IGNEA have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Dunes’, is taken from the Ukrainian melodic modern metal band’s upcoming new album, Dreams Of Lands Unseen, which is scheduled to be released in April this year. Speaking about the new song, vocalist Helle Bohdanova says, “we continue telling the story of the amazing Ukrainian travel writer and photographer Sofia Yablonska who lived in the XX century. ‘Dunes’ is inspired by her adventure to the Sahara Desert. On this dangerous journey, Sofia’s driver fainted from the intense heat, so she had to take charge of driving and also fix the overheated engine herself. Their troubles didn’t end there, as they also had to escape from hostile locals who tried to shoot them. Our song describes how Sofia saw a mirage, so common in the desert. In our version, instead of imagining palm trees and an oasis, she saw the chilly Carpathian mountains with pine trees and rainfalls…” [via Distorted Sound]

Swedish dark symphonic metal powerhouse ELEINE have the world at their feet. Not only are they setting stages on fire as support band of KAMELOT‘s current European tour, but they are also pleased to unveil details of their fourth full-length album. Appropriately titled We Shall Remain, ELEINE‘s highly-anticipated new opus — which marks their first full-length release through new label home Atomic Fire Records after starting their cooperation with an acoustic EP in October 2022 — will be released on July 14. As appetizer, the band have unveiled a first digital single off the record, ‘We Are Legion’ alongside a music video. Newfoundland, Canada’s CATEGORY VI will be releasing their new album Firecry toward the end of March via Moribund Records, and in lead up to it earworming its way to fans along with celebrating International Women’s Day that passed earlier this week, the quartet is sharing their next single ‘Valkyries’. “This song is about sexism and misogyny and my own personal experiences with this. Being told to shut up my whole life backfired. LOL It’s about sisterhood and banding together like a bunch of powerful Valkyries against the assholes in the world!” says vocalist Amanda Marie Jackman.

LAKE MALICE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the tack ‘Stop The Party’, is the brand new single from the alt metal duo and follows on from their previous single, ‘Black Turbine’, which was released in November last year. The new song was produced and mixed by Grammy Award-nominated producer Romesh Dodangoda [BRING ME THE HORIZON, NOVA TWINS, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE]. The new single intends to reflect vocalist Alice Guala’s experience dealing with social anxiety and depression in a post-pandemic world. “When things went back to normal, I felt like there was a veiled expectation for people to catch-up on social events – from birthday parties to gigs and festivals,” she explains. “As a person who suffered with anxiety and depression most of her adult life, it was extremely difficult to switch my social skills back on, and that’s when my depression reached its lowest points (hence wanting to “stop the party”, where the party represents life).” The zombie-riddled music video which accompanies the track was inspired by The Last Of Us, as the series started airing when the band were putting together the storyboard for the clip. Guala says, “we knew we wanted the video to be a party, but then we added the zombie element to represent that feeling of unease and anxiety you can easily get, being in a social setting. Mimi Barks has released another new video from her DEADGIRL mixtape, this time for the furious ‘SAW.’ After the high production values of her last clip, for ‘ASHES,’ in which the German doom-trap queen is burned at the stake as a witch, here she’s taken a more raw, minimal, lo-fi approach. It’s no less eerie, though. “‘SAW’ marks the resistance, rage, and anger I experienced while seeking my identity and self-worth on an emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental level,” she says of the track. “Working independently on set with a micro team – just me, my videographer and his camera – it takes me back to my roots. Eramnesia are a new duo consisting of guitarist Pat Reilly and singer Aimee Zambrana, and they have shared their first-ever single, ‘Alone Under Neon Lights.’ Combining elements of Eighties goth-rock, synth-pop and glam-metal, the moody track features gigantic guitar solos, throbbing drum machine beats, and Zambana’s robust voice, which travels from an intimate croon to a powerful belt. It’s accompanying video sees the band evoke the song’s title by performing under the glow of neon lights, with scenes of Reilly’s wife dancing hypnotically in between the shots of the band. “We knew the vibe we wanted to create with this video; Dark, retro, and atmospheric with twist of sexiness,” Reilly said. “Director Eric Taylor Parker did an amazing job not only shooting with that idea in mind, but also in the editing of the video.
