Lake Malice unleash their “dark pop-metal takedown of vanity and nepotism in the music scene”. Already a live favourite, ‘Nobody Wants To Be You’ embraces vocalist Alice Guala’s sassy Italian flair, calling out the superficial, nepotistic and self-obsessed. In a system where meritocracy feels absent, Lake Malice channel their frustrations through industrial rhythms and choruses exploding with energy. ‘Nobody Wants To Be You’ is a metal-core weapon, serving as a cathartic scream against industry fakery. The track exemplifies Guala’s vocal prowess, as she seamlessly shifts between pure, soaring melody and guttural aggression. ‘Nobody Wants To Be You’ was produced by Lake Malice guitarist extraordinaire Blake Cornwall, alongside Jon Cass, mixed by Carl Bown and mastered by Ste Kerry. The accompanying music video, directed by Zak Pinchin, is a dark and highly stylised affair, complete with the backup dancers who we’ve seen grace the stage with Malice this summer.

Canadian metal outfit Juliet Ruin has dropped their electrifying second single and music video ‘Reactance Theory,’ off their upcoming EP Regime, set to release November 7. Known for their genre-fluid blend of chunky riffs, soaring melodies, and emotionally raw lyricism, Juliet Ruin is back with what may be their most collaborative and high-energy track to date.

‘Reactance Theory’ explores the psychological concept coined by Jack Brehm, which explains why people resist threats to their personal freedom. The song dives into the dopamine-fueled impulses that drive rebellion, wrapped in a belted, catchy vocal performance that came together in a moment of serendipity. Vocalist Jess Fleming mistook the verses for the chorus during the writing process, resulting in a track that’s relentlessly energetic from start to finish.

“This song came together with a lot of input from each member. Wes brought in the initial hook guitar lead, and we built it piece by piece. It’s probably one of the most collaboratively written songs we’ve ever done,” says the band.

The accompanying music video amplifies the song’s themes with visceral visuals and dynamic performance shots, capturing the band’s signature live energy and studio-tight execution.

EVA UNDER FIRE return with the riveting and demon-conquering ‘Awakening.’ Out now, it’s the first taste of new music in two years from the Detroit, MI quintet, signaling perhaps that this could be the start of a new album campaign.

‘Awakening’ is a blistering and inspirational anthem from Amanda Lyberg (vocals), Rob Lyberg (lead guitar), Chris Slapnik (rhythm guitar), Ed Gawlik (bass), and Dave Miller II (drums). “The guys and I are stoked about the upcoming album,” proclaims Amanda, whose gutsy vocals spectacularly cut through the raging guitars. “These songs are everything we wanted to write. We made sure it was the most honest version of our story. ‘Awakening’ is an anthem about conquering personal demons. The rest of the album is what it took to get there. It’s also a story packaged in the heaviest riffs we’ve ever played so I think listeners will be pleasantly surprised. Cheers to the new era!”

IVY CROWN have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘This Delusion,’ is the brand new single from the Danish metalcore band and marks their first new music since 2019’s Echo.

The new single was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen [VOLBEAT, AMARANTHE, EPICA] at Hansen Studios. It features a collaboration with Helle Bohdanova, vocalist of the Ukrainian metal band IGNEA, and marks a new era for the band with Maja Shining [FOREVER STILL, MYRKUR] joining as the band’s new vocalist.

Speaking about the new single, vocalist Maja Shining from the band shares, “Helle has been a good friend over the years, so when we had the conversation about features for the album, I immediately knew that she was the right choice. I could already hear her powerful growls when I wrote the vocal parts for ‘This Delusion’.”

Finnish heavy metal sensation BATTLE BEAST proudly release their seventh studio album, Steelbound — an electrifying and highly anticipated record that marks a bold new chapter for the band.

To mark the release, BATTLE BEAST have also unveiled a brand-new music video for ‘Twilight Cabaret’, offering fans another glimpse into the vibrant world of Steelbound.

Daedric are getting closer to the Light. The Texas metalcore adventurists are about to release their sophomore LP, As the Light Left, and the band teamed with Revolver to premiere the collection’s fearless first track, ‘The Other Terror,’ along with its striking music video.

The new song follows recent singles ‘Sand Tiger’ and ‘Undone,’ and while some of the album previews thus far have taken on turntable-twisting flavors of early nu-metal, ‘The Other Terror’ contorts itself through a concussively modern arrangement.

Above the world-imploding drum kicks and darkly detuned riffage, vocalist Kristyn Hope weaponizes melodic rasps and monstrous bleghs as dangerous as the “blades” in her mouth — and certainly the big straight sword she’s brandishing in the video (“I think I’ve killed now”).

THE PRETTY WILD have released a brand-new single. The new track, titled ‘AFTERLIFE,’ features MAGNOLIA PARK and is taken from the band’s upcoming debut album zero.point.genesis, which is scheduled to be released on November 21 via Sumerian Records.

Speaking about the new single, the band says, “’AFTERLIFE’ circles the idea of star-crossed souls bound by something ancient and unbreakable. Conceptually it’s plucked from the kind of love you find in mythology and old tragedies, where you have this obsessive devotion and destruction. It isn’t perfect, but it’s dark, beautiful, and eternal.”

Adding to this, Jyl shares, “’AFTERLIFE’ explores the idea that love dynamics are rooted in codependent magnetism and resonance patterns. It asks, what happens when obsession doesn’t end with death, but carries your soul into magnetising eternal dynamics? The result is kinda tragic and romantically glitchy. It’s basically a pop-metal requiem.”

AD INFINITUM have released a brand new music video. The Swiss/German modern metal unit have unveiled ‘Regicide,’ a new single released just ahead of their very first European headline tour.

Speaking about the new single, the band says, “as we prepare to kick off our first European headline tour, we’re thrilled to surprise our fans with a brand new song. One they’ll already be able to experience live in just a few days. ‘Regicide’ blends the dark soundscapes of Abyss with a bolder, more rebellious energy.”

ENTHEOS have released a brand new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Empty On The Inside,’ is a standalone single from the American progressive death metal band and is their first new music since their latest EP, An End To Everything, which was released in October last year, via Metal Blade Records. The new music video was directed by Malcolm Pugh.

Speaking about the new song, vocalist Chaney Crabb says, “’Empty On The Inside’ is a raw, cathartic song about pouring your entire soul into something that you thought would bring fulfillment to your life, but it only makes you feel empty in return. It is ENTHEOS in our purest form, expanding on our grunge and alternative metal sound. This track truly marks the beginning of a new era for our band.”

UK metal band, Cage Fight – Rachel Aspe (vocals), James Monteith (guitar), Nick Plews (drums) and Will Horsman (bass) – have released new single, ‘PIG.’

On ‘Pig’, Rachel calls out the creepy men who send women unsolicited messages online. The video includes real messages sent directly to Rachel and to other women that volunteered the inclusion of their experiences.

Vocalist Rachel Aspe commented: “’PIG’ is the expression of my disgust of men sending unsolicited intimate pictures, messages, crossing boundaries and harassing women digitally. I’ve had hundreds over the years, and it’s crazy to think that everyday women regularly get these messages. I just wanted to scream my hatred to them, raise awareness of the issue and show solidarity to other women who experience this abuse.”

Italian modern metal act Secret Rule unveil their powerful new single ‘Silent Pain’, the third track taken from their upcoming tenth studio album X, due out on October 24 via Rockshots Records.

Following the energetic ‘Just a Sacrifice’ and the evocative ‘Echoes of the Earth’, ‘Silent Pain’ dives into the emotional terrain of hidden suffering. With haunting melodies, cinematic arrangements and raw, confessional lyrics, the song captures the invisible battles we fight behind closed doors—where pain is masked by silence and strength is found in vulnerability.

“‘Silent Pain’ is a song I deeply connect with—it’s about giving a voice to emotions we often keep buried. Singing it felt like releasing something I had been holding in for years”, shares vocalist and lyricist Angela Di Vincenzo.

Musically, the track merges heavy grooves with fragile atmospheres, reflecting the duality of emotional turmoil and healing. Guitarist and producer Andy Menario explains: “I wanted the guitars to echo the internal chaos and quiet desperation behind the lyrics—sometimes heavy, sometimes fragile, just like the human mind.”

Megg Jacobs dives even deeper into the brutal emotional terrain first explored in her previous single ‘ego’ with the release of its companion track, ‘DEATH,’ a volatile meditation on all-or-nothing thinking, illusion, and the chaos that follows the rejection of nuance.

“‘DEATH’ is about the fallout of denying that middle space,” Megg Jacobs shares. “It’s the exhaustion that comes from clinging to black-and-white thinking while everything around you demands complexity.” With her signature fusion of thunderous drums, guttural vocals, and emotionally layered lyrics, Jacobs crafts a deep atmosphere that is as aggressive as it is vulnerable. She describes the track as being stuck in a loop, between glitter in the dirt and dirt in the glitter. One is rot masked by beauty, the other corruption masked by sparkle. “Neither is honest,” she explains. “Both are masks we wear to avoid nuance: the real discomfort of being human.” The new single builds on the themes of ego death and transformation first introduced in ‘ego,’ capturing the psychological wear-and-tear that results from resisting the complicated truths of being alive.

Renowned J-Metal group, BABYMETAL have released their highly anticipated new album METAL FORTH via Capitol Records. Along with the release, the group put out a new music video for their explosive track ‘My Queen’ (feat. Spiritbox).

Hotly-tipped Floridian quintet, Not Enough Space have released their powerful new single ‘Don’t Let Go,’ the latest offering from their forthcoming debut full-length album Weaponize Your Rage, set for release on September 12 via Thriller Records.

‘Don’t Let Go’ confronts the desperate beauty of clinging to hope when everything else is unraveling. With soaring emotion and crushing intensity, the track is a poignant showcase of the band’s ability to fuse raw vulnerability with unrelenting force.

“‘Don’t Let Go,’ captures the experience of facing struggles and hardships together with your partner,” Not Enough Space explains. “It highlights the importance of holding on through difficult times and not losing sight of each other. Blending soft, somber moments with bursts of energy and intensity, the song reflects the emotional depth of embracing both the highs and lows of love.”

Brighton’s self-defined ‘Brat Metal’ trio Eville, made up of singer/guitarist Eva Sheldrake, bassist/singer/producer Jude Richards, and drummer Milo Hemsley, have announced their debut EP BRAT METAL, set for release on October 17. The announcement is made ahead of the band’s hotly-anticipated appearance at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival.

Leading the charge is new single ‘BR4T MBL’ (pronounced brat mobile), a high-octane anthem inspired by Fast & Furious, Need for Speed, and the hyper-feminine aesthetics of Y2K icons like Paris Hilton. The track is packed with car-themed wordplay – with each line in the first verse shifting gears, from “FIRST off the line, you’re a SECOND too late” and beyond – delivering an empowering message that firmly puts women in the driver’s seat. The bold, glossy video brings the concept to life in full throttle.

Speaking of the track, vocalist Eva Sheldrake shares, “We wanted to write an empowering song that puts women in the driver’s seat for a change.”

Portland’s Dying Wish specialize in a particularly brutal form of metalcore. Emma Boster can actually sing when she isn’t bringing the hellfire beast-roars, and the band really steers into that ability on their new song ‘I’ll Know You’re Not Around,’ the lead single from the upcoming LP Flesh Stays Together. The heavy parts feel heavier because of the ominous beauty in Boster’s voice, and when the breakdown comes in, they bring it.

Flesh Stays Together follows Dying Wish’s 2023 album Symptoms Of Survival, as well as ‘I Brought You My Soul (Your World Brought Me Despair),’ the one-off single that came out earlier this year. Dying Wish recorded Flesh Stays Together with Knocked Loose collaborator Will Putney, and ‘I’ll Know You’re Not Around’ has a lot of that band’s sincere guttural lurch. Dying Wish already tour big rooms, but if the rest of the record sounds like this, I could see them following Knocked Loose into even bigger ones.

Dying Wish member Pedro Carrillo co-directed the ‘I’ll Know You’re Not Around’ video with Eric Richter, and it’s got all the bloody theatricality that you’d hope.

Finnish heavy metal powerhouse BATTLE BEAST continues their unstoppable rise with the release of their brand-new single and music video ‘Here We Are‘. With this new single, the band officially announces their highly anticipated seventh studio album Steelbound, set to be released on October 17 via Nuclear Blast.

‘Here We Are‘ marks the third single taken from Steelbound, and it’s a bold, unapologetic anthem of resilience and unity. Armed with thunderous riffs, powerful vocals, and infectious hooks, the song captures the spirit of overcoming adversity and standing strong together.

Song writer Joona Björkroth comments: “‘Here We Are’ captures that moment after the storm has passed — you’ve faced challenges, been tested, and somehow come through the other side a little stronger, a bit wiser, and perhaps a bit more grounded. Things might not have gone perfectly, but you’ve endured. The song is a tribute to perseverance and resilience — to standing tall just the way you are, nothing more, nothing less.”

Noora Louhimo adds: “We’ve all been down in the depths – each of us and all of us together. Still we’ve always gotten back up, even if bruised and bloodied. And here we are still, stronger than ever. No matter how tough the journey, we’re always stronger when we face it together”

The track is paired with a stunning music video that brings its message to life in true BATTLE BEAST fashion: dramatic, powerful, and visually striking.

UK metal outfit CAGE FIGHT have released a brand new single. Titled ‘IHYG (I Hate Your Guts)’, the new track marks the band’s first new music since the release of their self-titled debut album, which was released back in May 2022, via Candlelight Records. The song features deeply personal lyrics from vocalist Rachel Aspe, detailing a bleak and traumatic experience. The new music video was directed by Shaun Hodson (Loki Films).

Speaking about the new song, vocalist Rachel Aspe says, “’IHYG‘is a response to a deeply traumatic experience that had a life changing impact on me. It crushed my confidence and self-worth which spiralled me to rock bottom, but I’ve become stronger and more resilient than ever. This experience inspired me to write lyrics for the first time, resulting in this song. The video tells this story.”

Guitarist James Monteith adds, “since the release of our debut album we’ve been through some changes and significantly evolved as a unit. We’ve gotten to know each other much more musically and personally, and the result is a much more honed vision of CAGE FIGHT. IHYG is the first taste of what’s to come. We’re also excited to finally release new music with our new bassist Will Horsman.”

Face Yourself have unleashed vicious single ‘Fractures’, taken from their upcoming EP Fury. With the full EP set to arrive on September 26 via Sumerian Records, the track dissects the violence of beauty standards and self-hatred.

Speaking on ‘Fractures’, vocalist Yasmine Liverneaux has shared: “We are excited to release our new single ‘Fractures’ produced by Joey Sturgis. The lyrics explore a darker theme, as it speaks a lot about self hatred, exploring the pressure of beauty standards and the “mutilations” those pressures can lead someone to. It’s like changing your appearance so much to fit a mould to the point that you don’t even recognise yourself which can be very violent.”

Visions of Atlantis are set to release their upcoming studio album, Pirates, on May 13 via Napalm Records. Now the band release the second single ‘Melancholy Angel’ – a song that has already proven to be one of the fan favorites, when played live during the ongoing US tour. The single comes together with a stunning official video, including great visual effects and outstanding acting by the band around singer Clémentine Delauney, who has clearly developed further vocally and has both beautiful high tones and deeper more soulful colorings in her vocal repertoire. The mighty new single ‘Melancholy Angel’ is representative of the new Visions of Atlantis sound, who with Pirates, reveal their most honest and intimate album to date.
Hungary’s promising melodic metal formation Esperfall have released their debut album Origins In Darkness. The album presents the initial phase of the human soul’s journey as it forces itself to face its inner demons. As with every dark phase in our lives, this state is the starting point of a deep, spiritual journey and self-discovery. Every song is an echo of a major emotional issue vocalized with self-criticism, doubt and fear, fueled with anger and disbelief, oftentimes directed towards our society. These are the battles we have to face in our everyday lives. This song, ‘Tempest In Paradise’ sounds more positive compared to the other tracks on the album, although it describes a rather hopeless situation. This is the moment in the protagonist’s life when everything collapses, there is nothing left to hold on to and she has lost what has been the most important to her so far. Nevertheless, the hope and the will to fight at all costs remain to create everything on her own. Until now everything has been an illusion. Compared to the previously released music video (‘Retreat Into Dreamland’) this song highlights another side of the band. The pace remains the same, however this song is much more on the melodic side and Nonee presents only clean vocals this time as opposed to the harsh vocals that can be found in the previous single. It’s a real power metal song from start to finish, so hopefully — but not only — oldschool Avantasia, Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius fans will like this one. [via Metal Goddesses]

FlowerLeaf are back and they are ready to start their Dreamerie journey. As a forerunner, they just released a brand new single along with a music video called ‘The Storm’. ‘The Storm’ is the first single from the Dreamerie – Chapter I: Time. It’s a song about self-confidence, fighting for what you want and fulfilling your destiny. “It was an amazing experience recording The Storm because it gave FlowerLeaf a new dimension and it gives us lots of possibilities for what we can create in the future,” singer Vivs Takahashi says.
Seven Kingdoms have released the first single, ‘Universal Terrestrial’, from their upcoming full-length album Zenith. The music video for ‘Universal Terrestrial’ was filmed during the crowdfunding campaign, which raised over $50,000 on Kickstarter. Zenith will see a June 17 release via Distortion Music Group. 7K guitarist Camden Cruz says: “We are very excited to release the first song from Zenith! We are packing this one up, and two more new songs with us for the Beast in Black tour that starts this week! We will actually be shooting the music video for ‘Chasing the Mirage’ while we are on tour! We had a great time filming this song a few months ago with our main man, Jimmy Garcia.
Following their latest, chart-breaking album Heat Wave, Sweden’s heavy rock band Thundermother has unleashed a brand new song taken of their upcoming album Black And Gold. ‘Watch Out’ showcases the band’s adrenaline-fuelled, high voltage sound of powerful, filthy yet catchy rock ‘n’ roll they are known and loved for: Creating infectious party rock songs with an irresistible feelgood appeal! Guitarist Filippa Nässil reveals: ”We are stoked to present you our first single ‘Watch Out’ from our upcoming album Black And Gold; The song is about us in our careers right now about rising up, being powerful woman working as a team and taking charge. We are so proud and we hope our music will inspire many people. Don’t let anybody mess with your dreams.” [via Metal Goddesses]

Giant Walker release their fifth and final single, ‘Katoomba’ ahead of their debut album All In Good Time which will be released May 13. ‘Katoomba’ opens with a menacing guitar riff that undulates with an intricate, yet powerful drum groove. The energetic track is complemented by a hooky and captivating chorus that leaves you reaching to crank up the volume. Guitarist Jamie explains, “‘Katoomba’ was actually the first song that we wrote for the album and, whilst we try and bring a different vibe to all of our songs, we feel that ’Katoomba’ really summarises the sound of Giant Walker. Lyrically, it captures the essence of how we felt at the time – trying to stay sane in the first lockdown. Funnily enough, the song was actually named after a trip to the Blue Mountains, Katoomba in Australia, as that’s where I purchased the fuzz pedal which inspired the initial riff.” [via Metal Goddesses]

Hardcore x thrash crossover band Cage Fight have dropped the new single ‘Killer.’ Bassist Jon Reid explains, “‘Killer’ is a release of anger and fury directed at anyone that has caused wrong and is a rallying cry to those that feel pure visceral rage and need a soundtrack to that pure emotion. The song’s intensity is based in a simple remit, if you have wronged… you better start running…” [via Metal Goddesses]

Darkness Surrounding is a five-piece metal band from Wuppertal, Germany, that was founded in 2017. Their musical style is best described as Melodic Metal, influenced by Death, Core and Old School. Fast riffs, epic melodic parts and groovy breakdowns create a powerful and versatile sound. The voices of growler Tim and guitarist/clean-singer Kessi complement those attributes very well. The ban had this to say about their new song ‘Nocturnal Forest Air’: “We recorded this song as a part of our album in the legendary Maarweg Studios, Cologne, Germany. ‘Nocturnal Forest Air’ – a tragic and stirring waltz that tells the story of a young woman who had to deal with being constantly stressed and pressurized her whole life by a person in her close environment. As she grows up, she finally realizes that this person is the reason for her agony and plans to take revenge. With the lyrics being quite dark, we decided the song had to be a waltz because it would portray and frame the story in the most fitting way. The song is supposed to feel like a journey through all the emotions the protagonist goes through, really making it an experience to listen to the song. Through the music video we gave the whole story a new twist, that does not necessarily come across when just hearing the song, so watching the video is definitely worth it!” [via Metal Goddesses]

Los Angeles based alternative metal band, Motive Black has released their new single ‘Lift Me Up’. Produced by Grammy-winner Nick Rowe (Bloodsimple, Vampire Weekend), the track focuses on the talents of newcomer Elana Justin, and features special guest Carla Harvey, of the internationally acclaimed metal band Butcher Babies, on vocals. The single features Justin performing together with Butcher Babies’ Carla Harvey. Elana Justin explains: “the song is about realizing that you can’t find validation through other people. It’s easy to fall into the trap of avoidance, and trying to distract yourself from the growth you require by looking for love in all the wrong places. Facing inward can be truly difficult, but through that journey you find empowerment.” Carla Harvey (Butcher Babies) concurs stating “I love collaborating with strong women on projects so when I was asked to add my vocals to ‘Lift Me Up,’ I happily obliged. The result…an infectious tune, and a new found friendship!” [via Metal Goddesses]

The perfect carrier for that brute death metal voice, which cuts deep into the flesh of modern society – not only with words but with a message. Censored is slated for a release on May 6 via Drakkar Entertainment. Sonically, ‘Every Hill A Tomb’ does a great job mixing the trippier elements of death metal with a heaping spoonful of progressive metal. “We are excited to unveil our first single with our new vocalist, Sarah Hartman,” said Aversed in a statement. “The artistic chemistry has been incredible and we hope you welcome her into this new era of our band and our songwriting. We wrote ‘Every Hill a Tomb’ to not only showcase our new direction with Sarah at the helm, but to process the grief we have all experienced these past few years. We explore a depersonalization into death and the afterlife, with the music and lyrics portraying the simultaneous grandeur and anxiety of infinite time. We are now in full-on songwriting mode and we hope you stay with us as we continue to reveal our new chapter with the world.” [via Metal Injection]

Texas-based industrial metal group Daedric releases their anticipated third single ‘Dawnbreaker’ with an alluring official music video overlaid with a vocal performance that dashes between brutal and ethereal, industrial guitars, pulsing electronics, and heavy rhythm. ‘Dawnbreaker’ pushes the boundaries into even heavier territory for the band and is another triumphant chapter in the Daedric saga. “During production, we basically said “how heavy could we go if we really just went for it,” says Daedric. “And compared to other Daedric songs, the production elements actually came together pretty easy. We also like it very much.” [via Outburn]

Lydia’s Castle drops their newest single ‘Search For You’. The hard-hitting track was penned as a form of therapy for vocalist Tonya LeeAnne, who hopes to share her feelings of deep, personal loss with listeners. “’Search For You’ is about one of the greatest losses of my life, and I wanted to channel that pain into something creative that can be shared with others and help myself, the band and so many others know they are not alone” says Tonya LeeAnne. “The great thing about music and good lyrics is that the listener can make the song their own, and become attached to it in their own way, which is exactly how I got into music to begin with.”

US rock giants Icon For Hire return with new gritty single ‘Ready For Combat’, alongside a high-powered music video. ‘Ready For Combat’ is the first cut from their upcoming new album released in partnership with Kartel Music Group. Describing the song as “a punch in the face”, lead singer Ariel Bloom says: “I’m demanding a fight, insisting that my demons come out to meet me. It actually feels amazing to acknowledge this angrier side of me. As women we often don’t have the space and freedom to do that, so it feels good to create some space with this song”. “It’s pure aggression from the start!”, adds Shawn, “it doesn’t have a lot of the bells and whistles we usually incorporate in our song”. This heaviness is perfectly depicted by the gripping video accompanying the single, which features Ariel in all her fierceness.
