Italian modern metal act Secret Rule unveil their powerful new single ‘Silent Pain’, the third track taken from their upcoming tenth studio album X, due out on October 24 via Rockshots Records.

Following the energetic ‘Just a Sacrifice’ and the evocative ‘Echoes of the Earth’, ‘Silent Pain’ dives into the emotional terrain of hidden suffering. With haunting melodies, cinematic arrangements and raw, confessional lyrics, the song captures the invisible battles we fight behind closed doors—where pain is masked by silence and strength is found in vulnerability.

“‘Silent Pain’ is a song I deeply connect with—it’s about giving a voice to emotions we often keep buried. Singing it felt like releasing something I had been holding in for years”, shares vocalist and lyricist Angela Di Vincenzo.

Musically, the track merges heavy grooves with fragile atmospheres, reflecting the duality of emotional turmoil and healing. Guitarist and producer Andy Menario explains: “I wanted the guitars to echo the internal chaos and quiet desperation behind the lyrics—sometimes heavy, sometimes fragile, just like the human mind.”

Megg Jacobs dives even deeper into the brutal emotional terrain first explored in her previous single ‘ego’ with the release of its companion track, ‘DEATH,’ a volatile meditation on all-or-nothing thinking, illusion, and the chaos that follows the rejection of nuance.

“‘DEATH’ is about the fallout of denying that middle space,” Megg Jacobs shares. “It’s the exhaustion that comes from clinging to black-and-white thinking while everything around you demands complexity.” With her signature fusion of thunderous drums, guttural vocals, and emotionally layered lyrics, Jacobs crafts a deep atmosphere that is as aggressive as it is vulnerable. She describes the track as being stuck in a loop, between glitter in the dirt and dirt in the glitter. One is rot masked by beauty, the other corruption masked by sparkle. “Neither is honest,” she explains. “Both are masks we wear to avoid nuance: the real discomfort of being human.” The new single builds on the themes of ego death and transformation first introduced in ‘ego,’ capturing the psychological wear-and-tear that results from resisting the complicated truths of being alive.

Renowned J-Metal group, BABYMETAL have released their highly anticipated new album METAL FORTH via Capitol Records. Along with the release, the group put out a new music video for their explosive track ‘My Queen’ (feat. Spiritbox).

Hotly-tipped Floridian quintet, Not Enough Space have released their powerful new single ‘Don’t Let Go,’ the latest offering from their forthcoming debut full-length album Weaponize Your Rage, set for release on September 12 via Thriller Records.

‘Don’t Let Go’ confronts the desperate beauty of clinging to hope when everything else is unraveling. With soaring emotion and crushing intensity, the track is a poignant showcase of the band’s ability to fuse raw vulnerability with unrelenting force.

“‘Don’t Let Go,’ captures the experience of facing struggles and hardships together with your partner,” Not Enough Space explains. “It highlights the importance of holding on through difficult times and not losing sight of each other. Blending soft, somber moments with bursts of energy and intensity, the song reflects the emotional depth of embracing both the highs and lows of love.”

Brighton’s self-defined ‘Brat Metal’ trio Eville, made up of singer/guitarist Eva Sheldrake, bassist/singer/producer Jude Richards, and drummer Milo Hemsley, have announced their debut EP BRAT METAL, set for release on October 17. The announcement is made ahead of the band’s hotly-anticipated appearance at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival.

Leading the charge is new single ‘BR4T MBL’ (pronounced brat mobile), a high-octane anthem inspired by Fast & Furious, Need for Speed, and the hyper-feminine aesthetics of Y2K icons like Paris Hilton. The track is packed with car-themed wordplay – with each line in the first verse shifting gears, from “FIRST off the line, you’re a SECOND too late” and beyond – delivering an empowering message that firmly puts women in the driver’s seat. The bold, glossy video brings the concept to life in full throttle.

Speaking of the track, vocalist Eva Sheldrake shares, “We wanted to write an empowering song that puts women in the driver’s seat for a change.”

Portland’s Dying Wish specialize in a particularly brutal form of metalcore. Emma Boster can actually sing when she isn’t bringing the hellfire beast-roars, and the band really steers into that ability on their new song ‘I’ll Know You’re Not Around,’ the lead single from the upcoming LP Flesh Stays Together. The heavy parts feel heavier because of the ominous beauty in Boster’s voice, and when the breakdown comes in, they bring it.

Flesh Stays Together follows Dying Wish’s 2023 album Symptoms Of Survival, as well as ‘I Brought You My Soul (Your World Brought Me Despair),’ the one-off single that came out earlier this year. Dying Wish recorded Flesh Stays Together with Knocked Loose collaborator Will Putney, and ‘I’ll Know You’re Not Around’ has a lot of that band’s sincere guttural lurch. Dying Wish already tour big rooms, but if the rest of the record sounds like this, I could see them following Knocked Loose into even bigger ones.

Dying Wish member Pedro Carrillo co-directed the ‘I’ll Know You’re Not Around’ video with Eric Richter, and it’s got all the bloody theatricality that you’d hope.

Finnish heavy metal powerhouse BATTLE BEAST continues their unstoppable rise with the release of their brand-new single and music video ‘Here We Are‘. With this new single, the band officially announces their highly anticipated seventh studio album Steelbound, set to be released on October 17 via Nuclear Blast.

‘Here We Are‘ marks the third single taken from Steelbound, and it’s a bold, unapologetic anthem of resilience and unity. Armed with thunderous riffs, powerful vocals, and infectious hooks, the song captures the spirit of overcoming adversity and standing strong together.

Song writer Joona Björkroth comments: “‘Here We Are’ captures that moment after the storm has passed — you’ve faced challenges, been tested, and somehow come through the other side a little stronger, a bit wiser, and perhaps a bit more grounded. Things might not have gone perfectly, but you’ve endured. The song is a tribute to perseverance and resilience — to standing tall just the way you are, nothing more, nothing less.”

Noora Louhimo adds: “We’ve all been down in the depths – each of us and all of us together. Still we’ve always gotten back up, even if bruised and bloodied. And here we are still, stronger than ever. No matter how tough the journey, we’re always stronger when we face it together”

The track is paired with a stunning music video that brings its message to life in true BATTLE BEAST fashion: dramatic, powerful, and visually striking.

UK metal outfit CAGE FIGHT have released a brand new single. Titled ‘IHYG (I Hate Your Guts)’, the new track marks the band’s first new music since the release of their self-titled debut album, which was released back in May 2022, via Candlelight Records. The song features deeply personal lyrics from vocalist Rachel Aspe, detailing a bleak and traumatic experience. The new music video was directed by Shaun Hodson (Loki Films).

Speaking about the new song, vocalist Rachel Aspe says, “’IHYG‘is a response to a deeply traumatic experience that had a life changing impact on me. It crushed my confidence and self-worth which spiralled me to rock bottom, but I’ve become stronger and more resilient than ever. This experience inspired me to write lyrics for the first time, resulting in this song. The video tells this story.”

Guitarist James Monteith adds, “since the release of our debut album we’ve been through some changes and significantly evolved as a unit. We’ve gotten to know each other much more musically and personally, and the result is a much more honed vision of CAGE FIGHT. IHYG is the first taste of what’s to come. We’re also excited to finally release new music with our new bassist Will Horsman.”

Face Yourself have unleashed vicious single ‘Fractures’, taken from their upcoming EP Fury. With the full EP set to arrive on September 26 via Sumerian Records, the track dissects the violence of beauty standards and self-hatred.

Speaking on ‘Fractures’, vocalist Yasmine Liverneaux has shared: “We are excited to release our new single ‘Fractures’ produced by Joey Sturgis. The lyrics explore a darker theme, as it speaks a lot about self hatred, exploring the pressure of beauty standards and the “mutilations” those pressures can lead someone to. It’s like changing your appearance so much to fit a mould to the point that you don’t even recognise yourself which can be very violent.”

Electro-emo angst-pop trio AIR DRAWN DAGGER have released new track ‘Sanctifound’. It’s the third track from their upcoming debut album A Guide For Apparitions, set for release on April 4 via Long Branch Records. The accompanying music video was directed by Aaran McKenzie (While She Sleeps).

“Keeping the acoustic guitar for the intro riff (inspired by Lamb of God) catapults us into a realm which is intense, rainy and unsettling. We are introduced to the album’s protagonists ‘The Martyrs’ and welcomed with open arms, we are indoctrinated into the fold, warned against evil in the lake and thrust into the mosh pits as the synths and riffs hit hard,” says the band on the new track.

Running the gamut between the heaviest and poppiest of genres, Brighton duo Lake Malice’s new single ‘Scatterbrain’, released with illustrative music video, is as mind-melting as it sounds. Alice Guala and Blake Cornwall, who self-produced the track, have drawn influences from forward-thinking artists as diverse as Enter Shikari, Loathe, Charli XCX, Grimes and Bring Me The Horizon to explosive effect.

Blake says “’Scatterbrain’ is about feeling disillusioned and overwhelmed in modern day society. The repeating chant: “Spin, wash, repeat, mind, soul, body, neat” is a metaphor for struggling to keep up in a chronically online, superficial and capitalistic society, leaving little time to take care of yourself and make meaningful social connections.

“The line “I can’t trust my bank, I’ve no five year plan, but I’m so good at dreaming” is a commentary on the unrealistic expectations to achieve the same prospects and goals of older generations. Despite having constant access to each other’s lives through social media, we have never felt more disconnected from the world around us and anxious to leave our homes.

“The themes of desperation and frustration are reflected musically by glitchy, hyper-pop-inspired rhythms, in contrast with an anthemic rock chorus and anger-fuelled, modern metalcore guitar riffs.”

Formed in Minsk, Belarus, two previous album releases by alternative metal group Mission Jupiter have hinted at their potential to be one of the few acts from that territory to achieve lift-off worldwide. Having recruited powerhouse singer Kate Varsak prior to writing and recording their upcoming third album, Aftermath, the result is a set of dramatic, epic songs with thoroughly modern production values that should see them soar.

‘Self-Destruction’ has been released as the latest single to be teased from the record. The heaviest and punchiest song by Mission Jupiter to date, the band explain that the story behind it is deeply personal and refers to a battle with mental disorder. “When you’re feeling down, it feels like the parasite living inside you has won, and you’re stuck in mental and physical discomfort forever. The only way to survive is to take a pill to ease the pain. We hope this song will resonate with our listeners on a profound level.”

Canadian dark pop act The Birthday Massacre have released a new single entitled ‘Sleep Tonight’, the first to be issued from their upcoming album Pathways, which is set for release on April 11 via Metropolis Records.

“’Sleep Tonight’ is a song about being haunted by our own ghosts,” the band explain. “Memories and regrets follow us as we try to find comfort. Even the most familiar and safe places can feel sinister as we wrestle with these feelings that we often bury deep within ourselves.”

Sleep Tonight by The Birthday Massacre

Bleeth, the Cuban-American trio from Miami, emerges once again with their crushing blend of stoner metal and sludge metal , unveiling their latest single, ‘Monarchs’. This track serves as the first glimpse into their upcoming album Marionette, a visceral exploration of control, fear, and resilience, set for release in April/May.

‘Monarchs’ takes inspiration from the awe-inspiring Sequoia trees , often called the “Kings of the Forest.” The track serves as both a tribute to nature’s power and a warning against human negligence. Vocalist Lauren Palma recalls the devastating 2021 Sequoia National Park fires , reflecting on the destruction of these ancient giants. The song draws parallels between the collapse of monarchies —brought down by arrogance and short-sightedness—and the ongoing environmental crises caused by greed and recklessness. Just as unchecked power leads to downfall, unchecked human activity threatens to consume the very world we inhabit.

With the recent fires in Los Angeles serving as yet another grim reminder, ‘Monarchs’ feels more urgent than ever. Bleeth invites listeners to immerse themselves in the track’s crushing weight and contemplate the fragility of both nature and civilization.

Canadian heavy rock force THE FIXER has unleashed the official music video for ‘Tongue’s Bleeding,’ taken from their debut full-length album Your Lie (Wormholedeath Records). Filmed during their massive 40-date ‘Love and Misfortune’ Tour across Canada, the video captures the band’s electrifying live energy and unfiltered intensity.

Last fall, DJERV released the song ‘Rebel Heart’ as part of the official soundtrack for Season Two of the critically acclaimed Netflix series Arcane. What happens when Norwegian hard rock collides with one of the world’s most iconic series? The answer is ‘Rebel Heart’ – a track that created magic in a pivotal and emotional scene in Arcane, topping global charts and captivating millions.

Now the long-awaited music video, produced by Helmet, is finally here. Erlend Gjerde shares details about the filming process: “The video was shot in an equestrian hall in Trondheim. It was two long and insanely cold days, especially for Agnete, who was covered in wet clay for most of the shoot. Helmet arranged for heating tents and everything, but it was still cold AS F%#.”

The video’s setting is a dark and dusty landscape, which eventually erupts into intense flashes of red and green lights. The typography and architecture are inspired by Arcane, with multiple nods to the universe.

Vocalist Agnete Kjølsrud has also been inspired by creating music for the game, the series and not least the character Jinx. She says: “It’s wonderful to feel the presence of Jinx again! I feel like I’m holding her hand in ‘Rebel Heart’. A hidden part of me is totally uncompromising, and in this song I feel a kind of freedom, even though the sadness is imminent.”

Erlend continues: “We wanted to convey a lot of energy and intensity while reflecting ‘Arcane’ and the League of Legends universe that the song is tied to. It feels great to finally release a proper video, even though the single came out a little while ago. A single release doesn’t feel truly complete until the music video is out as well, so we’re excited to share it with the world!”

EMPLOYED TO SERVE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Fallen Star’, is the title track UK metal band’s upcoming new album which is scheduled to be released in April this year, via Spinefarm Records.

Speaking about the new song, and its accompanying music video, vocalist Justine Jones shares, “’Fallen Star’ is about enduring the burn out of someone close to us. It can be devastating to look on helplessly as someone you care for continues to fly too close to the sun and not learn from it. Sometimes you need to just distance yourself and love them from afar. We felt it should be the title track as it thematically centers around the lyrics of the new record. Breaking bad habits and overcoming the challenges life throws our way. The music video for this song displays the space and isolation felt whilst writing the lyrics for this song. As the title track of the album we wanted to make the video look as expansive and ethereal as the song.”

FORLORN have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Keeper Of The Well’, is taken from the UK folk horror metal band’s upcoming debut album, Aether, which is scheduled to be released in March this year, via Church Road Records.

“Water is a vital part of human existence,” shares vocalist Megan Jenkins about the new single. “With the power to heal, renew and nourish, yet we curse ourselves and the creatures within by not respecting it. We must do more to honour and care for our sacred wells, rivers, lakes and oceans.”

DYING WISH have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘I Brought You My Soul (Your World Brought Me Despair)’, and marks their first new music since their latest studio album, Symptoms Of Survival, which was released back in October 2023, via SharpTone Records. The new single was produced by Will Putney.

Speaking about the new single, vocalist Emma Boster shares, “’I Brought You My Soul…’ is written about being one of many affected by the state of the world we are living in. Constantly witnessing the brutality and injustices has taken a toll on our collective mental health. [The lyric] ‘I am miserable yet I am sane’ references that being impacted by these tragedies happening in Gaza and on our own American soil in fact makes us normal. I fear that one day we will become numb to the events as they become more violent because we are so conditioned to living with it every day.

“This is the first step in the direction of our third LP and the goal from this album is to challenge ourselves to create something different from the first two releases. Throughout the last four years of those records we have dialed in our sound and ethos as a band. We hope that the artwork direction proves as an example that we’re innovating our style to become the most authentic version of DYING WISH.”

Deathless Legacy has released a video for ‘Sanctified’, the third single taken from the new concept album Damnatio Aeterna to be released on March 7 by Scarlet Records.

‘Sanctified’ is about trauma processing and the scars it leaves behind. A transformation of pain into strength, of wounds into perseverance. It speaks of faith shattered, silence endured, and the slow, sacred process of reclaiming oneself through the very marks left by suffering.

Directed by Frater Orion, the video for ‘Sanctified’ conjures a ritualistic portrayal of suffering embraced as a passage to something greater. Through eerie aesthetics and visceral storytelling, it unveils a journey where torment is no longer a weight to bear, but a path to inner awakening. [via Grimm Gent]

German’s Enemy Inside want you to get caught up in the web of metalcore and nu-rock sounds they’ve spun throughout their just-released album, Venom. Coincidentally, the band are preying upon each other like a bunch of headbanging arachnids in the new creature-featuring video for the record’s title track.

The body horror-esque video, which is being premiered through Revolver, was produced by Jonas Sommer and conceived by Enemy Inside vocalist Nastassja Giulia. As the song bounds through a series of compound djent sections and anthemic, Aughts-era nu-metal hooks, Giulia whispers, growls and croons of escaping the grasp of a false friend, and growing into a bold new person.

As that’s all going on, we see various members of Enemy Inside banging through the track in a dank room, though they eventually get tangled up in an overwhelming amount of cobwebs. Then, as if she just found another vial of spider serum hanging around Gremlins 2’s Clamp Center, Giulia starts prowling around the joint as a menacing, multi-legged monster.

“The title track is about toxic people—those who manipulate, mistreat, and drag you down,” the vocalist explained in a statement. “It’s about breaking free, reclaiming your power, and shifting from prey to predator. Every encounter leaves a mark, but instead of letting their ‘venom’ weaken you, it fuels your strength.” [via Revolver]

Huge Hot Milk news! The band have announced their second album Corporation P.O.P, and dropped a brand-new single entitled ’90 Seconds To Midnight’.

The band will be releasing the follow-up to their breakout debut A CALL TO THE VOID on June 27 via Music For Nations, with Jim Shaw describing the record as “a flurry of thoughts, feelings, ramblings from the afters and questions about where we’re at right now in England, the further western world and emotionally.

Get your first taste of all of that with ’90 Seconds To Midnight’, with an accompanying video starring none other than Frank Skinner.

“The Doomsday Clock is nearing midnight and this frantic song sets the mood for the oncoming nuclear winter,” explains Han. “We wanted to punch you proper in the face with this, this balls-to-the-wall little riffy boy comes bounding at you relentlessly.

“Lyrically we took inspiration from 17th century philosopher Rousseau and the poet John Betjemen with his poem Slough. Rousseau set out that humanity would never be free as we create our own shackles. In this case, we’ve created our own demise. Whereas Betjemen’s poem takes this notion of demise and laughs at it, inviting the nukes in ‘come friendly bombs’… Let’s set the gaff on fire and start again.” [via Kerrang!]

“Nu-gothika” innovators KNIFE BRIDE have completed a nightmarish trilogy of tracks titled don’t dream too much with the release of new single ‘permanent s m i l e’. This cut represents the most vivid part of sleep where dreams are so in reach that you could wake up and put yourself back there. It propels the band’s ability to collide vibrant pop sensibilities and a moody metal aura to new levels of creativity. Vocalist Mollie Buckley says “‘permanent s m i l e’ is a romanticised revenge narrative. I’ve always been fascinated with films like ‘I Spit On Your Grave’, ‘Hard Candy’, and ‘Promising Young Woman’ and that’s definitely where the concept for the song came from. Retribution is always sweet… or so says cinema.” Buckley proclaims the collection as a whole is “A trilogy of my gruesome dreams. A one night cycle of disturbing visions.”

Hyperia is a Canadian melodic thrash metal band known for wailing vocals, shredding guitars, and fast, heavy drums. Formed in 2018, Hyperia combines elements of aggressive thrash with intricate guitar melodies alongside a wide variety of vocal styles, which have been showcased on an EP and two albums thus far, with the third full-length slated for release this November. The first single off The Serpent’s Cycle is the blistering ‘Prophet Of Deceit’, which takes a more serious tone than the other tracks on the album. The band comments: “This track brings us back into a serious mood, it is a quite melodic and technical song starting off with blistering guitar into a full-force attack of drums. The working title for this song was ‘Shredlord Supreme’, which should give you an idea of what to expect. This song is about the problems we have with certain members of society and gaslighting. It’s a hard-hitting track that is full of energy throughout.”

With just a little less than a month left before their upcoming studio effort Jailbreak is released, Nervosa has dropped the title track and accompanying music video. Featuring a classic thrash metal attack that’s undeniable, ‘Jailbreak’ is the kind of track that’s sure to get you in the mood to open up a pit. Speaking about the single, guitarist and founding member Prika Amaral said it helped forge the rest of the album, serving almost as a template for what they wanted to do for the rest of their time in the studio. “This song is the roots of this new album. Helena and I love motorcycles, and wanted to write a song that gives freedom to the people, because this is how we feel when we ride our motorcycles. Also, ‘Jailbreak’ has one of the biggest guitar duos – people will be surprised when we play this song live. I can’t wait for that!” As for the overall feel of the song, guitarist Helena Kotina said it’s got a more rock vibe than anything else on the record. “For me, ‘Jailbreak’ feels like the most heavy but also pure rock ‘n’ roll song on the album. It combines fast roaring guitars together with melodies and has this rebellious vibe.” [via Metal Sucks]

Dying Wish are keeping the hype rolling for their new album, Symptoms of Survival. The Portland metalcore unit will be dropping their sophomore LP later this fall, and after announcing a U.S. headlining tour a couple weeks back, now they’ve unleashed a third single from the album called ‘Lost in the Fall.’ While the track certainly has similarities to the previous two singles, ‘Torn From Your Silhouette’ and ‘Watch My Promise Die,’ ‘Lost in the Fall’ might be the most ambitious song Dying Wish have ever released. The breakdowns are clobbering, as fans have come to expect from Dying Wish. But the song opens up during its bridge and frontperson Emma Boster murmurs softly above mournful piano, with no guitars or drums to speak of. Eventually, the full band comes crashing back in, and Boster carries ‘Lost in the Fall’ to a triumphant conclusion, belting with more gusto than ever before. [via Revolver]

Canadian metal band, The Fixer, has officially inked a deal with Wormholedeath for the release of their highly anticipated album, Your Lie, scheduled to drop on all digital platforms on November 10. Alongside this exciting announcement, The Fixer is thrilled to present their debut single and accompanying music video, ‘Smoke Show.’ ‘Smoke Show,’ sets the stage for The Fixer’s dark rock sound and visual aesthetic. The accompanying official music video for ‘Smoke Show’ provides a mesmerizing and immersive experience, inviting listeners into The Fixer’s hauntingly captivating world.

Modern metal sensation Conspiracy of Blackness has inked a deal with Wormholedeath for the reissue of their critically acclaimed album Pain Therapy. The highly anticipated re-release is scheduled for September 22, and promises to captivate metal enthusiasts with its powerful and aggressive sound. Witness the captivating power of Conspiracy of Blackness by watching their official music video for ‘Welcome Death’ below.

Emerging from the vibrant UK Metal scene, Broken Calling is back to shake the foundations of the genre with their anthemic and heaviest release to date – ‘VIRUS’. Bringing forth the raw intensity and the electrifying dynamics that they’re known for, Broken Calling are adding another exciting dimension to their sound with the addition of the new vocalist, Tanzy Velane. Her voice, laced with power and grit, imbues a fresh energy into the band’s core, driving their signature sound to new, explosive heights. ‘VIRUS’ is more than just a Metalcore track; it’s a scathing commentary on the plague of social media, that omnipresent entity influencing our lives. The song echoes the silent cries of countless individuals pressurized into painting a perfect picture for the world to judge, while their authentic selves remain hidden beneath layers of pretense. It’s a rallying cry for truth, resonating with the anger and attitude that Broken Calling has become synonymous with.

Taking aim at those who doubted her return to songwriting and performing post-pregnancy, 51st Avenue’s Alynnis Zizza is empowered, fierce and forthright in their new single ‘Mind Your Own’. Pulling sonic inspirations from artists such as Bring Me The Horizon, alongside the score of hit series Stranger Things, the Sydney trio are continuing to expand on their proclaimed ‘hyper-modern pop rock’ sound with ‘Mind Your Own’. Thick guitars and syncopated drums back Alynnis Zizza’s impassioned, soaring vocals throughout, with the track culminating in a colossal bridge with guitar leads atop a half-time final chorus. Using technology to their advantage, 51st Avenue constructed the initial beat and synths for ‘Mind Your Own’ using a phone app. After scoping out the fledgling pieces of the track here, the rest of the song came together quickly, with the band combining with a sole direction for the track. Recording out of Keywork Audio in Sydney with Mark Williamson (Inertia, After Touch, Broken Earth), the band then sent the track across to legendary producer Kris Crummett (Dance Gavin Dance, Sleeping With Sirens, Real Friends) for the finishing touches and mastering. “We knew straight away what we were going for musically when we wrote this track,” the band say. “We wanted to blend the styles of Bring Me The Horizon with the eerie vibes of the Stranger Things score. The lyrics came quickly as our vocalist, Alynnis, was very early in her pregnancy so it was at the forefront of her mind giving the track the lyrical message it has. It started as a beat and some synths made on a phone app. The rest of the track came together pretty quickly, we wanted a specific vibe for the track so we knew what direction we wanted to head in. We’re really happy how it turned out!”

Conquer Divide have revealed a stunning video for new single ‘N E W H E A V E N’. “N E W H E A V E N was born out of the idea that you’ll never be satisfied with what you have if you don’t define your expectations,” the band offers. “We got together in Atlanta with Johnny Andrews for this one, and he’s a musical mad scientist. We played with religious metaphors, although the song is not about religion. You throw your whole life into something, and then you finally reach the pinnacle and get to pull the proverbial curtain back, but it’s not what you expected at all. So now you need a new high to chase. We did crowd-sourced gang vocals on this one, and it was fun to make that come together.” As for the accompanying video, the band shares, “This video was sort of a continuation from last music video where in the opening scene you see the Grim Reaper take his hood off to reveal he is now the priest overseeing the funeral. Kia figuratively ‘went to heaven’ and came back after realizing heaven wasn’t what it was cracked up to be.”

Brighton’s Industrial / Post Metal band Tribe Of Ghosts have today shared a brand new single titled ‘HIVE’. ‘HIVE’ is an all out barrage of frenetic and furious sound design and a vicious addition to Tribe Of Ghosts genre-melting discography that depicts a first person view of a world spoilt by dehumanisation and barbarous oppression. “When we were writing Hive, we felt that we were at a point where we understood our sound and what we wanted to create. With this in mind, we wanted to craft a song that sets the scene of the world that we build with our music, that explores the electronic and the organic, and declares our intent of giving into the chaos that oozes out of us on stage and in the writing process,” says guitarist Adam Sedgwick.

Portland metalcore band Dying Wish have announced their sophomore album, Symptoms of Survival, due November 4 via SharpTone Records. “Symptoms of Survival is an eleven-part piece covering the complexity of human suffering in all forms,” says vocalist Emma Boster. “From the honest and personal perspective of heartbreak, painful trauma, loss, rage, and regret — to the more objective perspective of war, greed, and ultimate survival.” The album features recent single ‘Torn From Your Silhouette,’ as well as the just-released ‘Watch My Promise Die.’ The new song has a great mix of melody and aggression and Emma says it’s “about the overwhelming anxiety of pre-destined failure. When you commit everything you have to one area of your life, the idea of it falling apart looms with such heavy importance. The song is written from the perspective of toying with that fear, allowing your weakness to overcome before you lose everything in a means outside of your control.” Check out the song and its Anthony Altamura-directed video below.
After the release of their very successful self-titled album Beyond The Black in January 2023, the band now share brand new single ‘Call My Name’ with their fans. Beyond The Black have also just announced their Dancing In The Dark European tour for 2024. Jennifer Haben comments: “With ‘Call My Name’ we wanted to create a song with whom you cannot help but bang your head real hard. It’s organic, honest and in your face. Inspired by the story of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower we’ve formed a symbiosis of its elements and our own to tell a whole new tale about yearning, persistence and these wounds of human life that feel as if they will never heal completely.” [via Metal Planet]

Sydney based heavy rockers Wicked Envy have released their devilish new single and music video called ‘Paralysis Demon’. The hard-hitting single encourages listeners to reach out for help when struggling with their mental health. “’Paralysis Demon’ was written about my personal struggles with anxiety and insomnia, in everyday life. This song will hit home for a lot of people who also struggle with these feelings and that’s exactly why I really needed to convey this into a song, to let people know they’re not alone in this demonic mind battle and it’s ok to ask for help,” says vocalist Desiree Hancock.
Nashville heavy duo Friendship Commanders present a new video for ‘Vampire’ from their upcoming album Mass, out September 29. Guitarist/vocalist Buick Audra says about the track: “There was a season at the end of my time in Boston where I was being turned into The Problem by someone who wanted to control me and couldn’t; it was a moment where I could have played small and gone along with what she wanted, as I had once done. But I didn’t. I played big. I kept what was mine instead of giving it away—which included parts of my identity. And while the result was a scorched earth reality that impacts my sense of self to this day, it also ended the whole thing. I learned a valuable lesson in that season: don’t fuel the narcissists. Keep your power for yourself. It’s what they hate. And if they’re going to drag your character out in front of everyone you know, you might as well burn it all down for the warmth.” [via Decibel Mag]

Charming dark cabaret metal adepts TARDIGRADE INFERNO announces the impending release of their new EP, Arrival of a Train. This four-song spectacle of dark, avant-garde metal is due out on May 17. TARDIGRADE INFERNO plunged into the creative process and even slightly damaged the space-time continuum while creating the Arrival of a Train EP in their dark laboratory. From the test tubes a circus organ creaks ominously and fat guitars pour, alternated with a double kick. And on the top reigns a unique, artistic, one-of-a-kind vocal that turns each song into a theatrical performance. This is the first musical work since 2021 that has gathered several stories that, as usual, pose questions without obvious answers. The irony in the lyrics is getting more subtle, the symbolism intensifies, and the riffs are getting heavier. The dark hypnotism of the unalterable front-woman Darya, coupled with expressive unique vocals caressing the ear and sincere performance, fascinates and cuts to the bone. Check out the video for the title track below. [via Velvet Thunder]

The tough and frantic Chicago hardcore band Buggin, formerly known as Buggin Out, have been absolutely crushing shit in the three years since they released their self-titled debut EP. We last heard from Buggin when they dropped the 55-second ripper ‘Attitude’ back in December. Now, Buggin have announced plans to release their full-length debut Concrete Cowboys later this year. First single ‘All Eyes On You’ is an absolute monster. Buggin play fast and mean, with a whole ton of bounce. Singer Bryanna Bennett has presence and charisma to burn. On ‘All Eyes On You,’ she barks over pummeling riffage before the band chugs through a couple of breakdowns that should lead to absolute insanity in a live-show situation. Below, check out director Lars Juveland’s frantic ‘All Eyes On You’ video. [via Stereogum]

Italian trance metal band Reasons Behind have filmed a music video for the track ‘Heart Begins To Break’. Directed by Matteo Ermeti, the clip can be viewed below. Reasons Behind issue third full-length studio album Architecture Of An Ego on May 26 through Scarlet Records. Architecture Of An Ego lyrically features a dystopian story conceived by band leader, songwriter and guitarist Gabriele Sapori, once again, concerning human relationships.
Dying Wish have released ‘Torn From Your Silhouette,’ their first new single since their great 2021 debut album Fragments Of A Bitter Memory. It’s a melodic metalcore rager with an equal emphasis on soaring hooks and unfiltered aggression, and here’s what vocalist Emma Boster says about it: “‘Torn From Your Silhouette’ is written about taking the risk of being vulnerable with another person, only to find they have dishonest intentions and take advantage of your willingness to love. While writing this song, I was tender from a recent heartache. I felt as if society’s standard for romance had become increasingly casual. While that felt comfortable for me for a while, I had grown into a place in my life where I was seeking more from my connections with other people. I was ready to tear down the walls I had put up to protect myself. This song is about accepting that would result in what I had feared the most: rejection and pain. The line “I’d rather feel everything than nothing at all” is particularly important to me. I took pride in the feeling that I had at least given myself the opportunity to fail rather than continue to contribute to a repeating cycle of being numb to surface level attachments. Thanks for listening.” Check out the song and its Anthony Altamura-directed video below. [via Brooklyn Vegan]

MISSION IN BLACK release the title track ‘Profit Reigns Supreme’ from the upcoming album. In contrast to the first single ‘What Does It Take To Be Alive’, ‘Profit Reigns Supreme’ is much darker and harder, an indictment against the financial economy and value system: Who draws the line between ethics and prosperity? MISSION IN BLACK will release the long-awaited second album on May 12. Band founders Andy “Black” Flache and Daniel Tschoepe, together with Simon Schorp, vocal wonder Steffi Stuber and the new guitarist Eddie Stübner, have been able to use the time since the highly acclaimed debut album Anthem Of A Dying Breed to write 10 brand new songs and sharpen their own contours.
