which also serves as the closer for their upcoming record Blood Dynasty. Dianne van Giersbergen, former Xandria vocalist, has released a video for her latest single, ‘Flameborn.’ The track is taken from her upcoming album Soulward Bound, which she is releasing under her own name, Dianne. Produced by Joost van den Broek (Powerwolf, Epica, Ayreon), each song on the album features a renowned guest musician. ‘Flameborn’ is a symphonic metal anthem, blending haunting vocals, orchestral melodies, heavy riffing, and double bass. It tells an autobiographical story about restoring a lost friendship, dedicated to Steven Wussow (ex-Xandria), who also plays bass on the track. The song features Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion, Ayreon, MaYaN), whose operatic vocals combine seamlessly with Dianne’s. Dianne comments: “‘Flameborn’ is an autobiographical story about restoring a lost friendship. Wargasm are back with not one but two new songs, ‘Circle Pit’ and ‘Bad Seeds,’ their first releases since this summer’s collaborative single with Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, ‘70% Dead.’ True to form, the new tracks find the U.K. electro-punk duo — comprised to Milkie Way and Sam Matlock — in hyperkinetic, fuck-the-world form. Leeds crosssover thrashers Pest Control turned a lot of heads last year with Don’t Test The Pest, a fiery debut LP that caused one reviewer to claim “not since Power Trip has the marriage of thrash and hardcore been as pertinent as it is here.” Now, the Leeds band is keeping the momentum going with a new EP, Year of the Pest, due next week (10/25) via Quality Control/Triple B. It’s got four songs, two of which are out now, and they’re both rippers. Picking up where the LP left off, it’s got fast punk energy, devil-horn-worthy riffage, and the impassioned screams of vocalist Leah Massey-Hay leading the charge. [via Brooklyn Vegan]

Brighton’s electronic post-hardcore duo fakeyourdeath have today released a brand-new A/B side – the follow up to the pairs debut EP null/void. The A/B side features the vicious new single ‘Hello, I’m Feeling Hostile’ and it’s haunting B-side ‘The Was Actually Quite Murderous’ both of which look towards the pain humans inflict on each other to serve themselves; a subject fakeyourdeath find fascinating but always unsurprising. “‘Hello, I’m Feeling Hostile’ is an important track for me both musically & emotionally”, opens fakeyourdeath vocalist Candi Underwood. “At its core, it’s the outpouring of the grief, anger and disgust you feel when those closest to you betray you. Finnish melodic metal band Unén proudly unveil their first official single and video, ‘My Love’s Broken’. “After countless disappointments in relationships, one becomes numb and cold… There is nothing left to give to another person, and yet the endless search for the perfect person continues. It’s always easier to leave everything behind and start anew”, says singer Stina Girs about the song. The band describes the concept behind the video: “The main character starts sculpting a vision of perfection, only to shatter it, symbolizing the disappointments in love and relationships. Piece by piece, she starts tearing it apart. Talented Brazilian Rock band Malvada unveil their new single and video, ‘Down The Walls’, out now via Frontiers Music Srl. Talking about the single, singer Indira Castilho says “’Down the walls’ is a song that describes a relationship based on lies and psychological control. It tells about a situation that many women go through but that is never discussed. The music aims to show the reality, alert women and bring courage to face this situation”. “The riffs are very heavy, rhythmic and connected to the drums”, adds guitarist Bruna Tsuruda. Drummer Juliana Salgado describes it as “a strong music, with strong guitar riffs and drum beats”, while bassist Rafaela Reoli states “I think it’s the perfect song to introduce Malvada to the world”.

Rap metal sensation Sicksense – featuring vocalists Vicky Psarakis (ex-The Agonist) and Robby J. Fonts (Stuck Mojo) – have released their new single, ‘On Repeat’. Check out the official video below. The band’s Earache Records debut, Cross Me Twice, will be released on February 14, 2025.

Arch Enemy have unveiled their first new music since their acclaimed 2022 album, Deceivers, by surprise releasing the new single and video ‘Dream Stealer.’ The veteran extreme metal band’s guitarist Michael Amott stated, “First new Arch Enemy song we release in a little while and it feels good to be back! It was a blast working on ‘Dream Stealer’ in the studio, this song just has the high energy and twisted atmosphere that makes it so fun to play! Crank it up, loud and heavy! Metal is immortal!” After a haunting instrumental intro, singer Alissa White-Gluz kicks off the vocals with a monster scream, and goes full guttural for the rest of the powerful track. FUTURE PALACE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Decarabia,’ is taken from the German post-hardcore band’s upcoming new album, Distortion, which is scheduled to be released in September this year, via Arising Empire. The band have dedicated the new single to the relationships of people who are suffering from mental illnesses. The picture the band paints of this difficult circumstance is engagingly complex and asks fundamental questions: How much can we help the loved ones around us when we ourselves are already dealing with so many of our own demons? How can we not be alone in our struggles when at the same time we see how it becomes too much for our counterpart? “It’s not just bad if you yourself lose joy in life. It hurts all the more when you find out that a loved person has to deal with it,” vocalist Maria Lessing explains, reporting on experiences that come from her own life. “It’s a struggle to try to support someone when you need all your strength to be able to function. Just over a month out from Jinjer’s next U.S. tour, the Ukrainian prog-metal crushers have dropped a surprise single that may well pop into their upcoming setlists. The song, titled ‘Someone’s Daughter,’ arrives as a percussively punishing, and spirit-empowering battle anthem. The studio track finds the act once again needling into precision drum battery, bassist Eugene Kostyuk’s slippery fretwork, and vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk’s cascade of immaculate melodies and rumbling death-growls. The music video, which you can see below, mixes performance footage with CGI landscapes. With its lyrics themed around cutting a signature path in the world as a woman, Shmayluk also gets into character while seemingly dressing up as iconic figures like chemist Marie Curie or Egyptian ruler Cleopatra. “´Someone’s Daughter´ is an artistic attempt to cast the light on the inner world of women, who in various scenarios and circumstances, have had to choose a path that was historically made by men,” the singer said in a statement. “In a world where women are often underestimated and overlooked, they are still powerful heroes who navigate hardship with strength and resilience, unapologetically becoming themselves and breaking barriers in the face of the challenges that face them. ‘Someone’s Daughter’ celebrates transitions from naivety into wisdom, weakness into force, unwavering determination, and fearlessness as our mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives walk through adversity and fight for better change. Criminal activity and psychology has been at the forefront of SKYND’s music from the start, observing the bleakest and most horrific aspects of the human condition through musical and lyrical examinations of true crimes and their impact on the victims and society. Marking the duo’s second single of 2024, ‘Violets are Blue’ looks at the 2012 murder of Jun Lin by Luka Magnotta, with Skynd and Father saying that the case points out the severity of mental health issues and the importance of recognizing and addressing them before they lead to violence, as well as the ethical responsibilities of the media and the criminal justice system. Jun Lin was an international student at Concordia University in Montreal, studying computer engineering; he was stabbed and dismembered by Luka Rocco Magnotta, who mailed parts of Lin’s body to schools and political party offices, as well as posted videos online depicting the murder – this has led to him being referred to as an “Internet Killer.” Magnotta was arrested in Berlin less than a month later, and was sentenced two years later to life and an additional 19 years for other charges such as sexual assault, animal abuse, and public obscenity – during his trial, issues of his mental stability were raised, including diagnoses of schizophrenia and several personality disorders. As Lin was a gay man, SKYND has also pointed out the purpose of ‘Violets are Blue’ to discuss the impact such crimes have on the LGBTQ+ community. “This case brought attention to issues of violence within the community and the unique vulnerabilities faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and it therefore felt very important for me to explore,” Skynd says, pointing out the importance of standing up for diversity in the band’s music. Italian metal masters Lacuna Coil have unveiled a new single titled ‘Hosting the Shadow’ featuring guest vocals from Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe. The song marks another new stand-alone single from Lacuna Coil, who earlier this year unveiled the track ‘In the Mean Time’ featuring New Years Day singer Ash Costello. While Lacuna Coil are already known for their dual vocal attack from Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro, Blythe takes the band’s sound to a new extreme. After an extended instrumental intro, the Lamb of God singer’s voice is heard first on the song, as he delivers his signature growl in the verses, where he is eventually joined by Ferro. Scabbia’s clean singing then arrives in the melodic chorus. “‘Hosting the Shadow’ is a trip through light and dark, where silence reveals its hidden secrets,” stated Lacuna Coil. “Obscure moments can become occasions to evolve, to learn to master one’s own shadow — which is crucial in order to prevail. Randy Blythe did an incredible job on this track, we absolutely adore his voice and his evil laugh!” The band continued, “Our admiration for him is infinite and to have him as a guest on this song is a dream come true. Stand Atlantic have shared a new single, ‘FRENEMIES’. The new track explores the theme of complicated friendships, as lead singer Bonnie Fraser explains: “FRENEMIES is about rocky friendships and not knowing where you stand with someone. Blacklab are back. The self-proclaimed ‘Doom witch, duo from Osaka’ are set to drop their third album In A Bizarre Dream this summer (August 19). Yuko has said before that the band’s name is a combination of her two favourite bands, Black Sabbath and Stereolab. Odd bedfellows to be sure, but if you want to know what that combination might sound like … here it is. ‘Crows, Sparrows and Cats’ actually features Laetitia Sadier of Stereolab, no less, providing the lead vocal, adding a layer of cool over Blacklab’s Hawkwind meets krautrock sludge. It’s a stoner groove with pop at its heart …Sludge Pop even, a surprising gem amongst the maelstrom of sound around it.

Japanese critically acclaimed Symphonic Metal sensation HETEROGENEOUS ANDEAD are proud to release their official video for ‘Fission’, a track taken from the band’s newly released album CHAOTIC FRAGMENTS.

US rock giants Icon For Hire share heaviest single to date, ‘Breakdown’, taken from their upcoming album The Reckoning due for release on September 9 via Kartel Music Group. The writing process for ‘Breakdown’ has been a more collaborative effort, explains lead singer and songwriter Ariel Bloomer ; “I had the hook line “I’m always up for a breakdown” in my notebook for years and wanted to do something with it. Vocally I go harder here than usual. Shawn and I collaborated on a lot of the lyrical themes on this song, which we’ve been doing more of lately. It’s usually a painful process for my control freak self but Shawn led the construction of this song. He asked what lyrical concepts I had, and then laid out the bones of the song and helped me write around his structure”.

StormbounD, symphonic metal from Israel, have been hard at work to deliver their debut album December and now with the release of their fourth single, it is almost time for the album’s long-awaited release. The single ‘Child’s Play’ is one of nine precisely woven stories that reflect on real-world experiences set to fantastical music. The band explains in their own words: “The lyrics on the album tell some interesting stories, some more personal and some global, convey some harsh messages and themes, and deliver a wide array of emotions. Next month, Arch Enemy will at long last release their highly anticipated new album, Deceivers, which they’ve been teasing with a series of impressive singles since last fall. Across the smattering of previews, we’ve heard the Swedish melodeath progenitors channel the NWOBHM sound of Judas Priest, lean into their thrashy side and embrace their heavy death-metal roots, and new single, ‘In the Eye of the Storm,’ is a little bit of everything. It’s got a big-ass lead riff, a stompy mid-tempo rhythm, and a chorus that’s catchy and excoriating thanks to Alissa White-Gluz’s viciously snarling vocal delivery. [via Revolver]

Nu-metal upstart Cinnamon Babe, the solo project from Stormi Maya, has set TikTok ablaze with a clip from the music video for her new single, ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Is Black,’ where she declares, “I’m taking my culture back” and points to rock’s origins in Black culture. In a press release, the Cinnamon Babe leader explains, “I made the song ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Is Black’ in response to all the people who seem to have forgotten the founders of this genre of music — African Americans such as Ike Turner, Bo Diddley, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Little Richard and Chuck Berry. And before you say, ‘Okay, Black people may have made rock ‘n’ roll, but metal is white blah blah… I credit the invention of metal to Jimi Hendrix and blues.” [via Metal Injection]

The Mendenhall Experiment is now streaming their new single ‘Pulse Of The Lost.’ The single features Suicide Silence guitarist Chris Garza and serves as the introduction of the project’s new vocalist Alyce Hayes. “‘Pulse Of The Lost’ to me is a musical representation of how society can repress into a state of darkness, and your personal choice to either live and die there or band together with those around you and rise out of it with a positive mindset,” said project mastermind Brandon Mendenhall. “”The lyrics in ‘Pulse of the Lost’ are a rally cry for individuality,” added Hayes. “We don’t need to fit into some special ‘box’ of identity, and this song is a big middle finger to the people who try to do this to us. Escuela Grind will release their brand new LP Memory Theater September 30 via the MNRK Heavy label, also the home of united spirits such as High on Fire and Crowbar. An official video for the first single, ‘Cliffhanger,’ is also now streaming. Escuela Grind has got moxie one would die slow and painfully for, and truly is the stuff of envy. They’re young, and unquestionably hungry on ‘Cliffhanger,’ as the grind is hot as steel, and that ain’t just some clever pun. These upstarts bring it raw and ragged, Massachusetts basement show-style. One listen and you’re going to be tempted break something valuable in a stranger’s home, I promise you. About the track, vocalist Katerina Economou has said “‘Cliffhanger’ is us branching out and including all of our influences into a heavy, danceable song. It’s a perfect representation of all the new things to expect from Escuela Grind. The lyrics are about the people that try to play both sides of the fence… and drag you down with them. The Sacramento-based quintet Graveshadow – who deftly mixes symphonic/gothic metal with elements of doom, thrash and epic progressive power metal – have unveiled ‘The Swordsman,’ the latest single from their forthcoming album, The Uncertain Hour. The band’s third album will be released July 15. ‘The Swordsman’ is also special as it features guest vocals from Chelsea Murphy (Dawn of Ouroboros, Cailleach Calling, Tegmentum). “I’m really excited to release ‘The Swordsman’ which has kind of snuck up on me as another favorite off the record, explains vocalist Rachl “Raxx” Quinn. “The interplay of the clean and harsh vocals was something I was thrilled with the outcome on. The way they support each other really adds a great dynamic to the song. As a band it was great to have Chelsea guest on the track, her performance is absolutely incredible!”

WARGASM announce their debut mixtape Explicit coming soon via slowplay/Republic Records. To celebrate the project’s announcement, Wargasm share the lead single ‘D.R.I.L.D.O’. with accompanying music video. The new track flitters between electronic and heavy metal as WARGASM give us a taste of what’s to come next. ‘D.R.I.L.D.O’ features a nocturnal bassline as Milkie leads us into a false sense of sultry security before Sam counters with his signature vocals and a fiery guitar riff to match. Speaking on the track “It’s a good bridge between the two elements of Wargasm, which are super fun, sexy, and electronic and also fresh and metal,” Sam continues. “You can clearly hear the both of us. We want there to be two characters in the music. You should have a favourite.”

Eternal Frequency has released a music video for their song ‘A.I.’. The clip is the second installment in the band’s Matrix-esque video series that kicked off with ‘Step Up’. They had this to say about the new video, “Drawing inspiration from cult classic films such as The Matrix, Blade Runner, and The Fifth Element, ‘AI’ offers a chaotic cinematic viewing experience and a look into the future, creating a high-intensity, action-packed visual.” Frontwoman Emelle shared, “‘A.I’ is the second installment of our epic trilogy and this picks up where ‘Step Up’ left off. ‘A.I.’ brings up the unavoidable challenge that every artist will eventually face and that is someone who is not part of your camp telling you what they think is best for you. Conquer Divide have released the official music video for the band’s lead single from their upcoming new studio album. The song, ‘Atonement,’ was premiered by Sirius XM’s “Octane”. Guitarist Kristen Sturgis shares, “The song touches on feelings of regret, which we tried to convey in the video. You can see one of our other music videos in the reflection of the eye, for example. They’re watching the time tick by wondering what their life could have been like if they would have toughed it out and put the work in. The hardest things in life are the most rewarding, and life is short. So, if you’re not ready to meet us on our level, then get out of the way.” Drummer Sam Landa adds, “The word atonement is about making reparations; about seeking forgiveness; about feeling sorry for something you’ve done and hoping to make things right. In the context of this song, it’s too late for that – the damage has already been done and there’s no going back. The song tries to capture the feelings of betrayal, of being left high and dry by people who wanted to take the easy way out. The emotions really explode in the breakdown, and the progression mirrors how situations like this can build up in real life. There’s a kind of calm before the storm, and then another sense of calm after. ‘We don’t know who you are’, and we’ve accepted that – just don’t try to come back and beg for forgiveness when you’ve exhausted all of your chances.” [via All About the Rock]

We’re still a couple months out from Arch Enemy releasing their new album, Deceivers, but the Swedish melodeath troupe are back to tide us over with a crushing new single titled ‘Sunset Over the Empire.’ Compared to the Judas Priest-esque ‘Handshake With Hell’ and the galloping ‘House of Mirrors,’ this track is more in-line with the band’s death-metal origins — no clean vocals, no moody experimentation, just skull-crushing riffs and demonic vocals from frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz. “This is a faster song with some manic riffs and a relentless beat that I can envision becoming a ‘hit in the pit,'” said songwriter Michael Ammott. “Lyrically, it’s sadly one of those that seems to ring more true with each and every passing day nowadays…’Words turned to war, brother fighting brother, another false truce, as the people die.'” [via Revolver]

Blackwater Drowning is now streaming ‘Aberrant Leaves’ off their new album Sonder//Satori. If you’re in the mood for a song that’ll kick you right in the teeth and then never stop (think somewhere between Behemoth and Jinjer), and then this one is for you. “This song is about corruption in places of power, and the dichotomy that lies there,” said the band. “An entity that’s supposed to protect and serve you, using you for their own ends to further their own narrative. We worked with the fabulously creative Garrett Barefoot for this video, as he was also a major part of the recording process of this entire album and really understood what our mindset for this track is. We wrote the chorus in the studio with Jon Berrier, our amazing producer, hopped up on energy drinks at about 2am one night, and it’s one of our favorites on the album!
