Alabama’s very own princess of rap Flo Milli drops her new track ‘Wet Dreams’ featuring coop & G G via RCA Records. This latest track also has a LEFF-directed official video that is a whole vibe. From the blue lighting and vibrant glowing lingerie in a hotel room to car rides to the beach, the girls know how to set a scene. This release follows Flo dropping another LEFF-directed visual, but for her popular song ‘Toast’ from her latest album Fine Ho, Stay, which was the third release from her trilogy – 2022’s You Still Here Ho? and 2020’s Ho, Why Is You Here?.

Brooklyn rapper Lola Brooke has released a new single titled ‘No One Else’, featuring R&B artist Jeremih. The track, released via Team Eighty Productions/Arista Records, follows Brooke’s ‘Dennis Daughter (Deluxe)’ project, which was released in April. Brooke comments on the new release, saying: “With ‘No One Else’, you hear more of Lola, the lover girl. We all have feelings, and your girl is in a soft girl mood that you will hear more about with this track and maybe a few more. Going into making this track, I wanted to create something timeless with feel-good energy based on the music I listen to. I’m a rapper who loves R&B, especially the sound from the 90’s. From the special sauce, Jeremih adds to my PG-13 lyrics [laughs], there’s an element here that everyone can vibe to for cuffing season with bae, HA!” [via Dork]

DAYSH has yearned for deeper connection on her latest single, ‘IDK’. The bouncy trap-pop cut sees the London-born musician wax poetic on wanting more from her relationships, as soundtracked by propulsive snare drums and dynamic rap flows. The sound of the song itself is compelling enough, but DAYSH tops it all off with some mesmeric delivery and razor-sharp lyrical observations. Perhaps the major drawcard of ‘IDK’ is DAYSH’s unique and flexible rap cadences, which stretch acrobatically around the beat and make for a consistently engaging listen. The rapper isn’t confined to any one rhyme scheme, and instead changes the flow on whim while ensuring her lyrics pull focus. It’s the kind of unique flow that recalls the likes of Noname, Lil Simz or Tierra Whack, but DAYSH makes it wholly her own with some personal storytelling. “I was going through a bad break up at the time,” DAYSH said of the song’s genesis in a press statement, “So I found myself surrounded daily by all these people that didn’t know me even close to the depths of which the person I just became strangers with did.” It’s a personal yet relatable tale of feeling starved of connection, and it sees DAYSH yearn for someone to share her successes with. “Need deeper connection,” she spits on a hook that’s infinitely replayable, “All of the demons I fight, half-resting.” It’s one of many incisive bars delivered by DAYSH on ‘IDK’, a track which more than leaves its mark.
Paigey Cakey has this week released her brand new single, a new one called ‘For Me’, accompanied by an official set of visuals. The track features a bouncy instrumental that channels the sound of early 2000s American rap, blending nostalgic vibes with a fresh twist. She seamlessly combines her signature rapped verses with smooth, melodic hooks as she reflects on a special person in her life. The visuals complement the track’s upbeat energy, showcasing her confident presence and personal storytelling. [via GRM Daily]

Megan Thee Stallion has released her new single, ‘Neva Play’, featuring RM of K-pop boyband BTS. The K-pop star does not appear in its music video, instead an animated version of the duo use their superpowers to fight monsters and carry out a heist. “One, two, three, four (One, two, three, four) / Five, six, seven, eight (Five, six, seven, eight) / Let ’em know we on the way / Countin’ zeros everyday / You know that we neva play,” they rap.
Alabama’s very own princess of rap Flo Milli releases her new single ‘Never Lose Me’ and an alternate version featuring Lil Yachty via RCA Records. ‘Never Lose Me’ is not only an anthem for the ladies, but an affirmation of self-worth, confidence and loyalty. The new single(s) come on the heel of her latest releases ‘BGC’ and ‘Chocolate Rain’ and will all appear on her highly anticipated second studio album Fine Ho, Stay coming soon.

Sexyy Red, the St. Louis rapper, has released a new single, ‘Free My N***a,’ which appears on a deluxe edition of her latest mixtape Hood Hottest Princess, which came out earlier this year.

“This ain’t a phase, this right here’s a career” raps Tāmaki Makaurau hip hop artist Jujulipps aka Hannah Kazadi in her latest music video for ‘Get That Shot’, the opener and namesake for her fresh debut EP via BigPop Records. The visuals for ‘Get That Shot’ was directed by Tom Grut and made with the support of NZ On Air — the lunar background in which Jujulipps stands before marks her “rise to confidence when people are trying to dim your light.” She spits out one-liners that leave you on the edge of your seat with quick witted imagery and rapping prowess.
Luton’s rising MC, BXKS, unleashes her latest single and video, ‘Back It Up’, cementing her status on the underground circuit. This release stands out as a crowning jewel in her repertoire, showcasing a high-energy and club-ready anthem. Along with producer Lamsi, she effortlessly blends UK bass, Jersey club and rap music with distinctive style, creating a track that promises to set the dance-floor ablaze throughout the winter.
Last year, the Memphis rapper GloRilla erupted out of the underground, scoring a couple of massive hits and ending the year with the release of her Anyways, Life’s Great… EP. GloRilla’s been a little quieter this year, though she has come out with a few new singles. And now, GloRilla’s on a new track with the ascendant Chicago MC FendiDa Rappa. FendiDa Rappa had her biggest career moment this past summer, when Cardi B jumped on her song ‘Point Me 2.’ GloRilla also got a big assist from Cardi with lat year’s ‘Tomorrow 2.’ ‘In The Trunk,’ the new FendiDa Rappa/GloRilla track, has both of them talking horny, reckless shit over a skittering drill beat.
Rising artist iCandy continues her 2023 takeover with the release of her new single ‘Big Mad’ featuring Flo Milli. Watch the Humble90k and Herve Mompoint directed music video below. ‘Big Mad’ is the follow up to her viral smash ‘Keep Dat’ which is nearing GOLD certification. iCandy recruited the rap games current top females for the remix, ‘Keep Dat’ part 2, featuring GloRilla, Kali and Big Boss Vette.

Lola Brooke is in her bag with this song! The Brooklyn native delivered an R&B-tinged song and it’s completely left field from what fans would expect. The ‘Don’t Play With It’ rapper teams up with Bryson Tiller for their new collaborative effort ‘You.’ The exciting track is a breath of fresh air, with upbeat melodies and a sweet chorus. The song samples ‘Get Me Home’ by rap princess Foxy Brown featuring R&B group Blackstreet. Foxy Brown is another NYC-native female rapper, so it’s only right that Lola pay homage with this collab. Undoubtedly, the reworked song by Lola and Bryson has a nostalgic feel to it. Produced by the talented Khris Riddick-Tynes and LilJuMadeDaBeat, ‘You’ exemplifies Lola Brooke’s ability to switch between her high-energy mode, to producing music that has a chill soulful R&B melody. On the track, she delivers bars in her signature deep voice, the magnetic allure that first captivated listeners in the first place. In a historically male-dominated hip-hop scene, Lola confidently holds her own alongside male peers and makes her presence felt. [via HNHH]

A few months ago, the extremely horny St. Louis rookie Sexyy Red released Hood Hottest Princess, one of of the year’s most straight-up fun rap albums. In the past few weeks, Sexyy Red has appeared on tracks with Lil Durk and Moneybagg Yo, and now she’s got a new single on the soundtrack for the HBO show Rap Sh!t. The Issa Rae-produced Rap Sh!t tells the story of two Miami women who hope to use rap to escape lives of credit card fraud and OnlyFans sex work. It’s a sort of fictionalized sitcom version of City Girls’ story, and both City Girls are co-executive producers. The show’s second season is set to arrive in November, and it’ll come with the new compilation Rap Sh!t: The Mixtape. That tape’s first single is Sexyy Red’s bouncy, catchy workout ‘No Panties,’ which is about exactly what it says it’s about. The song is actually credited to Sexyy Red and Raedio, but Raedio is just Issa Rae’s music production company. Give it a listen below. Yesterday, Sexyy Red also dropped the video for her new single ‘Shake Yo Dreads,’ which is not associated with any known HBO show but which has a fun, reckless immediacy. The thunderous chanting on this one reminds me of prime Waka Flocka Flame. [via Stereogum]

St. Louis rapper and singer Big Boss Vette unveils a stunning music video for her new single ‘Get It.’ The track stands out as a fan favorite from her debut EP, RESILIENCE, available now via Beatstaz/Amigo Records/Republic Records. In the video directed by SPUDDSMCKENZIE, she turns up at a roller rink surrounded by friends, dripping in seventies-style fits with shimmering jewelry. It channels a nostalgic vibe with its throwback aesthetic and impressive roller skating choreography. It perfectly matches the song’s distinct party-ready bounce.

In anticipation of the kick off of her August ‘Talk To Me Nice’ tour, Sa-Roc has today shared her song of the same name and the first single from her forthcoming album. ‘Talk To Me Nice,’ continues the tradition of Sa-Roc sharing a deep connection with her audience, with poise, tenacity and masterful skill. The new single, produced by Sol Messiah, takes a more assertive tone, as she focuses on challenging the industry while demanding respect from it. The sparse, yet menacing track centers Sa-Roc’s voice, showcasing her dextrous wordplay, natural wit and agility. Sa-Roc has also shared the official video for ‘Talk To Me Nice,’ with the visuals engaging with light and shadow in stark contrasts to symbolize the decentering and marginalization she and many others have experienced in life. The video, directed by David Maxwell, features guest appearances from dancer Storyboard P and members of the art collective Art Comes First, and notably incorporates Afro-punk aesthetics as well the jewelry and motifs of many Black, African and Indigenous cultures, as a symbolic nod to those cultures that have long countered the prevailing social narrative. The song’s an ode to the D-boys and hustlers who love fast cars and the girls who love those boys. The lo-fi video for the track sees Red and friends turning up in the streets and throwing money with cameos from fellow rap it-girls like GloRilla. [via UPROXX]

Back with more heat, Baltimore’s MVP Rican Da Menace unveils a new single and music video entitled ‘Off Top’ with Lola Brooke via BuVision/Columbia Records. This marks her first collaboration with the rapidly rising Brooklyn spitter, and it also unites two of the game’s fiercest females on one fiery collaborative banger. Produced by HitMaka, Nick Papz, and Xander, the beat samples the DMX classic ‘Ruff Ryders’ Anthem’. In between the instantly recognizable Swizz Beatz keyboard riff, Rican rips right through the beat with precise bars only for Lola to counter with an equally punchy cameo. The hook hits hard as it repeats, “I get mines off top.” Meanwhile, the accompanying visual plays out like a classic Yo MTV Raps!-era video. Emanating confidence, gusto, and swagger, this dynamic duo takes over Brooklyn—from the streets to the rooftops. [via Hip Hop Since 1987]

Tributes to hip-hop’s 50th anniversary are far from over. Flo Milli is joining in on the flower giving on her new freestyle, ‘Flo Milli.’ Simply put, the tribute is a lovefest on rap megastar Lil Wayne. From the signature deadlocks to the video’s original concept, Flo Milli aimed to honor the New Orleans native through his 2008 song, ‘A Milli.’ As Flo Milli borrowed the classic rap beat, she also takes some additional creative liberties by flipping several of the Young Money boss’ lyrics, including her stanza, “She’s a beast / She’s a dog / She’s a muthef*ckin’ problem / Claiming she want what but be running like a possum / You can’t stand ’em then you drop ’em / Hoes get messy imma mop ’em / hallucinogenic have ’em rolling when I rock ’em.” The entertainer took to Instagram to share the record’s cover art in which she continued her praise of Lil Wayne, writing, “Lil Wayne is still the GREATEST RAPPER ALIVE,” in the caption. This sentiment is echoed amongst several other recording artists, including his protégés Nicki Minaj and Drake, to NLE Choppa. [via UPROXX]

Now, Tkay is sharing the new single ‘Ring-A-Ling,’ which also has a video directed by Jocelyn Anquetil. Here’s what Tkay had to say about Sweet Justice, which also has collabs with Lolo Zouaï, Amber Mark, and Duckwrth: “Sweet Justice was a way for me to channel my emotions from what I’ve experienced in the last two years. It’s a diary of things and thoughts I’ve kept to myself. Making the record was a healing experience and I’m grateful to have worked with producers who have inspired me throughout my career.” She adds of ‘Ring-A-Ling,’ which is produced by Two Fresh: “I wanted to make an empowering song that tells others that my biggest focus are my goals.” [via Stereogum]

Pioneering West London rapper, singer and songwriter Br3nya releases new single ‘Outside’. The summer-tinged track showcases Br3nya’s signature playfulness and optimism towards life driven by an anthemic chorus dismissing negative energy “Please don’t spoil my vibe today, badmind don’t stress me”. Dedicated to her core fans, Br3nya flaunts her rap ability with two dazzling verses across an uptempo production from Julïan capturing the essence of the summer. The video shot by Melody Berkery provides a comedic nod to Nollywood films Mean Girls and Girls Cot capturing her larger-than-life persona mirroring the vibes of being outside this summer with Br3nya.

Flo Milli recently teamed up with the good folks over at 7-Eleven. The convenience store chain is looking to promote its new Slurpees, and they have done so by commissioning a new song. Milli is among some of the best artists to ask for this kind of thing, and as it turns out, the collaboration works incredibly well. The song is called ‘Anything Flows,’ and it features Maiya The Don, 2Rare, and Kari Faux. Immediately upon turning on the track, you are met with some awesome, uptempo production. Overall, the beat is something that complements the stylings of every artist here. Moreover, we have Flo Milli on the hook, who brings some truly infectious energy to the while thing. From there, Maiya The Don comes through with a standout verse that will most definitely create a few fans. 2Rare and Kari Faux are also great on this cut, and they continue to show why they are rising stars in the industry. New York rap star Lola Brooke leads the charge, whose highly anticipated release, ‘Blind Em,’ offers a fresh interpretation of Clipse’s chart-topping hit, ‘Grindin.’ The single’s artwork was captured using the exceptional Real Tone technology of the Google Pixel camera, ensuring an accurate representation of all skin tones. “Fifty years of Hip Hop— it’s an honor to be called on by Google and Mass Appeal to celebrate the culture this way,” said Lola Brooke. “From reinterpreting one of my favorite records Grindin’ by Clipse to capturing all the magic on a Google Pixel phone, every part felt like a celebration.
Toronto-based musical giant, Haviah Mighty releases a track that pays homage to her family, ‘Zoom Zoom,’ ahead of her anticipated Crying Crystals album out on July 14. ‘Zoom Zoom’ features her sister, Omega Mighty and digs deep into traditional Afro-beats and R&B elements that we heard on her single from earlier this year, ‘Room Service,’ but with more upbeat/dancehall-leaning energy that we heard on her most recent single ‘Huh.’ It’s a perfect foreshadowing of the breadth and excitement to come on her record next month. Of the track, Haviah Mighty says, “‘Zoom Zoom’ is a reflection of the regret of truly letting someone go. It’s a rapid change of the mind, with ‘Zoom Zoom’ being a metaphor for rushing back to the one you love. In my first verse, I paint the picture. I’m single and l only, but confident: ‘Hard shell, porcupine, a cactus,’ yet still, ‘I been thinking ‘bout you lately. All this time I’m trying to break free.”

Queenie is an artist focused on capturing the energy of modern hip-hop while remaining true to the genre’s golden age. As a natural-born storyteller, Queenie ignites her beats with a lot of personality, offering a gripping lyrical flow and unique lyrics from the first word to the last. Now, Queenie has announced the release of a brand-new project, ‘Man Made.’ This bold, creative statement highlights her lyrical flow. ‘Man Made’ has a direct sound that’s not about chasing trends. It’s all about making things happen with a more authentic flow and a one-of-a-kind dynamic approach that makes the artist’s personality stand out from the herd and all the cliches. Musically, the beat has a lot of energy, and there is an element of grittiness to the rhythmic components (i.e., the drums), which bring forth a more organic and warmer vibe. The melodies accompanying the vocals are quite natural and understated, so they do not overpower Queenie’s lyrics and delivery but rather prop it up and highlight its qualities throughout this track. The balance between the instrumental sections and the vocals is excellent, and it is not always easy to find songs that are so deeply nuanced and characterful.

Alabama’s very own princess of rap Flo Milli surprised fans to an early release of her debut album You Still Here, Ho ?, available everywhere now via RCA Records. Speaking about the album, Flo Milli shares: “My album creative is based on early 2000’s nostalgia. As queen of Gen-Z, this is the new age of the Roaring 20s. As a woman and creative, I feel so empowered, full of energy and full of life. I’ve decided to use social media, technology and my resources to uplift and inspire those who look up to me to use what they have, start where they are, and more importantly start today.” To coincide with the album, Flo Milli has also released the music video for her latest single ‘No Face’.

Latto is channeling her “Big Energy” and taking aim at gender roles and sexism with her powerful new single, ‘Pussy.’ The defiant track, accompanied by a subversive image of a woman with her legs spread in front of a building resembling the White House, directly calls out the various types of men — politicians, abusive boyfriends, raging misogynists, incels — who attempt to control female sexuality and womanhood. It’s an aptly timed release for the rising rapper, as women across America are losing the ability to make choices about their own reproductive health following the repeal of Roe v. Wade. “Who is you to bash pussy?” Latto demands in the song’s opening verse, backed by a pitch-shifted sample of Betty Wright’s 1968 single ‘Girls Can’t Do What The Guys Do.’ “Buy the man my respect, watch he paint me as crazy/Y’all sexualize lesbians but y’all entertain me/They engaging, ain’t got supply from they mama basement/If you don’t get a pussy up, then he’ll take it.” [via Rolling Stone]

This week, Rico Nasty is releasing a new mixtape called Las Ruinas, the follow-up to her 2020 studio album debut Nightmare Vacation. We’ve heard a chunk of songs from it already and now she’s back with another one, a hard-hitter called ‘Blow Me,’ which comes with a music video featuring Rico sporting a bunch of different looks while walking what looks like a treadmill runway.
On Friday, CMG released its compilation Gangsta Art, which gives its roster a chance to show off. One of the tracks on that compilation is Glorilla’s new song ‘Tomorrow.’ Over the weekend, Glorilla dropped the ‘Tomorrow’ video, which shows her and her friends partying inside and outside a private jet, doing the kinds of things that you or I might do if private jets suddenly became a part of our lives.
Continually redefining their unique approach to hip-hop, Jesswar announces that the release of their debut mixtape LIFE’S SHORT, LIVE BIG is on its way this September, giving us the first taste with the celebratory new single titled ‘FELL IN LOVE’. Accompanied by a striking music video “something I dreamed of while playing the demo every day on my way to the gym”, shares Jesswar, ‘FELL IN LOVE’ is a lush track with an infectious groove that swirls around incisive lyricism and an effortlessly impactful vocal tone. The Yugambeh/Kombumerri land based artists goes on to tell that “I feel super recharged lately and I’m coming into a new side of myself that feels free and at peace. Making ‘FELL IN LOVE’ is symbolic for me, not only personally but creatively it gave me room to be gentle and blissful. This is a new path in my journey and I’m ready to be completely submerged in it.” [via Pilerats]

San Diego-based, Cleveland-raised R&B/ hip-hop artist Kajé caught our ears with her genre-bending musical style. Her new video release is a combination of two songs ‘Stress Em’ and ‘New Money’, seamlessly bound into one. ‘Stress Em’ is a mellow melodic rap tune where Kajé utilizes her feminine energy to entangle men into submission. Backed by a bouncy and soulful boom-bap beat, she lays down the law with her mellow, sexy flow and sultry lyrics that aim to seduce and hypnotize men who try to get fresh with her. ‘New Money’ is a hustler’s anthem where she employs a moody, downtempo trap beat that underpins her airy melodic runs and unapologetic lyrics about securing her bag by any means. Both tracks were produced by Rizleigh. The 2-part visuals were shot by Breakneck Visuals who help accentuate Kajé’s distinct styles accordingly. The ‘Stress Em’ record gets a DIY and straightforward approach with its laidback set-piece with the singer sporting a tomboyish look. ‘New Money’ switches it up with a sexy and expressive aesthetic that ties into her go-getter personality.
Cardi B has shared the music video for her latest single ‘Hot Shit’, featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk. The video was directed by filmmaker Lado Kvataniya, marking the first time he and Cardi have worked together. It depicts the rapper atop of a skyscraper, as well as walking down the side of it, while Lil Durk performs his verse from atop a submerged car underneath a bridge. Later in the video, a masked figure dances in front of a motorcycle during West’s verse. Due to the figure never revealing their face, which is covered by either a helmet or a cloak for the entire video, it is unclear whether it is actually West himself in the clip. [via NME]

Nothing in this life is guaranteed, but if Rico Nasty comes out with a new song called ‘Black Punk,’ then you should probably listen to that song. Rico has messed around with a lot of different styles over the years, but her bedrock is chaotic, energy-charged mosh music, and her latest track locks right into that. For a while now, Rico Nasty has been following her 2020 album Nightmare Vacation with a series of one-off singles — ‘Money’ with Flo Milli, ‘Vaderz’ with Bktherula, ‘Intrusive.’ Now, she’s released ‘Black Punk’ as a kind of Juneteenth-weekend celebration. On the song, Rico talks gleeful shit over detuned guitars and hammering 808s, and she sounds amazing. In the video, Rico and friends get into a wild scene in a grimy bathroom, and everyone in the clip looks cooler than anyone you know. [via Stereogum]

Rising Cardiff artist Deyah has provided us with some fresh material in the form of a song titled ‘Suffa’. Deyah has been making a name for herself with smooth drops such as ‘Shoreditch’ and ‘Ultimate Dinner Party’ but she adopts a more energetic delivery on this new joint. The powerful Otis Saint Carter production prompts Deyah to come through with a hard-hitting approach; letting off her sharp bars and flows in the process. The visuals are equally as striking as the song and capture Deyah performing the song while covered in a wax-like liquid from head to toe. [via GRM Daily]

Since making one of the best rap albums of 2020, Flo Milli has been sticking to dropping a loose single here and there — including ‘Roaring 20s,’ the Dora The Explorer-sampling ‘Back Pack,’ and ‘PBC.’ Last year, she also teamed up with Rico Nasty on ‘Money.’ Recently, Flo Milli has been teasing a new single called ‘Conceited.’ That song is here now. “Feeling myself/ I’m conceited,” she raps on the hook, locking into her characteristic snarl. [via Stereogum]
