Writing this song helped me process my own feelings while also recognising how deeply human and natural these emotions are.”

“We experimented with different textures of sound, such as nylon guitar, percussions, and synthesizers, and it definitely gives a dimension that is different from the previous releases. The songstress tells us about the concept behind the single, “Being mixed race and overweight, I used to get bullied at school and many times, I felt like an outcast. ‘KING OF THE NIGHT’ is inspired by my early teen experience as an outcast in hopes of encouraging many kids out there to embrace who they are. My producer, Tim, and I wanted to experiment with a different texture that somehow contrasts each other, such as coming from soft auto-tune vocals to a big chant-like chorus, and an electronic beat to a marching band section.”

Speaking of the single, ena mori tells us: “I wanted to write a song dedicated to my friends and the youth. As the world revolves constantly, we tend to forget what it is that we truly want in our lives, what is important. SOS is about standing up for what you care about and what you believe in. I’d like to inspire every person who struggles to find their life’s passion. Since SOS came from a post-war 60s theme, Tim (Producer) and I wanted to recreate the quirky-ness and the sarcasm through the production. With an upbeat tempo and a percussive bass, we wanted to make a song that you could do “the swim” with.”
