“’My Pastor’ was written for my inner child, who is still in hiding because of what I was forced to believe my whole life,” they share on the track. “In this song, I wanted to convey how lonely and confusing forced religion can be. I could never verbalize my feelings about the hateful things I was taught, and how it affected me. Now that I am free from the people who forced me to be someone else, I wanted to write a song, not only for my inner child, but for anyone who has, or still is, experiencing religious abuse.”
