Symphonic metal storytellers, Delain, have released their new EP, Dance With The Devil, this via Napalm Records and are all fired up kick off their UK tour in Glasgow on November 15. The gripping track offers a whirlwind of emotions; articulating foreboding and sorrow through hooky electronic melodies and modern heaviness. Finnish progressive metal band Rioghan is set to release the second studio album Kept on February 14 via Inverse Records. The second single ‘Hands’ is out now. Bristol-based heavy-pop quartet Bitter Kisses have released their new single, ‘Social Demons’. ‘Social Demons,’ the band’s eighth single, is characterized as an angst-fueled torrent of thought and rhythm. The track was produced by Alex Copp, known for his work with As December Falls and Led By Lanterns, and mastered by Grant Berry. Recording took place at Steel City Studios, ensuring a polished and powerful sound that aligns with Bitter Kisses’ signature heavy-pop style. Reflecting on the inspiration behind the single, the band stated, “’Social Demons’ puts words to the struggles of coping with our own hyperactive and often unfair inner monologues (inner demons). Butcher Babies have been reborn. A few months out from the departure of co-founding vocalist Carla Harvey, the L.A.-based metalcore outfit have returned with a single called ‘Sincerity,’ which also marks their first piece of music through new label home Judge & Jury Records. ‘Sincerity’ follows the band’s 2023 full-length, Eye for an Eye… /… ‘Til the World’s Blind, and it’s their first release since Harvey’s exit. With the band now reconfigured as a one-vocalist enterprise, Heidi Shepherd’s singing is fully front and center on the modern metal track, and reliably powerful. A press release explains that the song is “rooted in wishful thinking,” but is likewise about being put into a situation where someone manipulates your emotions “to feed their own ego and benefit.” “Over the last decade and a half, Butcher Babies has become known for our aggression and soaring melodies. Delain have just released a new single and video, ‘Dance With The Devil,’ following last year’s Dark Waters album. ENTHEOS have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘A Thousand Days,’ is taken from the American progressive death metal band’s upcoming new EP, An End To Everything, which is scheduled to be released in October this year, via Metal Blade Records. Speaking about the new single, vocalist Chaney Crabb says, “lyrically, ‘A Thousand Days’ is a song about feeling as if you‘re on the edge of life and death. Beyond the Pale, the death/thrash metal outfit from the Netherlands with a pinch of black, and brimmed with soul-purging riffs, is unstoppable. The band just dropped a new music video, this time filled with feisty pirates for the track ‘Walk the Plank’. Following ‘The Age of the Pariah,’ ‘Storm en Drift’ and the remix for ‘Facts and Figures’ by acclaimed Japanese musician Frost (Gods of Decay; Godfrost), ‘Walk the Plank’ is the fourth single released by Beyond The Pale from their debut EP Monument in Time. ‘Walk the Plank’ depicts a narrative of rebellion and resistance against a corrupt and oppressive authority, particularly targeting women. After teasing the single for a little while now, Hot Milk have just shared their vulnerable, standalone new song and video, ‘Where Does The Light Get In?’. The track is the band’s first new music since last year’s A CALL TO THE VOID, with Han Mee describing it as “its own beast that came from a place of great torment and suffering. Matters of the heart are rarely touched by our band but after the last year put me into a place I never wish to return I couldn’t not write this song. It was a necessity.” “Sadness doesn’t last forever, but when it consumes you it feels like it’s there for eternity,” adds Jim Shaw. “Essentially this song is a cry out for a change in circumstances. It’s hard seeing someone close to you in pain and feeling powerless to change it. Memoremains releases new music. In the spring, the single ‘Toxic Girl’ opened a new era for Memoremains which continues now with a new release, the tight pop metal song ‘Stuck’. “The song, as its name suggests, is about being stuck. After releasing their latest record, Deceivers, last year to critical acclaim, extreme metal masters Arch Enemy have returned with a new video for the track ‘Poisoned Arrow’. Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott comments: “I almost can’t believe we’re releasing a seventh (!) video off our recent Deceivers album. Los Angeles rock band TemperMental have unveiled the music video for their recent single ‘Get Out’. Melbourne Crustmetal/Deathpunk band Küntsquäd are excited to announce they have inked a record deal with European label Wormholedeath for their upcoming debut album release. It’s gonna be really tough for any metal song this year to be more exhilarating than ‘Pardon Me, I Have to Go Now.’ Hanabie‘s latest stunner is a distinctly modern update on the garishly fun electronic-core that took off in the late 2000s; neon party synths, breakdowns with the jingly catchiness of a radio hip-hop beat, and wheel-screeching turns between throat-searing screams and buttery cleans. The experimental progressive death metal act Entheos have released a brand new single called ‘In Purgatory’ and a killer new video to go along with it. Entheos — which is currently vocalist Chaney Crabb and multi-instrumentalist Navene Koperweis — have always pushed boundaries with their music, taking inspiration from death metal, groove, grunge, jazz, and prog, just to list a few. They stripped down to a two-piece in 2020, allowing Koperweis and Crabb to explore whatever avenues they wish, and the proof lies in ‘In Purgatory.’ “‘In Purgatory’ is a direct extension of our last single ‘Absolute Zero,” says Koperweis. “Musically, the lead guitar and melodies that appear on the outro of ‘Absolute Zero’ became the seeds for ‘In Purgatory,’ and from there, the song wrote itself.” Crabb continued, saying that “Lyrically, it represents introspection and coming to terms with the person that you are at your very core. US rock giants Icon For Hire share more new music with single ‘Shadow’, taken from their upcoming album The Reckoning due for release on September 30 via Kartel Music Group. ‘Shadow’ follows the release of heavy cut ‘Breakdown’ and continues to build on the momentum gained by a string of singles and video releases ahead of their forthcoming new album The Reckoning. The soaring new single deals with “the ugly part of ourselves we try to suppress and hide, but what if we embraced them?”, says lead singer and songwriter Ariel Bloomer. Digging deeper into the creative process of songwriting for the track, Ariel adds; “I’m in this space right now where I’m learning not to be ashamed, apologetic or resistant. To accept those dark parts of myself as me”. Co-written with Breaking Benjamin’s Keith Wallen and mixed by Joe Rickard of In Flames and Red, ‘Shadow’ is the first track Icon For Hire felt would benefit from the help of an outsider. “We had the chorus and most of the vocals written, we got together with Keith to finish it out. He was able to help move some of the pieces around, and helped us demo out the structure. It was our first time working with him and it went really well”.

Aversed is back with their second single of 2022 and, much like the first one, it’s an incredible progressive death metal ass-kicker. The song covers a ton of heavy ground before returning to a super catchy chorus sung by new vocalist Sarah Hartman. “Humans have a universal language: violence. It’s the only solution we consistently turn to in order to solve even our most basic problems,” said drummer Jeff Saltzman. “‘Death Lullaby’ serves as an ode to this natural state of affairs. On the contrary, while all of us aspire to it, universal peace is a concept that is hard to comprehend. We need violence to comfort us and lull us to sleep each night because that is what we know. The beauty of being a metal musician and a fan is that we have an outlet to release this explosion of violent feelings within each of us.” [via Metal Injection]

Marlene Mendoza is here to throw down big time with her new single ‘Insanity.’ If you’re looking for mosh riffs, breakdowns, and a massive chorus that’s sure to incite tons of fists in the air, then you’re going to love this. “I am excited to release my first EP that showcases my artistic expression and authentic self thus far,” said Mendoza. “And also to show that women can be awesomely insane too.” [via Metal Injection]

Delain officially became the solo project of the keyboardist Martijn Westerholt in February 2021, meaning the other four members of the band quit. Westerholt has now announced the new Delain lineup consisting of guitarist Ronald Landa, who played with the group between 2006 and 2009; and original drummer Sander Zoer, who played with the band between 2006 and 2014; alongside newcomers vocalist Diana Leah and bassist Ludovico Cioffi. The new Delain lineup is now streaming their debut single ‘The Quest And The Curse’ which you can check out above. Forever May Fall are a band from Charlotte, North Carolina, who’ve been around since 2017, but have used 2022 as an opportunity to reintroduce themselves to the world with a fresh sound and a re-energized approach. After dropping two singles throughout the first half of the year, ‘Aftermath’ and ‘You,’ the group led by frontwoman Jillyan Brennan are back with another new banger called ‘Undertow.’ Bands like Evanescence, Halestorm and Linkin Park definitely come to mind as similar reference points, but Forever May Fall are definitely putting their own spin on that type of heavy, anthemic rock with a song like ‘Undertow.’ [via Revolver]
