Alabama’s very own princess of rap Flo Milli announces her second studio album, Fine Ho, Stay set for release via RCA Records later this summer. To coincide with the announcement, she shares the album’s first single and visual for ‘Fruit Loop.’ The hard-hitting track, produced by YoungFyre (who is known for producing her hit ‘Conceited’) exudes the unrelenting confidence that has become a Flo Milli signature. The boisterous visual is directed by Chandler Lass (Latto, Ari Lennox).

Ice Spice has dropped the official video for her new single ‘Deli.’ The video was filmed in a Hamilton Heights, Manhattan corner store, with the Bronx MC rapping as she makes her her way through the aisles, flanked by dancers who use fridges filled with luridly colored drinks as a backdrop. In anticipation of the kick off of her August ‘Talk To Me Nice’ tour, Sa-Roc has today shared her song of the same name and the first single from her forthcoming album. ‘Talk To Me Nice,’ continues the tradition of Sa-Roc sharing a deep connection with her audience, with poise, tenacity and masterful skill. The new single, produced by Sol Messiah, takes a more assertive tone, as she focuses on challenging the industry while demanding respect from it. The sparse, yet menacing track centers Sa-Roc’s voice, showcasing her dextrous wordplay, natural wit and agility. Sa-Roc has also shared the official video for ‘Talk To Me Nice,’ with the visuals engaging with light and shadow in stark contrasts to symbolize the decentering and marginalization she and many others have experienced in life. The video, directed by David Maxwell, features guest appearances from dancer Storyboard P and members of the art collective Art Comes First, and notably incorporates Afro-punk aesthetics as well the jewelry and motifs of many Black, African and Indigenous cultures, as a symbolic nod to those cultures that have long countered the prevailing social narrative. It’s the beginning of a new era for JT of City Girls. After sharing her solo single ‘No Bars,’ she’s already garnered much buzzy for her quick-witted punchlines and fiery flows. Now, she has shared the video for her viral new track. In the video, she is seen dancing behind blue bars, rocking matching hair and a hoodie. This is juxtaposed with clips of JT partying and meeting fans across London and Paris, emphasizing the she and City Girls have become a worldwide sensation. Haviah Mighty is back with a new single, ‘Huh,’ a dancey, breakup track which places the Canadian rapper’s knack for emotional expression at the center of a ready-for-the-club beat. Taking stylistic cues from dancehall, ‘Huh’ balances Haviah’s hard-hitting flow with moments of bubbling, rhythmic goodness. Trina really deserves more. The Miami icon has been so good for so long, that it seems as though her consistency gets her overlooked. She’s also well-known for extending her platform to younger female rappers, blessing them with both her encouragement and her cosign. Fortunately, it seems at least some of the popular ladies she’s assisted remember her help and are willing to return the favor. On her latest single, ‘Clap,’ Trina reunites with Latto for a frenzied strip club anthem that finds the two rappers playing femme fatale, stressing both their beauty and their danger. I guess you could say that the song’s a warning that looks kill. In her verse, Latto goes from demanding a check for her attention to threatening, “If I reach inside this Birkin, bitch, you better duck.” On the energetic hook, the two encourage their strip club counterparts to make their backsides clap to make that money. New 10 track project tabula rasa is more considered as a result, matching the raucous Southern hip-hop she grew up with alongside what she terms “swag music…” A project that embodies personal evolution, tabula rasa is marked by a search for truth. Rico Nasty released her excellent album Nightmare Vacation at the end of 2020, and since then, she’s been steadily cranking out one-off singles: ‘Magic,’ ‘Buss,’ the Flo Milli collab ‘Money.’ Rico, who performed with Doja Cat at Coachella this past weekend, is reportedly gearing up to release a new mixtape. Now, she’s dropped another new single, a collaboration with ascendant Atanta rapper Bktherula. Rico has a bunch of different styles, and the new track ‘Vaderz’ returns her to the frantic, punk-influenced SoundCloud rap that helped make her famous in the first place. The song jams a whole lot of jagged energy into two minutes, and Rico and Bktherula have great on-record chemistry. The two of them trade off lines, matching each other’s energy and lining up with each other’s punchlines.
