For those who like dark and intense music with a distinctive point of view, IN THIS MOMENT have always supplied the goods, and their new single ‘Heretic (feat. Kim Dracula)’ is as uncompromising as ever. It combines haunting modern soundscapes, ferocious vocals, and a doomsday metal assault, with unflinching lyrics like “I am not your pain or your remedy/I am not your faith or your vanity/I don’t want your gold or your filth/That you give and you take.”

‘Heretic (feat. Kim Dracula)’ marks the first new music to be released from the GRAMMY® Award-nominated Los Angeles band’s upcoming as-yet-untitled ninth album and debut for Better Noise Music.

“We are so excited to unveil our new song ‘Heretic,’ featuring the incomparable Kim Dracula,” says IN THIS MOMENT in a combined statement. “From the first time we heard that incredible voice, we knew we wanted to collaborate. We cannot wait for the world to hear what happens when we join forces on a song like ‘Heretic.’”

Spanish rock band Strangers share their new visualizer video ‘Still The One’, taken from the upcoming studio album, entitled Boundless, out on August 22 via Frontiers Music Srl.

The band commented: “’Still The One’ is a heavy and powerful track, featuring strong guitars and high energy throughout. It highlights our intense hard rock style.”

Australian heavy metal titans TEMTRIS return with the blistering new single ‘Scars Of Betrayal’, the second offering from their highly anticipated eighth studio album, Queen of Crows, due for release on August 8 via Wormholedeath.

Hamilton and Toronto-based Sumo Cyco have announced that they will be releasing a new album. It is called NEON VOID and will be out on October 24. The album features 12 songs, including their previously released single ‘Villains’. The band has also released a video for their new song ‘Shivers’ which was directed and produced by lead singer Skye Sweetnam.

ENEMY INSIDE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Innocent’, is taken from the German alternative/symphonic metal band’s brand new album, Venom, which was released back in February, via Reigning Phoenix Music. The single was previously only available as part of the physical edition of the album.

Speaking about the single, the band shares, “it’s a song about guilt, hypocrisy, and the human tendency to judge others while ignoring our own flaws. Inspired by the biblical quote ‘Let he who is without sin cast the first stone,’ it’s a reminder that before we point fingers, we should take a hard look at ourselves.”

BURNING WITCHES have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘High Priestess Of The Night,’ is taken from the Swiss heavy metal band’s upcoming new album, Inquisition, which is scheduled to be released in August this year, via Napalm Records.

Speaking about the new song, the band shares, “we chose this good-vibed yet still heavy-themed, catchy mid-tempo song as a second single. This will be an ear catcher and a hip shaker for sure at live shows. This song is a must for everybody… it’s simple but it’s also the way of every metalhead. If you are a metalhead, you will like ‘High Priestess Of The Night’!”

BLACKBRIAR have released a brand new single. The new music video, for the track ‘A Last Sigh Of Bliss,’ is taken from the Dutch symphonic metal band’s upcoming album A Thousand Little Deaths, which is scheduled to be released in August this year, via Nuclear Blast Records.

Speaking about the new song, vocalist Zora Cock says, “as the scent of honeysuckle drifts into your bedroom window on a warm summer’s night, this song intoxicates you into a fever dream. Like a bee drowning in honey, you know you’ll die, and yet, you ache for nothing more. It’s a sultry, seductive, and euphoric song with heavy guitars and a chorus that makes you want to run barefoot through a moonlit field in a lace gown.”

Texan outfit Daedric have come ‘Undone,’ but that’s a good thing. The act are currently building up a clutch of pop-heavy nu-rock tunes that’ll eventually lead towards the release of their forthcoming full-length, As the Light Left. Last week they teamed up with Revolver to premiere the booming fourth single, ‘Undone,’ which arrives accompanied by a wave-rippled new music video.

The latest Daedric cut commingles deep, undulating beatwork with all-power drumming, purple-incandescent guitar melodies and the scratched-and-cooed clinic put on by vocalist Kristyn Hope.

Musically, ‘Undone’ was apparently dreamed up when band member and producer Clay Schroeder started humming a melody to himself while standing in line at the post office.

Hope tells Revolver that the lyrics somewhat connect to As the Light Left’s first single, May’s ‘Night Mother,’ and that it’s a reflective look at a toxic past relationship. It also features a subtle Star Wars reference via the line about being “carbonized in a burning shrine.”

“’Undone’ is not a song about love,” the singer explains. “It’s a song about deep regret and repeated failure to change, even when you want so badly to become a better version of yourself. Many times, the damage is irreversible.”

The music video finds Hope powerfully singing while either flanked by masked Daderic bandmates or while crooning with her head submerged in water. [via Revolver]

Electro-emo angst-pop trio AIR DRAWN DAGGER have released new track ‘Sanctifound’. It’s the third track from their upcoming debut album A Guide For Apparitions, set for release on April 4 via Long Branch Records. The accompanying music video was directed by Aaran McKenzie (While She Sleeps).

“Keeping the acoustic guitar for the intro riff (inspired by Lamb of God) catapults us into a realm which is intense, rainy and unsettling. We are introduced to the album’s protagonists ‘The Martyrs’ and welcomed with open arms, we are indoctrinated into the fold, warned against evil in the lake and thrust into the mosh pits as the synths and riffs hit hard,” says the band on the new track.

Running the gamut between the heaviest and poppiest of genres, Brighton duo Lake Malice’s new single ‘Scatterbrain’, released with illustrative music video, is as mind-melting as it sounds. Alice Guala and Blake Cornwall, who self-produced the track, have drawn influences from forward-thinking artists as diverse as Enter Shikari, Loathe, Charli XCX, Grimes and Bring Me The Horizon to explosive effect.

Blake says “’Scatterbrain’ is about feeling disillusioned and overwhelmed in modern day society. The repeating chant: “Spin, wash, repeat, mind, soul, body, neat” is a metaphor for struggling to keep up in a chronically online, superficial and capitalistic society, leaving little time to take care of yourself and make meaningful social connections.

“The line “I can’t trust my bank, I’ve no five year plan, but I’m so good at dreaming” is a commentary on the unrealistic expectations to achieve the same prospects and goals of older generations. Despite having constant access to each other’s lives through social media, we have never felt more disconnected from the world around us and anxious to leave our homes.

“The themes of desperation and frustration are reflected musically by glitchy, hyper-pop-inspired rhythms, in contrast with an anthemic rock chorus and anger-fuelled, modern metalcore guitar riffs.”

Formed in Minsk, Belarus, two previous album releases by alternative metal group Mission Jupiter have hinted at their potential to be one of the few acts from that territory to achieve lift-off worldwide. Having recruited powerhouse singer Kate Varsak prior to writing and recording their upcoming third album, Aftermath, the result is a set of dramatic, epic songs with thoroughly modern production values that should see them soar.

‘Self-Destruction’ has been released as the latest single to be teased from the record. The heaviest and punchiest song by Mission Jupiter to date, the band explain that the story behind it is deeply personal and refers to a battle with mental disorder. “When you’re feeling down, it feels like the parasite living inside you has won, and you’re stuck in mental and physical discomfort forever. The only way to survive is to take a pill to ease the pain. We hope this song will resonate with our listeners on a profound level.”

Canadian dark pop act The Birthday Massacre have released a new single entitled ‘Sleep Tonight’, the first to be issued from their upcoming album Pathways, which is set for release on April 11 via Metropolis Records.

“’Sleep Tonight’ is a song about being haunted by our own ghosts,” the band explain. “Memories and regrets follow us as we try to find comfort. Even the most familiar and safe places can feel sinister as we wrestle with these feelings that we often bury deep within ourselves.”

Sleep Tonight by The Birthday Massacre

Bleeth, the Cuban-American trio from Miami, emerges once again with their crushing blend of stoner metal and sludge metal , unveiling their latest single, ‘Monarchs’. This track serves as the first glimpse into their upcoming album Marionette, a visceral exploration of control, fear, and resilience, set for release in April/May.

‘Monarchs’ takes inspiration from the awe-inspiring Sequoia trees , often called the “Kings of the Forest.” The track serves as both a tribute to nature’s power and a warning against human negligence. Vocalist Lauren Palma recalls the devastating 2021 Sequoia National Park fires , reflecting on the destruction of these ancient giants. The song draws parallels between the collapse of monarchies —brought down by arrogance and short-sightedness—and the ongoing environmental crises caused by greed and recklessness. Just as unchecked power leads to downfall, unchecked human activity threatens to consume the very world we inhabit.

With the recent fires in Los Angeles serving as yet another grim reminder, ‘Monarchs’ feels more urgent than ever. Bleeth invites listeners to immerse themselves in the track’s crushing weight and contemplate the fragility of both nature and civilization.

Canadian heavy rock force THE FIXER has unleashed the official music video for ‘Tongue’s Bleeding,’ taken from their debut full-length album Your Lie (Wormholedeath Records). Filmed during their massive 40-date ‘Love and Misfortune’ Tour across Canada, the video captures the band’s electrifying live energy and unfiltered intensity.

Last fall, DJERV released the song ‘Rebel Heart’ as part of the official soundtrack for Season Two of the critically acclaimed Netflix series Arcane. What happens when Norwegian hard rock collides with one of the world’s most iconic series? The answer is ‘Rebel Heart’ – a track that created magic in a pivotal and emotional scene in Arcane, topping global charts and captivating millions.

Now the long-awaited music video, produced by Helmet, is finally here. Erlend Gjerde shares details about the filming process: “The video was shot in an equestrian hall in Trondheim. It was two long and insanely cold days, especially for Agnete, who was covered in wet clay for most of the shoot. Helmet arranged for heating tents and everything, but it was still cold AS F%#.”

The video’s setting is a dark and dusty landscape, which eventually erupts into intense flashes of red and green lights. The typography and architecture are inspired by Arcane, with multiple nods to the universe.

Vocalist Agnete Kjølsrud has also been inspired by creating music for the game, the series and not least the character Jinx. She says: “It’s wonderful to feel the presence of Jinx again! I feel like I’m holding her hand in ‘Rebel Heart’. A hidden part of me is totally uncompromising, and in this song I feel a kind of freedom, even though the sadness is imminent.”

Erlend continues: “We wanted to convey a lot of energy and intensity while reflecting ‘Arcane’ and the League of Legends universe that the song is tied to. It feels great to finally release a proper video, even though the single came out a little while ago. A single release doesn’t feel truly complete until the music video is out as well, so we’re excited to share it with the world!”

EMPLOYED TO SERVE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Fallen Star’, is the title track UK metal band’s upcoming new album which is scheduled to be released in April this year, via Spinefarm Records.

Speaking about the new song, and its accompanying music video, vocalist Justine Jones shares, “’Fallen Star’ is about enduring the burn out of someone close to us. It can be devastating to look on helplessly as someone you care for continues to fly too close to the sun and not learn from it. Sometimes you need to just distance yourself and love them from afar. We felt it should be the title track as it thematically centers around the lyrics of the new record. Breaking bad habits and overcoming the challenges life throws our way. The music video for this song displays the space and isolation felt whilst writing the lyrics for this song. As the title track of the album we wanted to make the video look as expansive and ethereal as the song.”

FORLORN have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Keeper Of The Well’, is taken from the UK folk horror metal band’s upcoming debut album, Aether, which is scheduled to be released in March this year, via Church Road Records.

“Water is a vital part of human existence,” shares vocalist Megan Jenkins about the new single. “With the power to heal, renew and nourish, yet we curse ourselves and the creatures within by not respecting it. We must do more to honour and care for our sacred wells, rivers, lakes and oceans.”

DYING WISH have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘I Brought You My Soul (Your World Brought Me Despair)’, and marks their first new music since their latest studio album, Symptoms Of Survival, which was released back in October 2023, via SharpTone Records. The new single was produced by Will Putney.

Speaking about the new single, vocalist Emma Boster shares, “’I Brought You My Soul…’ is written about being one of many affected by the state of the world we are living in. Constantly witnessing the brutality and injustices has taken a toll on our collective mental health. [The lyric] ‘I am miserable yet I am sane’ references that being impacted by these tragedies happening in Gaza and on our own American soil in fact makes us normal. I fear that one day we will become numb to the events as they become more violent because we are so conditioned to living with it every day.

“This is the first step in the direction of our third LP and the goal from this album is to challenge ourselves to create something different from the first two releases. Throughout the last four years of those records we have dialed in our sound and ethos as a band. We hope that the artwork direction proves as an example that we’re innovating our style to become the most authentic version of DYING WISH.”

Deathless Legacy has released a video for ‘Sanctified’, the third single taken from the new concept album Damnatio Aeterna to be released on March 7 by Scarlet Records.

‘Sanctified’ is about trauma processing and the scars it leaves behind. A transformation of pain into strength, of wounds into perseverance. It speaks of faith shattered, silence endured, and the slow, sacred process of reclaiming oneself through the very marks left by suffering.

Directed by Frater Orion, the video for ‘Sanctified’ conjures a ritualistic portrayal of suffering embraced as a passage to something greater. Through eerie aesthetics and visceral storytelling, it unveils a journey where torment is no longer a weight to bear, but a path to inner awakening. [via Grimm Gent]

German’s Enemy Inside want you to get caught up in the web of metalcore and nu-rock sounds they’ve spun throughout their just-released album, Venom. Coincidentally, the band are preying upon each other like a bunch of headbanging arachnids in the new creature-featuring video for the record’s title track.

The body horror-esque video, which is being premiered through Revolver, was produced by Jonas Sommer and conceived by Enemy Inside vocalist Nastassja Giulia. As the song bounds through a series of compound djent sections and anthemic, Aughts-era nu-metal hooks, Giulia whispers, growls and croons of escaping the grasp of a false friend, and growing into a bold new person.

As that’s all going on, we see various members of Enemy Inside banging through the track in a dank room, though they eventually get tangled up in an overwhelming amount of cobwebs. Then, as if she just found another vial of spider serum hanging around Gremlins 2’s Clamp Center, Giulia starts prowling around the joint as a menacing, multi-legged monster.

“The title track is about toxic people—those who manipulate, mistreat, and drag you down,” the vocalist explained in a statement. “It’s about breaking free, reclaiming your power, and shifting from prey to predator. Every encounter leaves a mark, but instead of letting their ‘venom’ weaken you, it fuels your strength.” [via Revolver]

Huge Hot Milk news! The band have announced their second album Corporation P.O.P, and dropped a brand-new single entitled ’90 Seconds To Midnight’.

The band will be releasing the follow-up to their breakout debut A CALL TO THE VOID on June 27 via Music For Nations, with Jim Shaw describing the record as “a flurry of thoughts, feelings, ramblings from the afters and questions about where we’re at right now in England, the further western world and emotionally.

Get your first taste of all of that with ’90 Seconds To Midnight’, with an accompanying video starring none other than Frank Skinner.

“The Doomsday Clock is nearing midnight and this frantic song sets the mood for the oncoming nuclear winter,” explains Han. “We wanted to punch you proper in the face with this, this balls-to-the-wall little riffy boy comes bounding at you relentlessly.

“Lyrically we took inspiration from 17th century philosopher Rousseau and the poet John Betjemen with his poem Slough. Rousseau set out that humanity would never be free as we create our own shackles. In this case, we’ve created our own demise. Whereas Betjemen’s poem takes this notion of demise and laughs at it, inviting the nukes in ‘come friendly bombs’… Let’s set the gaff on fire and start again.” [via Kerrang!]

Irish alt metal artist Ailsha‘s final release to close out a successful year is ‘Call In A Minute’. The song is an alternative metal power anthem that was generated from a place of fear- as well as fun. Reflecting on her inability to successfully spend a night alone without calling a loved one with a panic attack of some sort, ‘Call In A Minute’ encapsulates the irrationality of these moments as well as the anxiety they can create. With lyrics like “I can’t stop using my phone, ’cause I’m scared of most things in this world”, ‘Call In A Minute’ playfully represents AILSHA’s experience with anxiety and how it can manifest into something bigger that ends up involving the loved ones in her life. In the artist’s own words; “‘I wanted to just make a song that I enjoyed making, and ‘Call In A Minute’ came from a place of fun. The majority of the song was made just by messing around on Logic late at night in my bedroom, and the lyrics initially made no sense. It was only by realising one day when I was by myself that I was calling my mam about something I was very irrationally worried about and I thought, hey, that’s a fun idea for a song- how I can’t just be on my own for a night without worrying about something. The song conveys a mixture between the silly side of the irrational anxiety I often experience as well as the panic attack side of it all, but in a way that makes it fun to perform live.”

Get ready for an all-consuming descent into the depths of sorrow and survival. Evig Natt is back with a new single, ‘Sorrow My World.’ The track, accompanied by a stunning video, is the second taste of what’s to come on the band’s upcoming album, Vaketimen. The track ‘Sorrow My World’ deals with grief and how it can be all-consuming, eating you up from the inside to the point of no return. With no hope of relief, there’s no way out but through. The video for ‘Sorrow My World’ portrays a girl who is consumed by a demon. She’s been marked by its hands and battling its hold over her. She traps the demon by drawing a pentagram of protection around her finally releasing it from her body.

Enemy Inside are surprising their fans with a brutal pre-Christmas present: the compact three-minute ‘Don’t Call Me An Angel’. The single follows the ultimate Halloween anthem, ‘Fuck That Party’ [feat. Zak Tell] and will also be featured on their upcoming album, Venom, which will be released on February 28 via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). There’s a message of immense importance behind ENEMY INSIDE’s latest track, making it an anchor for those struggling with mental health and self-care issues. Nastassja Giulia’s initial vocals lead to a heavenly chorus that lets the listener drift off into distant worlds – only to tear them out of their dreams shortly afterwards with cutting riffs before the band’s inner beast comes to light – also in the accompanying video. “’Don’t Call Me An Angel’ delves deep into the depths of depression and shows how this darkness can grip not only ourselves, but our loved ones as well. The song is an honest confession: a reminder that our inner struggles often affect the people around us and we inadvertently cause them pain. He describes the feeling of being caught in a whirlpool that drags others along, even though we want to protect them. ‘Don’t Call Me An Angel’ is both a warning and a silent cry for help: a haunting look at the hidden depths behind a smile.
LUNA KILLS have announced their debut album. Titled DEATHMATCH, the upcoming album from the Finnish alternative metalcore band is their debut full-length album, and is scheduled to be released in April next year, via SharpTone Records. Alongside the announcement of the debut album, the band have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; ‘sugar rush’. The new song is the second single to be released from the upcoming album, following on from slay ur enemies, which was released back in October. Speaking about the new single, the band shares, “’sugar rush’ captures the drive to pursue happiness in the face of persistent self-doubt. Centered around the struggle to find happiness despite a constant sense of never measuring up, the song delves into the pressures of a world that demands overachievement and monetization of everything, ultimately draining the joy from passions that once gave life meaning. At the time, before we started writing ‘sugar rush’, we had been working on other songs for a long period of time and we felt really exhausted and after multiple failed attempts of trying to force ourselves to focus, we felt that we needed to reset our brain and mindset. sugar rush became a powerful outlet for all that we were going through, a way to channel exhaustion and frustration with the pressures of perfectionism and constant productivity. The creative process itself almost became a form of catharsis, a reset, allowing us to confront those feelings directly and then transform them into something meaningful.” [via Distorted Sound]

ELUVEITIE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Premonition,’ is the brand new single from the Swiss folk metal band and marks their first new music since 2022’s Exile Of The Gods. Speaking about the new single, frontman Chrigel Glanzmann comments, “we’re beyond excited to finally open the door and unleash some new music! ‘Premonition’ comes in laying bare the heart and soul of ELUVEITIE‘s music, while transporting deep ancient wisdom of the Celtic into the modern age, wielding druidic words to point out the way through the deepest struggle within and all around ourselves. We hope you’ll enjoy this piece of music as much as we do ourselves!” [via Distorted Sound]

Finnish melodic metal band Unén share their new single ‘In My Bones’ via Frontiers Music Srl. Singer Stina Girs describes the new single, by saying: “’In My Bones’ tells what it feels like to be in a relationship with a narcissistic manipulator. When you love someone who exploits your love and trust, does terrible things, and even turns you against other people you care about. All of this leaves scars that linger beneath the surface for years, and the anger from it feels deep in your bones.”

Brighton-based metal four-piece KNIFE BRIDE have released a killer new single ‘TERRITORY’, as they gear up to head off on tour around the UK with Defects and Profiler later this month. Influenced by the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Spiritbox and Evanescence, ‘TERRITORY’ brings frontwoman Mollie Clack’s impassioned and compelling vocal to the fore. Mollie says “’Territory’ is a love song, believe it or not. It was written after a hostile exchange and I see it as a kind of diary entry, I guess. It’s very dramatic and purging and really highlights how crazy love can make you.”

Jinjer have announced their upcoming fifth album, Duél, and offered up a new song, the haunting ‘Kafka.’ In contrast to preceding singles ‘Rogue’ and ‘Someone’s Daughter,’ which lean into the Ukrainian band’s heavier, djent-ier inclinations, the latest cut is a slower-burning power ballad — though it does ultimately erupt into crushing riffery and roaring vocals, the latter of courtesy of powerhouse vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk. The song arrived along with a striking video featuring artwork and animation by Oleksii Zatserkovnyi. Shmayluk commented of ‘Kafka’: “Being an artist is sometimes beautiful but most of the time it’s brutal… as our art is dissected word for word and ripped apart note by note, we‘re expected to be on point all-the-time … and when we aren’t, we are scandalized. A true artist is vulnerable but the crowd is most often plagued with vultures who pick at every single move you make. It’s a slippery slope when music means the world to us but how quickly praise turns into prosecution… We are all Kings and Queens for a day but most of the time it feels like a Kafka novel for a lifetime. It‘s exciting but surreal and absurd at the same time.” [via Revolver]

LEAGUE OF DISTORTION have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Crucify Me’, is taken from the German modern metal band’s new album, Galvanize, which is out now via Napalm Records. Speaking about the new song, the band shares, “’Crucify Me’ deals with the rise of artificial intelligence, written from the perspective of an AI that has outgrown its creators. It reflects humanity’s helplessness and inevitable inferiority in the face of this rapidly evolving force. The song is a bold statement on a pressing issue, exploring the unsettling realization that what we create might one day surpass and dominate us or maybe it has already.” [via Distorted Sound]

Melodic extreme-metal band Vintersea has revealed their first single, ‘Celestial Abscission,’ with newly announced singer Kayla Dixon (Witch Mountain, Dress The Dead). The fiery new track ushers in a new chapter for the band as they continue their quest of global domination. Commenting on the new single Dixon says: “Abscission means to detach. Romain Rolland, in his letter to good friend Sigmund Freud, described a new discovery of his via his recent meditations-‘A feeling as of something limitless, unbounded, as it were-oceanic’. This quote felt perfect to include as in interlude before the song kicks in hard. The purpose of this song is to bring the topic of spiritual narcissism up for discussion. Recurring themes of ego and ego death (or abscission) have been ever present in my life. My aim with these lyrics is to expose and discuss the misuse of the word “ego” and to shed light on how easily this word can be thrown around and used to infiltrate the minds of the already humble, stripping away what little self-esteem they had left. Does carrying an oceanic feeling of detachment from day to day life and an awareness of our ultimate mortality advance us as individuals and as a society at large? Or is this one cause of the apathy we see in the world? …and what does your ego-self have to say about it?” [via Brave New Words]

Floridian melodic metalcore band Not Enough Space have signed with Thriller Records. The below music video for their newest single ‘Primitive’ is the first offering via this new partnership, with the band commenting: “We are excited to announce that we are dropping our newest single ‘Primitive’! We have worked so hard on this song and hope that you all enjoy it! This is our first single in a year and we have a lot of amazing things coming behind the scenes that we can’t wait to share with you!! Thank you all so much for the love and support!! See you soon!!” Co-vocalist Lizzie Raatma added: “‘Primitive‘ is about feeling trapped in a toxic relationship with a significant other.
ENTHEOS have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Return To Me’, is taken from the American progressive death metal band’s new EP, An End To Everything, which was released on Friday, via Metal Blade Records. Speaking about the new song, vocalist Chaney Crabb says, “lyrically,’Return To Me’ is a song about the anxiety of watching someone that you love throw their life away while also gaining the perspective that no matter how our lives are lived, we will all inevitably face death. Musically, the simple melodic idea in the intro is what spawned this entire song. We really wanted this song to have a dark, almost black metal vibe while still maintaining our own heavy and progressive spin.” [via Distorted Sound]

ENEMY INSIDE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Fuck That Party’, is the brand new single from the German alternative/symphonic metal band and follows on from their previous single, ‘Should Have Known Better’, which was released last month. The new single was once again mixed and mastered by Christoph Wieczorek of ANNISOKAY (Sawdust Recordings) and its accompanying music video was produced by the group’s loyal companion Jonas Sommer. It’s based on a concept and story written by creative frontwoman Nastassja Giulia, and takes fans to the band’s own chamber of horrors. Speaking about the new song and its accompanying music video, the band shares, “’Fuck That Party’ featuring Zak Tell from CLAWFINGER brings nu and modern metal together. The Halloween themed party song comes with a fun video but a deep meaning. It’s about growing old and looking back nostalgically at the times gone by. It’s a reminder that life is short, so enjoy every moment of your life no matter what others think and fill it with things that make you happy!” [via Distorted Sound]

RedHook have given fans another glimpse of their upcoming new album with the snarling ‘Bomb.com’. With Mutation set for release on November 22, the track arrives ahead of their swiftly approaching UK dates with Dream State. Speaking on ‘Bomb.com’, vocalist Emmy Mack has shared: “‘Bomb.com’ is basically just a big fun diss track about an egomaniacal dude in the music industry who likes to talk a lot of shit, particularly about female-fronted bands. Lame AF behaviour that we felt compelled to take the living piss out of. Craig also added these really sick synths for extra hype that were inspired by that song ‘Like A G6’. This one’s gonna be so much fun to play live!” [via Rock Sound]

Finnish band Memoremains drop a new song on the airwaves. The five-piece has already released the singles ‘Toxic Girl’ and ‘Stuck’ earlier this year, but the recently released ‘Fighter’ is a bit different. “Compared to previous singles, ‘Fighter’ is a bit deeper and more atmospheric. As for the vocals, we also searched for new sounds to emphasize the nuances of the composition. In the lyrics, I wanted to deal with friendship and a situation where a loved one is in a challenging place in their life and needs support in making difficult choices. If only the song would bring a touch of hope to the gloom of autumn for the listeners as well !” singer Johanna Ahonen states. The song was also made into a music video with the help of a well-known author. “Aarni Visuals made a music video for us from our 2022 Nummirock show recording for the single ‘Empire’ from the album Pop Metal, and we remembered how efficient he worked and how good the result was. We asked him about his interest in making the music video for ‘Fighter’, and luckily he agreed to cooperate. In our opinion, the musicvideo conveys the new visual look of the band and the atmosphere of the song, which is sensitive and dramatic at the same time.” [via The Offering Webzine]

Rising phenom Amira Elfeky has a gravely booming nu-gaze single to get us through the spooky season. Filled with a mix of goth-romantic bleakness, detuned guitar melancholy and heavy existential dread, her latest track is fittingly titled ‘Will You Love Me When I’m Dead.’ The single marks Elfeky’s first release since last June’s ‘Remains of Us’ collaboration with Scarlet House. This time around, the Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter teamed-up with producers/musicians Zakk Cervini and Andrew Goldstein to drill into this dark-edged, but dreamy piece. ‘Will You Love Me When I’m Dead’ bounces between a driving, early Deftones-like groove, some lightly twitching electronica, and a gravesite disturbing breakdown finale. Lyrically, Elfeky whispers and soars through emotions-draining relationship drama (“You tasted like honey / So sweet when you stung me”), the frustration of putting in more than you’re getting back (“Every bone I break for you…will never be enough”) and more.
The new year introduced a new era for RinRin, and ‘FCKNRUN’ is the third offering in the new narrative, and the third in a string of fantasy-fuelled releases. Previous singles ‘im sad lol’ and ‘PRN’ explored the dystopian and fictional story of Rin, based on real life – a multiverse where ‘variants’ of RinRin reside in alternate worlds, leading different lives that reflect true feelings. The latest offering, ‘FCKNRUN,’ represents a version of RinRin that sees her take on the role of serial casanova, where attachment is her greatest enemy. The song oozes confidence, traversing through self assured verses with driving undertones before a vulnerable and emotive outro pairs lyrically with traces of guilt. [via Heavy]

Naarm/Melbourne’s The Last Martyr have just dropped EP Requiem, packed with soaring, soul-stirring metal. Mixed by Chris Lalic (Windwaker, Days Like These), it’s an explosive collection, an apocalyptic exploration of what happens when we disrespect and disregard Mother Nature. Frontwoman Monica Strut explains: “The Requiem EP is about the human species’ journey towards, throughout and after the apocalypse. It touches on themes of denial, destruction, control, fear, love and more. Each song stands alone with its own story but is brought together by this overarching theme.” ‘Critical Mass’ is described by Strut as the crossroads before the end of the world. Listen below.
New Jersey’s symphonic metal band Everdawn unveil their new single and the accompanying music video ‘Another Lifetime’, out now via Frontiers Music Srl. The band commented about the track: “Many of us feel the constant fear that we are straying from our path, or that the journey set before us is not the one we’re meant for. We may feel afraid we are not strong enough to face the battles ahead or we feel anxious that we are veering away from the life we want. This song is about fighting inner demons, challenging our insecurities or preconceived notions and rising above. Trust nothing but yourself to achieve what you want in life, following your own footsteps. Realize: you are exactly where you are meant to be and who you are meant to become.”

Gore. have released their new single ‘Angels Like You’ with accompanying music video. “‘Angels Like You’ is one of two songs on the EP written about a particular individual, as opposed to a relational dynamic,” says vocalist Haley Roughton. “This song is about somebody who appeared righteous and just but ended up being quite cruel. In a bigger scope, this song depicts those who are self-aggrandized and signal their virtue. These people profess their greatness to others as a mask, so that we do not see how much they truly loathe themselves. Recording this song was a cathartic process and helped me let go of that person, and the hurt they left behind.”

Rockshots Records and Lay Of The Autumn is excited to announce the release of their third single, ‘After All This Time? Always’ from their highly anticipated album Of Love And Sorrow due out on October 25. ‘After All This Time? Always’ inspired by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows PT2, with a title symbolizing the sacrifice of eternal love. This song is an incredible lovely and fully orchestrated ballad where the voice of Iryna ERIA Boyarkina is majestic and unbelievable. Like the other two singles, this one completely stands for its beauty in a way that is uniquely Lay Of The Autumn.

Despite the high-energy performance and multi-cam coverage, every element of the stage, lighting, and effects was created digitally, transforming the experience into a mind-bending illusion of a live concert.
LEAGUE OF DISTORTION have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Chainsaw’, is taken from the German modern metal band’s upcoming new album, Galvanize, which is scheduled to be released in October this year, via Napalm Records. Speaking about the new single, the band says, “our new single ‘Chainsaw’ cuts deep with its unapologetic commentary on the brutality of life, injustice, and karma. It channels our rage and frustration of living in a world where greed and hypocrisy reign. The song serves as both a warning and a catharsis – reminding us that vengeance and consequence are inevitable. This track is a sonic explosion of rebellion, a visceral call for justice in a broken system.” [via Distorted Sound]

HERIOT have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Opaline,’ is taken from the breakout UK metal band’s debut album, Devoured By The Mouth Of Hell, which was released last week, via Century Media Records. Speaking about the new song, the band shares, “Opaline addresses the need to accept that sometimes you must sit with the truth alone, however isolating it may be, until others are ready to understand it. It emphasises trusting your instincts but forgiving yourself for the times you couldn’t.
Enemy Inside is back with a vengeance, releasing their new single and video, ‘Should Have Known Better’. The modern metal outfit delivers a track that blends fierceness and finesse, unafraid to challenge and redefine the genre. The lyrics drive this message home with a steadfast resolve, showcasing the band’s knack for blending introspective storytelling with raw emotion and heavy-hitting energy, digging deep into themes of betrayal and resilience. “It’s a reminder that you cannot look into someone’s head and should watch out for those uninterested in your success and well-being,” the band explains. “It’s for all the fake friends talking behind your back or only sticking around in your best moments but not at your worst. You tried to play the wrong person – you should have known better.” The accompanying music video mirrors the song’s fierce narrative. Frontwoman Nastassja Giulia takes on the role of a high-society icon, confidently dominating a high-stakes gambling table. The video, crafted by Nastassja alongside creative collaborator and guitarist Evan K, and mixed and mastered by Christoph Wieczorek, seamlessly intertwines sophistication and defiance. It captures the essence of the song’s message — standing strong in the face of betrayal, reclaiming power, and serving a taste of karma to those who have underestimated you. ]via Brave Words]

Forsaken Rite, the symphonic folk metal warriors from the northern plains of Edmonton, Canada, are thrilled to announce the release of their latest music video ‘Call to War’. This powerful and visually stunning video is the second single from their upcoming EP The Forgotten West, out this coming September 2024. ‘Call to War’ showcases Forsaken Rite’s signature blend of epic storytelling, intricate musicianship, and high-energy performance, as they explain: “‘Call to War’ is the finale of The Forgotten West journey. The war party has made it to their destination… for now. They have found villages and life isn’t so bad, it’s different than before, but yet… oh so familiar. But as if destiny had other plans, peace lasts only so long before history begins to repeat itself as new enemy forces move in to take what little the village has left. Call to War is a battle speech and a rallying cry, because this time, we all stay to fight, unlike so long ago, before the journey of The Forgotten West.” The drums of war are sounding and Forsaken Rite’s final rally cry leads warriors into battle. “Call to War” is a heavy war song led by the power of unclean vocals as clean vocals build the narrative. The song’s bridge is a grand battle speech and a march towards victory climaxing in a multi-layered instrumental and vocal breakdown to round out the EP.

Valkyrie’s Fire are a symphonic power metal band from Nashville, Tennessee, born of true emotional passion that ignites our hearts and unlocks the deepest mysteries of the soul. The band just premiered a new music video titled ‘Warrior of the Night’ which is the first single & music video taken from their upcoming EP album Ascension which will be released on November 8 via Eclipse Records. The album was produced and mixed by Joey Grimaldi, and mastered by Jack Kosto (Firewind, Seven Spires). The music video for ‘Warrior of the Night’ was directed by Austin Dellamano at Weems Creative. “’Warrior of the Night’ is a special song to each of us because of the meaning behind the lyrics”, says bass guitarist Dave Hale. “This song is dedicated to the fans who tirelessly support musicians every night, and also to the musicians around the world who endlessly pour their heart and soul into the music they create. Just like any true warrior, the musicians fight the ongoing battle to bring exposure to their music, and the fans also fight the battle by showing their support for those musicians.” Vocalist Adam Sanders adds, “The album, and this song, is steeped in Norse mythology, and as such, the lyrics also hint at that, while keeping their relevance to the fans and musicians. Each of us fights a battle in the field of music, and each of us must remain strong and give our all for those things we fight so valiantly for.” Vocalist Bettie Floyd concludes, “Our goal with this debut music video is to reach into the hearts and souls of fans worldwide and deliver to each of them the epic power and symphonic metal that we are so proud to have created. We want to show the world that Valkyrie’s Fire is not only just a new band on the scene, but a force to be admired in the music scene among our peers, fellow musicians, and fans around the world. We truly love the music we create, and we are grateful to be doing what we love!”.

SPINEFARM is pleased to announce the signing of GORE. — vocalist Haley Roughton, guitarist Alex Reyes, and bassist Devin Birchfield — to the global roster. The band will release the A Bud That Never Blooms EP on October 24. The EP was produced by Miserable Productions, with Ben McGuiness and Caleb Freihaut serving as co-producers. The EP was mixed by Cody Stewart. Now, the band has also shared the video for ‘Babylon,’ its debut single for its new label home. “‘Babylon’ is about my desire to have a pure, somewhat traditional love,” offers Roughton, laying her emotional cards face up on the table. “The dream of having a strong and loving husband, with children and an unconditionally loving home being the center of my universe (and is what I felt I lacked in my childhood). Through the years, and all of the relationships I have failed to sustain, that dream has yet to come true. This song is the eulogy of that dream. In other words, ‘Babylon’ is the action of putting that dream of being a wife and a mother to rest, for now.” Regarding the accompanying visual, Roughton shares, “The music video uses religious imagery to depict the dream for a pure, unconditional love that is slowly dying. In the video, the pastor can be seen as everything that causes a relationship to fail — ego, external pressure from others, unhealed inner wounds — even the other person in the relationship. The pastor is seen slowly killing the woman with the dream by holding her underwater, while she is seen crying and begging for the life she wants. From the action of killing her emerges a creature that is completely stripped of hope and innocence. The sludgy, disturbing human-like being can be seen as a symbol of cynicism, resentment and vengeance.”

Massive Scar Era, the visionary Egyptian/Canadian metal project led by Cherine Amr, is thrilled to announce the release of their new single ‘School Girls | بنات المدرسة’. This track, featuring the dynamic vocals of Chaney Crabb from Entheos, is the lead single from their upcoming EP, Assyad, set to drop in October 2024. With ‘School Girls’, Massive Scar Era breaks genre boundaries again, blending progressive rock, post-grunge, Egyptian music, and metal into a captivating sound that resonates deeply with fans worldwide. Amr comments on the unique track: “‘School Girls’ represents a dialogue between the Mu’allima (teacher) spirit, brought to life by Chaney’s voice, and the outside world. The chorus is adapted from the traditional Zar song “Banat el Madrassa,” reflecting a significant era in Egyptian society and feminism. It highlights the pursuit of higher education by middle and upper-class women in the 1950s, symbolizing their aspirations and empowerment. The Mu’allima serves as both a guide within the female Zar realm and a social archetype.”

Texan prog metal quintet Oceans Of Slumber will release their sixth studio album Where Gods Fear To Speak through Season Of Mist Records on September 13. It’s the band’s first for their new label and they have just shared their latest single from the upcoming album, The Given Dream, which you can listen to below. The song features a powerhouse of a vocal performance from singer Cammie Beverly. “This is one of the most tiring songs to sing on the album”, Beverly explains. “I’m belting from the beginning. Going from a belt to soprano back to a belt is not a break. Singing soprano takes more breath than singing mid-range or alto. You have to hold your vocal cords tight.” “We’re pre-programmed with this dream of how our lives are supposed to turn out”, Dobber Beverly, band leader, drummer and Cammie’s husband says of the new single. “The white picket fence. A career at the tech company down the road. Two and a half kids to go along with the ‘Live, Laugh, Love’ poster on your wall”. “Buying into that idea will make you feel like you’re on the right track,” adds Cammie. “When really, we’re just blinded.
EPICA singer Simone Simons has shared the music video for the song ‘Cradle To The Grave’ from her just-released debut solo album. Vermillion, which was made available on August 23 via Nuclear Blast Records, is a collaboration with Simone’s longtime musical partner Arjen Lucassen (AYREON). The music video for ‘Cradle To The Grave’ features a guest appearance by ARCH ENEMY’s Alissa White-Gluz and can be seen below. Simons and Lucassen comment: “‘Cradle To The Grave’ is about the universal experience of navigating life’s ups and downs and the quest for meaning and purpose. It views the human condition as one of struggle and resilience, where despite efforts to build and achieve, there’s an underlying acceptance that life is brief, finite and often cruel.” [via Blabbermouth]

Speaking about the new song and its accompanying music video, the band shares, “’Sayonara’ is a real power track. Not only its title spreads Japanese vibes, the video is also heavily inspired by the anime style. The message of the song gets clear really quick: Don’t let the haters get you down.
Ice cold Finnish modern metal band, Arctis, have announced their self-titled debut album, set for release via Napalm Records on November 1. Drawing inspiration from the mythical winters and mystical summers of the North, the Finnish metal minds of talented misfits Arctis fearlessly navigate their futuristic battleship through a treacherous ocean where ferocious waves of metal clash against reefs of rock and pop, birthing a sonic assault of epic proportions. To celebrate the announcement of their debut album, the first single ‘I’ll Give You Hell’ and their first official music video ever, has been released. The song explores the complexities of romance with their catchy anthem. Arctis comment on their new single: “We’re excited to drop our debut track and music video, ‘I’ll Give You Hell,’ a powerful anthem that was one of the first songs we ever wrote.
The Brazilian rising force in Melodic Death Metal, Erudica, have just released their highly anticipated second single, ‘Echoes Of Desolation’, which is now available on all major digital platforms. Following the success of their debut single and music video ‘Gaia’, the band returns with an even more ferocious and impactful sound. Formed in 2020, Erudica is the brainchild of captivating vocalist Caroline Ferreira and skilled guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Patrik Correa. Drawing inspiration from heavyweights such as Arch Enemy and The Agonist, the duo has taken a brave step on their latest release, digging deeper into more classic melodic death/thrash metal. With ‘Echoes Of Desolation’, they move away from the orchestral and symphonic elements of their previous release, opting instead for a raw, aggressive approach marked by crushing, melodic and brutally powerful guitar riffs. Caroline Ferreira‘s vocal prowess shines through on ‘Echoes Of Desolation’ where she unleashes a torrent of rage through her ferocious growls, tackling profound themes that reflect humanity’s final reckoning – a requiem for a world suffering due to the greed of those who are supposed to protect and lead. “Greed! We reap what we sow, in this case our total destruction and annihilation by our own actions”, Caroline comments. [via Metalheads Forever]

Wargasm have unleashed the new single ‘70% Dead’ featuring Slipknot singer Corey Taylor. It’s the latest high-profile collab for the UK electro-punk duo, who have released past tracks with Fred Durst, Bad Omens, and Ho99o9, among others. Last year, Wargasm — comprised of Milkie Way and Sam Matlock — supported Taylor on his US solo tour, leading to the collaboration on ‘70% Dead.’ “We were on the road in the USA with Corey,” stated Wargasm. “Sam ended up jumping on a mic with him during his set and we just felt like the voices sounded right together. It totally made sense to do something fresh with the three of us and well… you don’t ask, you don’t get.” The duo continued, “Some OG fans might recognize the lyrics. This has been a long time coming. ‘70% Dead’ is a cry-out at a world gone mad; war, disease, inequality. It feels like something is brewing.” In a social media tease earlier this week, Wargasm posted a phone conversation between Way and Matlock, in which Matlock complains that the band hasn’t released any new music this year thus far. Way tells Matlock, “Why don’t you call that guy you really like, the shouty guy?” The shouty guy, aka Taylor, contributes his instantly recognizable guttural vocals to the uptempo track, blending flawlessly with the clean singing of the two Wargasm members.
Living Dead Girl — the pop-metal project helmed by powerhouse vocalist-bandleader Molly Rennick — are about to kick off a big North American tour, and on the eve of the first date, they teamed with Revolver to premiere the new video for their biting March single ‘Ugly.’ Rennick previously described Living Dead Girl as representing the two sides of her split personality — “one wears baby pink and Hello Kitty and listens to pop music, and the other a goth girl in fishnet stockings” — and the ‘Ugly’ video follows suit. It’s at once silly and violent, cutesy and incisive, delivering its social commentary in a fun, splatstick package. “‘Ugly’ is a song I wrote from a place of frustration, knowing many fellow women could relate,” Rennick tells Revolver. “It’s about wanting to be taken seriously for your contributions and skills without being objectified or undermined in any profession or passion. When it came to making a music video, we wanted to bring that idea to life, but in true Living Dead Girl form, it still needed to have an element of fun and humor. Even with a serious message, we still are a band that likes to have fun in everything we do. I paid some subtle homage to The Powerpuff Girls and their message of girl power and empowerment, while playing into the aesthetic of a campy horror movie. All while tying it into a gym setting: the place in which every woman just wants to be left alone!” [via Revolver]

New England extreme-metal faction Escuela Grind have officially confirmed a full-length is likewise hitting us later this fall. The band’s Dreams on Algorithms is due out October 18, but they’re previewing it ahead of time with a fittingly disorienting single called ‘Turbulence.’ ‘Turbulence’ shakes things up a bit for Escuela Grind, marking the first time Economou has brought clean singing into the band’s discography. Then again, after a brief bit of Alice in Chains-esque doom-grungin’, the song incorporates a more shrieked and grind-blitzed pace. “It will be immediately obvious when you first hear this song that it is a departure for us,” the vocalist added. “We wanted to take a risk with ‘Turbulence,’ and after performing so many live shows over the last year we were ready to compile all that influence. The clean singing may take some people off-guard coming from a grind/hardcore band, but after touring with Napalm Death, we realized we wanted to incorporate that aspect into our music in a similar way. We definitely wanted a grungy, catchy chorus to sing at all of our upcoming festival appearances, and I hope the fans like the song as much as we do.” [via Revolver]

Astonishing singer-songwriter CHARLOTTE WESSELS (ex-DELAIN) has joined forces with Simone Simons of Epica for her mesmerizing new single entitled ‘Dopamine.’ This track is part of Wessels’ first traditional full-length, full-band solo album, The Obsession, set to be released on September 20 via Napalm Records. Promising a deeply immersive and evocative experience, the two Dutch symphonic metal legends guide listeners through the emotional landscape of SSRI-induced numbness. The Obsession showcases WESSELS’ most mature work to date, blending progressive and heavier soundscapes with catchy elements. CHARLOTTE WESSELS on ‘Dopamine’: “Lyrically, ´Dopamine´ deals with SSRI induced numbness that I experienced a few years ago when I was on Sertraline, a type of antidepressant. While the medication was really helpful, there were so many side effects that I’d never heard of. This song deals with some of them, and while it feels vulnerable to expose the experience, I hope it helps in breaking down the shame and taboo around the topic. Simone reached out to me as I was first opening up about this in an interview, and when the first version of ´Dopamine´ dropped on Patreon (because of course we’re each other’s patrons) she texted how much she liked the song. So when we were working on the album version it only made sense to ask if she’d sing along on the track. I am so happy she agreed and after all of the shared introspection, it was great fun to let loose wearing pink wigs in ball pits and marshmallow pools for the video recordings. Musically, out of the entire new album, ´Dopamine´ went through the biggest transformation. What started out as an EDM demo for a collaboration with a dance duo that never happened, became an acoustic Song Of The Month on Patreon, which then had a massive overhaul when rearranging it with Timo. The new band version is an absolute banger, and the beautiful guest vocals by Simone complete the song.” [via Outburn]

ENEMY INSIDE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘What We Used To Be’, is the brand new single from the German alternative/symphonic metal band and marks their first new music since 2021’s Seven. Speaking about the new song, vocalist Nastassja Giulia says, “’What We Used To Be’ deals with the topic of a relationship growing apart: whether it’s a romantic relationship, a friendship, or the relationship with yourself. It’s about realising and accepting that situations and people, even yourself, change, and there is no other way than to move on.” Filmed by Jonas Sommer, the music video’s script and story was written by the front-woman herself. She adds, “we were aiming for a cinematic look. We wanted a video that looked more like a movie than a music video and we are really proud how the song and the video turned out.” [via Distorted Sound]

Without Warning, a promising modern metal act from Finland has unleashed their new single ‘Pulse’ with an additional music video. The new single is infused with inspiration from the German underground rave scene, immersing the listener with a sonic landscape filled with industrial sounds and heavy rave elements. ‘Pulse’ vibrates with intensity and infectious rhythms that are a core element in the German rave scenes. The song blends the ferocity of modern metal with the hypnotic allure of underground rave culture. Without Warning invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world where man and machine collide. “The song instantly made me think of an underground rave. An experience where you fully emerge yourself in the rhythm and it becomes synchronized with your pulse, which inspired the song name. With each song we really drive into the surrounding, the emotion and story. ‘Pulse’ showcases Without Warning as a whole, who we are and what our identity is about. It is no coincidence that we wanted to include inspiration from Germany particularly. Germans have a really talented and amazing metal scene, and they have always supported Finnish metal. We’re excited to build a stronger bond with them.” Says vocalist Michaela “Micha” Tuomenoksa. At its core, ‘Pulse’ explores the enigmatic relationship between humanity and technology. Reflecting the interesting and futuristic lore Without Warning has created. ‘Pulse’ is blurring the boundaries between organic and artificial life. With the song, Without Warning aims to capture the essence of the rave experience with a cacophony of sound and intense emotion. “I had a vision about a techno infused song with an intense beat, electronic soundscape and of course a signature touch representing our style. A lot of things happen through the song and it took a while to find the balance. But with efficient teamwork among the band we produced the song as visioned and hope to see ‘Pulse’ make a strong impact on listeners.” Says guitarist and producer Juuso Javanainen.
