Bristolian alt-metal act MALLAVORA announce their fierce new EP, ECHOES, will be released on November 20 via Marshall Records. Along with the announcement comes the band’s latest epic single, ‘ It’s Not Enough’. ‘It’s Not Enough,’ delves into the relentless battle with anxiety, the illusion of control and the reality of chronic illness, where even good moments are overshadowed by fear of what’s next. The track captures the raw frustration and desperation of trying to manage a future out of reach. “In this track, I touch on a recurring nightmare I had when I was younger,” shares Jess. “I was endlessly falling in slow motion and had the constant lurch in my stomach from the ground being wiped out from underneath me.”

Rockshots Records and Lay Of The Autumn are excited to announce the release of their next single, ‘Lost In Your Eyes’ from their highly anticipated album Of Love And Sorrow due out on October 25. This powerful and energetic track blends orchestral and electronic elements, capturing the moment when you look into someone’s eyes and get lost in a universe of stars.

FROZEN CROWN have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘I Am The Wind’, is taken from the Italian power metal band’s new album, War Hearts, out now via Napalm Records. Speaking about the new song, the band shares, “’I Am The Wind’ marks the return of ‘the Tyrant’ and serves as a spiritual successor to our popular song, with Federico once again sharing lead vocalist duties with our frontwoman Jade. Running at a slower speed than the other songs on the album, this track depicts the inexorable march of a threatening army and the relentless fury of elements.” [via Distorted Sound]

Welsh four-piece Dream State have released their new single ‘Bloom’. The track marks the band’s first new music since their EP Still Dreaming, which was self-released earlier this year, and coincides with their UK headline tour. Speaking about the new single, vocalist Jessie Powell says: “We’re all excited to showcase some more new material after ‘Still Dreaming’. This single represents more of our exploration into different genres but still keeping the original Dream State charm alive. “I vividly remember Aled and I jamming the verse riff in an Air BnB somewhere in Germany. It started with rhythmic ideas and I think that stands for a lot of the track with its Drum & Bass and Latin influence too. Aled does his thing and finishes off the demo, then the vocals and drums get developed after. Lyrically, the song is about how much the fans’ support means to us all, but how with each step we take there’s a greater feeling of pressure which can sometimes make it difficult to enjoy the present moment. It’s hard not to look to the next show, tour or studio session and you can quite easily get wrapped up in anticipating what’s next instead of what’s right in front of you.” [via Dork]

Arch Enemy is now streaming the fairly thrashy (and occasionally catchy) new single ‘Liars & Thieves’, which also serves as the closer for their upcoming record Blood Dynasty. Which you’ve already heard if you’ve seen Arch Enemy live lately – they’ve been playing it a bunch. “Our second single from Blood Dynasty is here,” Said Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott. “‘Liars & Thieves’ is a fast, heavy-hitting track, with a melody that’s been getting stuck in people’s heads — don’t say I didn’t warn you! We’ve been playing it live recently, and it’s been an absolute beast in the pit. Now, it’s time to check out the studio cut!” He continues, “The accompanying video has been captured out here on our ongoing European tour by director Jens De Vos, highlighting the passion and metal madness of these amazing shows where fans and band are one!” [via Metal Injection]

Dianne van Giersbergen, former Xandria vocalist, has released a video for her latest single, ‘Flameborn.’ The track is taken from her upcoming album Soulward Bound, which she is releasing under her own name, Dianne. Produced by Joost van den Broek (Powerwolf, Epica, Ayreon), each song on the album features a renowned guest musician. ‘Flameborn’ is a symphonic metal anthem, blending haunting vocals, orchestral melodies, heavy riffing, and double bass. It tells an autobiographical story about restoring a lost friendship, dedicated to Steven Wussow (ex-Xandria), who also plays bass on the track. The song features Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion, Ayreon, MaYaN), whose operatic vocals combine seamlessly with Dianne’s. Dianne comments: “‘Flameborn’ is an autobiographical story about restoring a lost friendship. It’s dedicated to my dear friend and ex Xandria band member, Steven Wussow, who also performs bass guitar on this song. To give ‘Flameborn’ an even deeper meaning, I’ve invited my dear friend and vocalist extraordinaire, Marcela Bovio. The duet that “Flameborn” has become is the seal to our friendship and can only be described as classical vocal firework!” [via Metal Insider]

Wargasm are back with not one but two new songs, ‘Circle Pit’ and ‘Bad Seeds,’ their first releases since this summer’s collaborative single with Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, ‘70% Dead.’ True to form, the new tracks find the U.K. electro-punk duo — comprised to Milkie Way and Sam Matlock — in hyperkinetic, fuck-the-world form. Take in the madness via Wargasm’s new two-song music video, complete with biker gangs and desert-set rock-outs, below. “The world is apathetic and lonely, and music is our coping mechanism,” Way and Matlock commented in a joint statement. “Anger is our energy. ‘Circle Pit’ (a rework of a track our Japanese family might already know) is all about the cycle. You can’t break it, so why be part of it? Get in the pit, come out to the coast have a few laughs. ‘Bad Seed’ on the other hand… that’s for those that choose to make the cycle worse. People who waste time being small and hating when there’s so much to create. We’re going back to the start. There’s an intimate club tour coming up that craved some new riffs.” [via Revolver]

Leeds crosssover thrashers Pest Control turned a lot of heads last year with Don’t Test The Pest, a fiery debut LP that caused one reviewer to claim “not since Power Trip has the marriage of thrash and hardcore been as pertinent as it is here.” Now, the Leeds band is keeping the momentum going with a new EP, Year of the Pest, due next week (10/25) via Quality Control/Triple B. It’s got four songs, two of which are out now, and they’re both rippers. Picking up where the LP left off, it’s got fast punk energy, devil-horn-worthy riffage, and the impassioned screams of vocalist Leah Massey-Hay leading the charge. [via Brooklyn Vegan]

Brighton’s electronic post-hardcore duo fakeyourdeath have today released a brand-new A/B side – the follow up to the pairs debut EP null/void. The A/B side features the vicious new single ‘Hello, I’m Feeling Hostile’ and it’s haunting B-side ‘The Was Actually Quite Murderous’ both of which look towards the pain humans inflict on each other to serve themselves; a subject fakeyourdeath find fascinating but always unsurprising. “‘Hello, I’m Feeling Hostile’ is an important track for me both musically & emotionally”, opens fakeyourdeath vocalist Candi Underwood. “At its core, it’s the outpouring of the grief, anger and disgust you feel when those closest to you betray you. It’s unapologetic, more vulnerable than we’ve gone before and almost cruel at times. It’s ugly but I love it”

Wailing Banshee are a five-piece classic metal band hailing from Manchester, UK. They are the new generation of old school heavy metal, with a mission to thrust their traditional influences (Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest) back into the modern scene. After building a strong reputation for themselves in the North-West live scene, the band release their debut single ‘The Oracle’. The track begins with driving guitars, backed up with crashing drums and booming bass, with powerful vocals and soaring solos throughout. Vocalist Dani showcases her emotion and control with raw screams as the track comes to it’s climax. ‘The Oracle’ paints a picture of a fortune tellers warning to a wayward young soul.

Brighton “Nu-Gothika” metal band KNIFE BRIDE have released a raging new single ‘smother (make me suffer)’, which will feature on a new EP don’t dream too much – out August 25. Vocalist Mollie Buckley says the collection is “A trilogy of my gruesome dreams. A one night cycle of disturbing visions.” The music video for ‘smother (make me suffer)’ certainly conjures nightmarish thoughts. The track evokes some seriously messed-up feelings and marries an adoration of sonics spanning a spectrum of Spiritbox to Kate Bush. Says Buckley: “This is the flickery eye, heart racing, electric pulsing part of falling into sleep. I wanted to incorporate the word ‘smother’ into a song ever since being obsessed with the song ‘smother me’ by The Used from the age of 14 – the lyrical content is actually inspired as a response to this song. ‘smother (make me suffer)’ attempts to ‘poke fun’ at the male gaze. The chorus does this by saying “hope I stay fresh for you”, alluding to hoping my corpse is still beautiful, clean, and looking/smelling good – satirically commenting on being a subservient female and letting a man have his cake and eat it.”

Italy’s Raining Nails ft. members of Eternal Silence, Fallen Arise, Oracle Sun, and Sound Storm will be releasing their debut album Human Deeds later this year via Rockshots Records. To introduce their catchy, aggressive, and powerful heavy metal, they are unveiling their first single ‘Anthem’. Vocalist Marika Vanni goes into further detail. “When Max played this track for me, I was struck by the energy it exuded. I have to say that I was afraid that I couldn’t find the right words to express what the music had conveyed to me. I was thinking and thinking about what I could write, and then it was like suddenly waking up. I found myself laughing to myself and thinking, “Hey, but this song is about us!” And this “us” is not just about the members of the Raining Nails; it encapsulates the lives of underground musicians who elbow their way in so that their voices can be heard; it’s about all the men and women who tread this earth and day in and day out struggle to be able to get by and survive.”

Dream State have released a new single, ‘Chin Up Princess’. The track arrives ahead of their set at 2000trees this weekend, and a tour supporting As December Falls this winter. It marks the band’s first new music since the release of their EP Untethered in February this year. Speaking about the new song, the band comment: “’Chin Up Princess’ is a song about having to deal with a narcissist, who’s world falls apart around them as they start to lose everyone and everything close to them, due to bad habits and toxic traits. The music is dark, fierce, and all over the place, mirroring the theme of the lyrics. We worked with producer Dan Weller on this single, who had previously worked with us on our debut album Primrose Path. To us this track feels like a step up and natural evolution from our last release, and we hope you love it as much as we do!” [via Upset]

Los Angeles heavy rockers STITCHED UP HEART are charging toward the release of their new album To The Wolves, and amping it up each step of the way. The band has revealed not only the details of their latest opus, due out September 1 via Century Media Records, but a driving new single ‘Possess Me.’ Tinged with progressive elements, intricate and otherworldly electronics, and vocalist Mixi’s signature emotional scream, the track is both energetic and inspiring. Listeners will find themselves belting out each word right along with Mixi. “’Possess me’ is the most intimate song we have written so far,” Mixi shares. “We went back to our roots with familiar elements from our single ‘Monster’ but with a heavier and modern twist.” [via Metal Planet]

Liquid State are making some serious moves over in the UK at the moment. Delivering a blend of frantic, intricate post-hardcore, littered with atmospheric builds and soaring pop moments, they are on the hottest of streaks right now. And they are continuing that in some style with their latest single, ‘Russian Roulette’. Sitting on the heavier side of the band’s repertoire, it’s a track that grabs the throat, squeezes and smiles. Rallying riffs, break-neck drums and even a guttural breakdown for good measure. It’s bound to get moshpits spinning up and down the country. But the part that sticks out the most is vocalist Keren Ashley. With incredible control over her delivery and tone, bleeding everything she has into every word she utters, it’s a spine-tingling display. The result is a track that showcases a band at the height of their powers. And they are still only getting started. Keren had this to say about the track and what it represents for her: “It’s really about the battle so many of us have with ourselves. How it can feel as if there’s another voice inside of us that tries to lead us astray and take us down from within. It can feel so comforting to listen and lean into it when it feels like there’s nothing else, but it really never moves us in the right direction. That inner voice might be a part of us but it’s not what defines us as people.” [via idobi]

Dream State are back with a new line-up and a new era. The band have introduced new vocalist Jessie Powell, bassist Jake Bowen and drummer Tom Connolly following the departure of CJ Gilpin and Rhys Wilcox earlier this year and Jamie Lee back in 2021. And they have started things off with a massive new song. It’s called ‘Taunt Me’ and is an atmospheric bruiser of the highest calibre. Full of soaring melodies, infectious energy, and crushing changes of pace, it’s a big statement for what is sure to be a fascinating new journey for the band. [via Rocksound]

Relentlessly spinning, the wheel of the year is turning towards darker days, the world is preparing for cold and deprivation. Long forgotten spirits arise from fog, heralding the ‘Exile Of The Gods’. Swiss metal legends Eluveitie release their new single, capturing the desperate, doomy mood of a world that the Gods abandoned long ago. “What have we done? Our hands stained with their blood,” singer Fabienne Erni chants, supported by heavy riffs and soaring melodies. Founding member Chrigel Glanzmann comments: “We are very excited to share our new single ‘Exile Of The Gods’ with you – after ‘Aidus’ the ‘second page’ in Eluveitie’s next chapter. Our current path leads us way back in time. And back to the present! Our new song cycle is all based on a very old mythic text – the hermetic lament. Although it didn’t originate from Celtic culture, we know today that its words were taken on, assimilated, and taught by the Celtic druids henceforth. In the interpretatio celtae it’s teachings were ascribed to the tricephalic Celtic god Lugus. This ancient text contains some kind of a prophecy which holds some very serious and important words for us modern people of today – even if we assume that it’s not talking about our era (which personally I believe it does, though). Among many other things that the lament of Lugus foretells: ‘…of thy faith nothing will remain but an empty tale, which thine own children in time to come will not believe; nothing will be left but graven words, and only the stones will tell of thy piety. For the gods – which once deigned to sojourn upon earth – will return from earth to Antumnos. The gods will depart from mankind, a grievous thing! The world will be left desolate, bereft of the presence of its deities.’ And this is, what our new single is dealing with! However, that ancient text spells out clearly that we’re not simply talking about some mythological, religious or spiritual matters here. For it also talks very clearly about the development of mankind’s relationship with mother earth in that context and points out very concrete actions of ours (today) and their consequences in and for nature, and thus ultimately for us. And so, we are excited to share our brand-new song with you all! And we hope you like it as much as we do and that maybe you even can find some inspiration in it! Enjoy!” [via Bravewords]
