“I am so excited to finally share ‘The Letter’, the first track to be released from my debut album!” says Georgia. “Making this album has been such an incredible experience… pushing my creativity and musical capacity to the seams and I’m deeply proud of the body of work I’ve created. It’s pretty special finally getting to start sharing what I’ve been working on for the past two years. ‘The Letter’ was written on my first writing trip to Los Angeles at the end of 2022 and for me is one of the most special, honest and deeply personal songs I have ever written.”

Written during the same trip where Georgia wrote the hit single, ‘Monopoly’, ‘The Letter’ was co-written alongside Ricky Manning and Whakaio Taahi. Mixed by Nic Manders and mastered by Kog Studio, ‘The Letter’ highlights Georgia’s unparalleled ability to create an intimate connection through her lyrics, with the track offering a tantalising glimpse into the musical brilliance that lies ahead for her debut album – The Rose Of Jericho– set for release on June 7.

Following the phenomenal success of her previous chart-topper, ‘Monopoly,’ ‘Romeo’ leans even further into the pop-soundscape Georgia has become synonymous with. Layered vocals, stacked harmonies, 80s inspired synths and hook-laden choruses are paired with an intensity in the lyrics, as Georgia explores universal themes of relationship fantasies vs. realities.

“‘Romeo’ is about the reality of the tensions you can sometimes feel in a relationship and wanting the ease of the ‘Romeo’ fantasy,” she explains. “The track follows on from the pop era I have been in over the last little while. Following on from ‘Nothing But Love’ and ‘Monopoly,’ ‘Romeo’ closes the pop chapter before launching into my debut album.”

Co-written with Joseph Farris, who also produced the track, ‘Romeo’ underwent many iterations before the duo finally landed on the perfect version. “‘Romeo’ went through so many changes, so many versions, so many different versions of the choruses,” says Georgia. “At one stage we almost threw the baby out with the bathwater and deleted the entire chorus for a whole day. When we had a break and gained some sonic perspective/fresh ears, we realised “wait”; we’ve literally deleted everything that made the song so great!”

‘Monopoly’ encapsulates the iconic vibe of 80s/90s pop; an infectious bass line, punchy drum hits and a captivating groove. In her signature style, Georgia has infused her latest track with impeccable harmonies and a soulful flair, showcasing her exceptional vocal range and control.

“Sonically the track fits into a world where Prince meets Haim, layered with MJ stacked vocals.” explains Georgia. “My favorite combination!”

The new single was written and recorded with Jussi Ilmari Karvinen (better known as Jussifer) – a Finnish-American producer, songwriter and musician who has worked with Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato, Ellie Goulding, Bebe Rexha and more.

Created on a recent writing trip to LA, the single explores a childhood experience of Georgia’s; one which translates to universal themes of life and loss. “I wrote ‘Monopoly’ about a vivid memory I have as a young child (around eight years old), camping in NZ and playing a game of Monopoly with my family,” says Georgia. “As it often happens in life… things were going really well; I was winning in the game, buying all my property, collecting my money… feeling really stoked with myself. All of a sudden things changed and I lost everything. I went on to have a full meltdown, not coping with the fact that I had lost. Safe to say, this was the last time I played Monopoly.

“When we first thought about making the ‘Monopoly’ video, we just wanted something simple and fun to match the energy of the song. We were first thinking of just a visualizer, but once we started filming, we got caught up in the excitement and ended up creating a full-blown music video. We loved how it turned out, with all the bright colours and dance party vibes, and it perfectly captures the fun-loving spirit of the track.”
