Tickets to Ecca’s upcoming headline tour go on general sale at 9am BST on Friday with artist pre-sale available from 9am BST tomorrow.

Colliding punk, industrial rock, and hip-hop energy, ‘VERTICAL WORLDS’ is Ecca’s latest offering, joining previously released singles from LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW, ‘SORRY! CRASH!,’ ‘MOLLY,’ ‘CRUISING TO SELF SOOTHE,’ ‘BLEED BUT NEVER DIE,’ and ‘THEN THERE’S ONE.’

Speaking on the new release, Ecca says “The songs sit in this space of shedding old skin and questioning systems and expectations, which is something I’ve felt up against a lot of the time. It was really about turning inherited ideas upside down and trying to figure things out on your own terms. There’s a lot of frustration in it, but also a sense of freedom.”

The album was recorded and produced by Richie Buxton and Ecca Vandal in Buxton’s childhood bedroom.

“We cut out everything that didn’t serve us, the timelines, the metrics, the pressure to ‘stay visible’ online,” says Ecca. “We tuned out of the feed and turned inwards. In Richie’s childhood bedroom, we built a tiny home studio, four walls that became a universe. The internet was painfully slow, so we were truly disconnected from the online game. Deep in bayside Melbourne, far from our inner-city friends, that little room became our whole world for nearly two years. It held all our chaos and all our clarity, a little ‘playpen’ where we could live, play and experiment like teenagers again. We started making things with our hands again, tangible, imperfect, and real. We wanted to celebrate long-form, the idea of an album as a whole body of work, while the world was chasing 15-second snippets and algorithm friendly noise.

“So we left behind the room packed with industry chatter and opinions, and created our own little haven. And honestly, it was magic. The best decision we’ve ever made.”

Now, she shares her new single ‘MOLLY’, which arrives with a music video directed by Ecca Vandal and Richie Buxton shot in Ballarat, Australia. Ecca and Richie are the masterminds behind all of Ecca Vandal’s visuals to date, creating the vibrant and electric world that Ecca’s sonics live in. ‘MOLLY’ follows her Alternative Press cover story that was released last week, where Ecca spoke about her specific sound that’s shaking up the conversation and hints at a forthcoming full-length project to come.

Speaking about ‘MOLLY’, Ecca shares, “There’s the surface meaning, the chaos, the high, that kind of bliss that comes from forgetting things for a while, from turning the volume down on the world. But underneath all that, there’s something quieter going on – the feeling of being cut down, sometimes broken into pieces, and then slowly finding your way back, getting up again, rebuilding yourself bit by bit.”
