Canadian metal outfit Juliet Ruin has dropped their electrifying second single and music video ‘Reactance Theory,’ off their upcoming EP Regime, set to release November 7. Known for their genre-fluid blend of chunky riffs, soaring melodies, and emotionally raw lyricism, Juliet Ruin is back with what may be their most collaborative and high-energy track to date.

​‘Reactance Theory’ explores the psychological concept coined by Jack Brehm, which explains why people resist threats to their personal freedom. The song dives into the dopamine-fueled impulses that drive rebellion, wrapped in a belted, catchy vocal performance that came together in a moment of serendipity. Vocalist Jess Fleming mistook the verses for the chorus during the writing process, resulting in a track that’s relentlessly energetic from start to finish.

​“This song came together with a lot of input from each member. Wes brought in the initial hook guitar lead, and we built it piece by piece. It’s probably one of the most collaboratively written songs we’ve ever done,” says the band.

IVY CROWN have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘This Delusion,’ is the brand new single from the Danish metalcore band and marks their first new music since 2019’s Echo.

The new single was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen [VOLBEAT, AMARANTHE, EPICA] at Hansen Studios. It features a collaboration with Helle Bohdanova, vocalist of the Ukrainian metal band IGNEA, and marks a new era for the band with Maja Shining [FOREVER STILL, MYRKUR] joining as the band’s new vocalist.

Speaking about the new single, vocalist Maja Shining from the band shares, “Helle has been a good friend over the years, so when we had the conversation about features for the album, I immediately knew that she was the right choice. THE PRETTY WILD have released a brand-new single. The new track, titled ‘AFTERLIFE,’ features MAGNOLIA PARK and is taken from the band’s upcoming debut album zero.point.genesis, which is scheduled to be released on November 21 via Sumerian Records.

Speaking about the new single, the band says, “’AFTERLIFE’ circles the idea of star-crossed souls bound by something ancient and unbreakable. AD INFINITUM have released a brand new music video. The Swiss/German modern metal unit have unveiled ‘Regicide,’ a new single released just ahead of their very first European headline tour.

ENTHEOS have released a brand new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Empty On The Inside,’ is a standalone single from the American progressive death metal band and is their first new music since their latest EP, An End To Everything, which was released in October last year, via Metal Blade Records. UK metal band, Cage Fight – Rachel Aspe (vocals), James Monteith (guitar), Nick Plews (drums) and Will Horsman (bass) – have released new single, ‘PIG.’ 

On ‘Pig’, Rachel calls out the creepy men who send women unsolicited messages online. The video includes real messages sent directly to Rachel and to other women that volunteered the inclusion of their experiences.

Letters Sent Home have released a brand new music video. The new track, titled ‘Focus,’ is the latest offering from the German alternative rock quartet and follows on from their previous single, ‘Bloom,’ which was released back in July. Speaking about the song, vocalist Emily Paschke explains, “we all know that one person who always seems to have it worse than everyone else – at least in their own eyes. Focus is about ending a friendship with that person because being around them has become too exhausting. And in this song, we’re not heartbroken or hurt. Evanescence’s Amy Lee has teamed up with Poppy and Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante on a new song titled ‘End of You.’ The track is accompanied by a cinematic music video.

The three artists had been teasing the single in the days leading up its release, and the payoff is an epic track that shines the spotlight on all three vocalists.

Lee gets the song started with the initial verses and the soaring chorus, giving off an Evanescence-meets-James-Bond-theme vibe. Poppy then sings the next set of verses in a clean voice, giving way to Lee again for the second chorus. Brighton’s self-defined ‘Brat Metal’ trio Eville, made up of singer/guitarist Eva Sheldrake, bassist/singer/producer Jude Richards, and drummer Milo Hemsley, have announced their debut EP BRAT METAL, set for release on October 17. The announcement is made ahead of the band’s hotly-anticipated appearance at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival.

Portland’s Dying Wish specialize in a particularly brutal form of metalcore. Emma Boster can actually sing when she isn’t bringing the hellfire beast-roars, and the band really steers into that ability on their new song ‘I’ll Know You’re Not Around,’ the lead single from the upcoming LP Flesh Stays Together. The heavy parts feel heavier because of the ominous beauty in Boster’s voice, and when the breakdown comes in, they bring it.

Flesh Stays Together follows Dying Wish’s 2023 album Symptoms Of Survival, as well as ‘I Brought You My Soul (Your World Brought Me Despair),’ the one-off single that came out earlier this year. Dying Wish recorded Flesh Stays Together with Knocked Loose collaborator Will Putney, and ‘I’ll Know You’re Not Around’ has a lot of that band’s sincere guttural lurch. Dying Wish already tour big rooms, but if the rest of the record sounds like this, I could see them following Knocked Loose into even bigger ones.

Dying Wish member Pedro Carrillo co-directed the ‘I’ll Know You’re Not Around’ video with Eric Richter, and it’s got all the bloody theatricality that you’d hope.

UK metal outfit CAGE FIGHT have released a brand new single. Titled ‘IHYG (I Hate Your Guts)’, the new track marks the band’s first new music since the release of their self-titled debut album, which was released back in May 2022, via Candlelight Records. The song features deeply personal lyrics from vocalist Rachel Aspe, detailing a bleak and traumatic experience. The new music video was directed by Shaun Hodson (Loki Films).

AILSHA has released her debut EP Good Looking Girl, Awful Music.

The three song EP includes previously released singles ‘Hot Girls’ and ‘Press Start’, as well as the EP’s title track ‘Good Looking Girl, Awful Music’, billed as AILSHA’s “heaviest track to date.”

“This EP contains my best songs yet, songs that spill my story as an artist, and make it clear that I’m not going anywhere,” said AILSHA. She added that the project’s title “comes from a comment someone left on one of my videos last year.”

Daedric continues the march toward their sophomore album with the release of their latest single, ‘Alien Skin.’

A pure metalcore adrenaline rush, ‘Alien Skin’ was an early favorite and a must-have for the album. Originally written in 2019, it let Daedric’s live members Trevor (drums) and Dylan (guitar) shine, scratching the band’s metal itch with raw intensity.

“Lyrically, I had written this one after watching the movie Dark City from the ’90s,” Kristyn Hope explains. The song draws inspiration from the 1998 sci-fi film Dark City, exploring paranoia, self-doubt, and reality distortion. The protagonist questions whether they’ve committed a terrible crime, mirroring the film’s eerie world where unseen forces manipulate reality. The pre-chorus introduces a sinister voice whispering doubt: “You’re not going to be okay,” adding to the song’s unsettling atmosphere.

Musically, ‘Alien Skin’ marked a shift for Daedric, introducing gritty, belted vocals for the first time. The chorus, instead of exploding with energy, takes a hauntingly restrained approach, amplifying the song’s tension. This track also connects directly to ‘Dreamweaver,’ which expands on its themes of paranoia and inescapable nightmares.

The new music video, for the track ‘Last Goodbye’, is the brand new single from the Finnish power metal band and marks their first new music since 2022’s Circus Of Doom. The new single gives a first glimpse into the band’s upcoming new album, information of which will be unveiled in due course.

Speaking about the new single, bassist Eero Sipilä shares, “the spark for ‘Last Goodbye’ was lit in the least rock ’n roll place imaginable: a hospital. In 2020, I spent a few weeks there and met an older woman battling cancer—a fight she’d been waging on and off since 1985. It made me wonder: how much can a person take before they give up? But she never did. She kept showing up, kept pushing through the treatments, kept being around. Last Goodbye is a tribute to that human fighting spirit—the will to rise every time life knocks you down. As long as you’re breathing, you’re still in the game.”

THE PRETTY WILD have released a brand new song. The new song, titled ‘Omens,’ is the brand new single from the Las Vegas-based metalcore sister duo and follows on from their previous single, button eyes, which was released back in March.

Speaking about the new song, Jyl from the band shares, “’Omens’ is an anthem for those done performing. Our song calls out the masks we all are subconsciously conditioned to wear to survive in life and the tragic loops they lead us into. It’s about finally choosing inner truth over applause, and the painful realisation that to find true coherence, the mask must be ripped off, along with the life, lies, and illusions built around it.”
