London-based rock trio Dream Nails releases their raucous new single ‘House Of Bones’ taken from their highly anticipated third studio album You Wish (set for release on 6 February 2026 via Marshall Records). In support of the album, the band also shares an intimate run of UK in-store events.

“This song is about finding strength within yourself – and safety in your own body.” shares drummer Lucy Katz. “It’s about finding stability and resilience within. You can’t control how other people act, or act out, but if you hold strong and always know yourself, then wherever you are, you’re always home.”

“For me, this song speaks to overcoming the prejudice we’ve always faced as women in the music industry” says guitarist Anya Pearson. “From being told where to plug in my guitar, to not being permitted backstage because it’s ‘bands only’. House of Bones is saying: Haters will hate, but we keep going, no matter what.”

“Nova Twins have an incredible song called ‘Bassline Bitch’ which we love, and which inspired this song in its simplicity, and extremely gnarly bass part”, adds vocalist/bassist Mimi Jasson. “For the music video, we featured our two jiu jitsu fighter friends – their sparring is just like the song itself – both powerful and playful at the same time.”

London-based rock trio Dream Nails releases their new track ‘The Information’—an urgent, groove-fuelled blend of post-punk and melodic grunge from their highly anticipated third studio album You Wish.

“Sometimes the universe calls you up, and you need to make sure the damn phone isn’t on silent and you answer. It will almost certainly be a withheld number,” guitarist Anya Pearson shares about ‘The Information’.

She adds, “In this song, we are imagining what it would be like to feel everything, all at once. We noticed how disassociated and numb we were feeling in reaction to the world being so overwhelming. But in the face of so much struggle, joy truly is an act of resistance. The track is a celebration of staying open to both ecstasy and pain. That’s what being alive truly means to us”

Drummer Lucy Katz adds, “The seed of the song was ‘I’m gonna download all the information’. Mimi came up with it, and it made us laugh because it sounds so bizarre. How can we remain open to all the accumulated knowledge of humanity without toppling into a full-on psychotropic ego-death?

“The lyric ‘everything flows through me’ refers to ancient ways of being and doing that still exist within each of us”, shares singer Mimi Jasson. “We’re channelling primal forces on this record, and this song is the perfect example of this.”

Accompanying the release is a video created by LA-based video artist Casey Kauffman. Following a chance encounter in an LA art gallery, the band discovered a kindred spirit in Casey, whose work also explores our anxiety and fascination with rapidly evolving technology and our relationship with the algorithms that are as mythical as they are homogenising.

London-based rock trio Dream Nails reveal details of their third studio album You Wish, scheduled for release on February 6 via UK independent label, Marshall Records. Accompanying the announcement is the absurd, tech-dystopic punk anthem ‘Organoid’.

Following their acclaimed sophomore album Doom Loop, Dream Nails are back, revitalised and recalibrated, evolving their politically charged sound to encompass introspection and spiritual curiosity in their most experimental work to date. Written over the past year, the new record responds to a period of intense global change.

Throwing themselves into the creative process—In collaboration with the acclaimed producer and engineer Ali Chant (Dry Cleaning, Katy J Pearson, Sorry, Yard Act)—You Wish marks a sonic departure from previous works, and, for the first time, the band broke down their traditional roles and collaborated across lyrics, melody, and production. The band “got weird” to create something intimate and primal, resulting in some of their most creatively vulnerable work to date, while remaining rooted in the myriad shades of punk that colour their signature sound.

Building on their punk beginnings, the new record retains Dream Nails’ witty and sharp lyrical observations while drawing from heavier, more melodic influences, such as the Breeders, Wolf Alice, and Mannequin Pussy. “This is a punk album about resilience”, shares guitarist Anya Pearson, “each song a story of strength. It’s called You Wish because it perfectly captures our punk swagger counterpointed with our cosmic optimism. With Doom Loop, we were curious observers of the world’s repeated cycles. With You Wish, we’re finding the strength to fight. We’re asking the universe for guidance. We’re making friends with animals. We’re surrendering to the elements, to a cosmic knowing that we’re all born with, to find the answers.”

The trio’s latest single, ‘Organoid’, is a paranoid punk explosion, an expression of tech-anxiety fuelled by Black-Mirror-esque developments in technology. What if our computers end up with souls? “It’s about the fight to stay human in the outright insanity of the digital age,” shares drummer Lucy Katz. “It’s a response to feeling silenced by the tech overlords and the toxic social environment they have created, which corrupts how we all relate to each other and ourselves.” Organoids are tiny human brains with eyes that are being used to run supercomputers”, explains singer/bassist Mimi Jasson. “Do they have a conscience? Do they have souls? Should we resist these dystopian systems, or should we not say anything at all?”

“Will we wake up one day as organoids?” Anya questions. “Tech feudalists are monetising our deepest social bonds. How do we stay truly connected? With a tidal wave of AI content flooding music, art, social interactions, and even threatening our jobs, how do we find the words to fight back?”

You Wish:

The Only Way Out is Through

This Is Water

Organoid

The Spirit Does Not Burn

London-based rock trio DREAM NAILS are back and revitalised with a fresh offering of new music in the form of Pixies-inspired ‘This is Water,’ showcasing the three-piece as galvanised and renewed, with bass player Mimi Jasson fully embracing her new role as the band’s vocalist for this exciting new era.

In collaboration with the acclaimed producer and engineer Ali Chant (Dry Cleaning, Katy J Pearson, Sorry, Yard Act), the band has plunged headfirst into a new creative process to create some of their most meta and abstract work to date while remaining rooted in the myriad shades of punk that colour their signature sound.

“We are so lucky to have worked with Ali on this song. He has worked with some true British icons,” shares bassist/vocalist Mimi Jasson. “With Ali, we indulged in our playful edge, experimenting with pedals and exploring sounds that teased out the themes of the song. When I said I wanted my voice to evoke something intimate on ‘This is Water,’ he ran my vocals through a Hammond organ, the rotating Leslie speaker created a sound that resembles being underwater”.

“This song is inspired by a speech given by the late writer David Foster Wallace, who tells a story about two fish swimming along in the ocean,” explains drummer Lucy Katz. “One fish remarks, ‘The water’s nice today!’ to which the other fish replies, ‘What’s water?’

“We are immersed in ourselves! The lyrics convey the idea of becoming so stuck in our own sticky experiences and identities that we struggle to truly relate to one another. We are all fish, and we are all swimming.”

Guitarist Anya Pearson adds, “The lyrics came from freewriting together, selecting lines and ideas that we wanted to connect like a deconstructed jigsaw puzzle. We’re embracing our weird side, walking a tightrope between the personal and the surreal”

London-based punks Dream Nails are back with a euphoric break-up song in the form of ‘CONTROL,’ working with award-winning producer Adrian Bushby and returning with a revitalised, power trio line-up. The band’s latest offering (out now via Marshall Records) sees the three-piece galvanised and more vital than ever, with bass player Mimi Jasson stepping forward as the band’s new vocalist.

“As Dream Nails enters its third phase as a classic power trio, it’s the perfect time to share ‘Control’ with the world,” remarks drummer Lucy Katz. “Our bassist, Mimi, is now on lead vocals while continuing to bass-slay. Seeing her take vocals in her stride is genuinely inspiring and is pushing our musicianship further than we ever thought we could go. We’ve found a new energy.”

“Our new track is about understanding why people might stay in an unhealthy relationship for too long,” adds Jasson. “The lyrics reflect ‘there’s good in bad and bad in the good’. Things are never simple; we wanted that nuance to come across.”

Guitarist Anya Pearson adds, “‘Control’ is also about stepping into your power, finding the courage to leave someone trying to control you and mess with your head. It’s vulnerable, it’s brave, and it’s euphoric.”

“We had the pleasure of recording ‘Control’ at the Marshall Studio with producer Adrian Bushby, who’s recorded with some of our heroes like the Foo Fighters and Spice Girls.” Jasson recalls excitedly, “We asked him to regale us with stories from the golden era recording ‘Wannabe’ and ‘Who Do You Think You Are’, and then we channelled a bit of that spice into the track.”

Queer punk collective DREAM NAILS drop their new single ‘BALLPIT,’ a disco-punk war cry, taken from their highly anticipated sophomore record DOOM LOOP (set for release October 13 via Marshall Records, produced by Ross Orton). Packed with a snarling punk rock attitude and brazenly cut with a grimy alternative disco flavour, ‘BALLPIT’ sees DREAM NAILS addressing the defiant act of self-care and forcing yourself to be present, slow down and enjoy life. “This song is about having fun for the sake of it.” declares drummer Lucy Katz. “It’s about the pursuit of hedonism as a radical act. Sometimes the dread and hopelessness caused by the succubus of late-capitalism, patriarchy, white supremacy, and environmental devastation feels overwhelming. These problems aren’t going to be solved by acting silly in a ball pit or writing a song about it, but part of breaking through the doom loop is learning how to have self-compassion, to carve out moments and spaces where we can play and simply exist.” Bassist Mimi Jasson expands on the track’s sticky plastic origins by adding: “After a show, with the band tired and depleted, Anya started begging everyone else to check out this adult ball pit, aptly named Balls Deep… She was honestly desperate to go. We caved and ended up spending an ecstatic hour surrounded by ‘sticky coloured plastic,’ laughing, and jumping in, over and over again… ‘Drowning in colour’ is the ultimate goal.” Filmed in an Essex meadow on the grounds of a youth music project the band are collaborating with on their Arts Council England-funded project Dreams of Revolution, which facilitates youth engagement with zine culture, political music and aims to increase access to the music industry. The cryptic video features a leather leather-clad character (portrayed by bassist Mimi Jasson) representing someone seeking pleasure on their own terms, while simultaneously depicting an image that the mainstream would understand as sexualised from the latex and fetish attire. “…the giant Zorbs we used looked like alien eggs,” explains frontman Ishmael. “This concept aligns with the idea that Mimi’s character gave birth to the band, who, in turn, frees the creature searching for its own pleasure and autonomy, guided by our sound.”

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Bonnie McKee has dropped a new music video for ‘Hot City’ directed by Joe DeSantis and Bonnie Mckee. The song was released as the second single from her upcoming sophomore album Hot City last month, following ‘SLAY’. It was written by Bonnie McKee, Kelly Sheehan, Jroc and Oliver Goldstein. Produced by Oligee. She wrote the song in 2011, but the track was never released due to leaving her label Epic Records at that time. This time, she re-recored the song for the new album. Bonnie McKee said of the video, “The ‘Hot City’ music video is every bit the bright and highly stylized 80’s fever dream I envisioned it to be all those years ago, and I’m elated to finally let it live!’ Bonnie McKee said of the song, “I wrote ‘Hot City’ in Miami 2011, at the height of the golden age of sparkly maximalist pop music. I was carefree, riding the high of co-writing my first global hits on the Teenage Dream album, and finally catching my stride after years of barely getting by as a struggling songwriter. I was at the top of my songwriting game, and always felt like this song was some of my best work, but my label deal fell apart and it never saw the light of day. With the recent resurgence of nostalgia for 2010’s pop, (and a lot of encouragement from my fans!) I decided to crack open the vault and re-record all my old masters of the era, and it’s been extremely gratifying bringing the visuals to life.” She continued, “I always wanted to write a song about an imaginary destination a la ‘Funky Town,’ ‘Paradise City’ or ‘Electric Avenue,’ because I feel like it’s an evergreen theme-escaping to paradise-that people can bop to 50 years from now.” She added, “As a kid I was fascinated by the movie trope of “repressed nerd” gone wild. From Michelle Pfeiffer’s transformation from insecure Selina Kyle to kick ass Catwoman in Batman Returns, to virginal Sandra D’s leather jacket ‘Tell me about it, stud’ moment in Grease, there was a thrill and a danger to a woman embracing her sexuality that I found exhilarating. I purposefully didn’t cast a love interest in this video because for me, it was never the male gaze that resulted from these bad girl makeovers that excited me, it was the power and confidence they exuded in their uninhibited state. My hope is that ‘Hot City’ can allow the listener to escape to a place where they can leave their troubles behind and embrace their inner vixen!” [via pmstudio]

In July, Pittsburgh’s Code Orange announced plans to follow their 2020 album Underneath with a new album called The Above, coming at the end of September. The hardcore/metal experimenters launched their new era with a single, ‘Take Shape,’ which features the one and only Billy Corgan. Now, Code Orange are circling back with a new single and video (directed by the band’s visual/audio collective NOWHERE2RUN), ‘Mirror,’ which features Reba Meyers on lead vocal. “This song has a special place in my heart,” Meyers says. “To me, it’s the climax of this style of my writing in this band thus far. Take a look in the mirror, are you bored?” Jami Morgan adds: “‘Mirror’ is NOWHERE2RUN’s first foray into full music video production from conception all the way to the final edit. It’s fitting that we took on a song that is dynamically disparate from anything Code Orange has ever done. It’s a little softer, a little more lush, and led by a powerful performance from Reba. It’s another important piece of the puzzle that is The Above.” [via Stereogum]

Meet UCHE YARA, the gifted 20-year-old multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter who grew up in Austria and is now based in Berlin. Despite not even releasing one song, UCHE YARA has stunned audiences across Europe in recent months with her confident and powerful performances, going straight from her high school final exams to playing over 40 shows with her 4-piece band, which have included Wilderness, The Great Escape, MELT and opening with Bilderbuch for the Rolling Stones. The sound is almost indescribable, melding an incredibly wide range of genres from psychedelic rock, tango and R&B with remarkably wide-ranging vocals to create a truly mesmerising sound that unbelievably is all the work of one person. UCHE YARA releases her long-awaited debut single and video ‘www she hot’, a tour de force of a track that is a real statement of intent from this talented young artist. Written as UCHE YARA’s love song to Mother Earth, it ironically highlights all the beautiful and ugly things that keep on happening on our planet and affect us all. “It was never my plan to write about this topic” explains UCHE YARA on the creation of the track, “yet it seems that subconsciously something must have been preoccupying me after all. From the beginning, it was clear to me that I wanted to write a feel-good song that is simply fun to play live and unites me with the audience. I fully produced and recorded the song in my first shared flat in Berlin. I couldn’t really sing at the time because I had a bad flu…probably that’s the reason why I was playing around with my vocals so much. Initially, I wanted to write a track that unites the live-audience and me and would be equally fun on both sides. So here it is, have fun <3”

Nessa Barrett has teamed up with producer Whethan for a new single, ‘sick of myself’. The track follows on from Nessa’s recent slot at Reading & Leeds, as well as her EP hell is teenage girl. Whethan says of the collab: “’sick of myself’ is the perfect collaboration between Nessa and I’s sound and I’m excited to play this one out at upcoming shows.” “So excited to be releasing this collab with Whethan,” Nessa adds. “He’s such a talented, cool artist. I hope everyone loves this song as much as we do.” [via Dork]

Baby Queen – AKA Bella Latham – shares her new single, ‘Quarter Life Crisis’, which arrives in the lead up to the release of her eagerly awaited debut album of the same name. ‘Quarter Life Crisis’, stemmed from a conversation Latham had with her cousin’s girlfriend. “I felt like I had so much responsibility, but I still felt like a child. I was talking about how I felt, and she said the phrase, quarter life crisis.” Baby Queen looked up the phrase and felt validated: “People have this experience where you’re looking both forward and back. It’s the realisation that actually, you can’t fuck around anymore. Fucking around finally comes to an end.” So, in songwriter Max Wolfgang’s flat, the pair wrote the song together. It has, what Bella calls, “a creepy nursery rhyme vibe”, both catchy and foreboding. “I feel like my mind is 25-sided / I’ll let you know if I ever survive this,” she sings prophetically.
Queer punk collective DREAM NAILS drop their new single ‘FEMME BOI’ taken from their highly anticipated sophomore record DOOM LOOP (set for release October 13 via Marshall Records).

The band’s latest offering is a celebration of vulnerability, unity and trans freedom that’s accompanied by a perfectly infectious and hooky soundtrack. Speaking on their latest punk anthem, frontman Ishmael Kirby (he/they) comments:

“This song began as a catchy hook, a trans daydream about the power I could hold as a boy embracing femininity,” declares Ishmael. “Our guitarist Anya had to really coax the idea out of me, because I was fearful it wouldn’t make sense. I wanted to protect this precious truth I knew about myself but hadn’t vocalised.”

“This song defies society’s expectations of a feminine trans-boy. We invite you to find joy and connection in the track, regardless of where you stand on the gender spectrum. Let’s celebrate these opposing feelings!”

Dream Nails have signed to Marshall Records for the release of their new album Doom Loop.

Due out on October 13, the record follows 2020’s debut self-titled LP, and sees the band explore the “repeated cycles we find ourselves in”, according to vocalist Ishmael Kirby.

“From political injustice and patriarchal systems to the negative spirals of our minds,” Ishmael continues. “A doom loop is a crisis that starts to feed on itself. It feels like there is no escape. But there is. This album is a reflection of ourselves, the world we live in, and the one we want to create.”

To coincide with the announcement, Dream Nails have shared new single ‘Good Guy’ – watch the video below. [via Kerrang!]
