Powerful, forward-thinking metal quartet KNIFE BRIDE have released a new single intended to lift you up.

Vocalist Mollie Clack says of the track, ‘WORTHY’,: “Last year I fell in love under circumstances that felt massively shameful. I couldn’t help but despise myself for all of the damage I had caused. This song is a reminder that you are always worthy of love. Even when you feel yourself morphing into something you don’t recognise. You are inherently worthy.”

Inspired by a plethora of artists from Bad Omens and Northlane to Paramore, the track packs more than a punch, showcasing Clack’s versatile vocal, which she delivers with apparent ease.

Rockshots Records is excited to announce the release of Highway Queen’s latest official music video for their song ‘I’m Calling You’. This new video continues the Finnish rockers’ tradition of blending powerful melodies with an electrifying mix of hard rock and metal influences.

‘I’m Calling You’ is featured on the band’s latest EP Extendead Play released on January 17, 2025. The EP showcases Highway Queen’s signature style, merging 80s-inspired hard rock with modern melodic elements, intense riffs and dynamic rhythms. The lyrics of ‘I’m Calling You’ delve into deep emotions, expressing themes of longing, passion and determination, capturing the essence of the band’s storytelling prowess.

Melodic prog metal powerhouse Diamantide unveils the captivating music video for ‘Poor Kings’, a standout track from their self-titled album, Diamantide, available now via Wormholedeath Records.

Blending poetic storytelling with their signature dynamic sound, ‘Poor Kings’ dives deep into the symbolic parallels between kings and queens, exploring themes of power, love, and vulnerability. The track’s evocative lyrics challenge the cold pursuit of authority, questioning why kings, burdened by dominance, fail to fight for the love of their queens, who represent longing and emotional depth. With its thought-provoking narrative and haunting melodies, ‘Poor Kings’ captures the heartbreaking cost of isolation and detachment, creating a profound commentary on the human condition.

Glasgow’s Cwfen (pronounced ‘Coven’) have announced that they will be releasing their debut album Sorrows on May 30 via New Heavy Sounds (MWWB, Death Pill, Shooting Daggers). Their music is described as having the glacial ferocity of Amenra, with the velvet-and-razor vocals of King Woman, and the rotting grandeur of Type O Negative.

Today they have also shared a video for new single ‘Wolfsbane’, which according to vocalist/guitarist Agnes Alder is, “on the surface, it’s about poison. At its heart, it’s an ode to the untamed female rage that comes when the world tries to carve us into something smaller.”

Laurenne/Louhimo – the collaboration between powerhouse Finnish vocalists Noora Louhimo (Battle Beast) and Netta Laurenne (Smackbound) – are pleased to unveil their new single, ‘The Cradle’, taken from their sophomore album Falling Through Stars, set for release on April 18 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Talking about the new single, Noora Louhimo stated: “’The Cradle’ is a song I really love and relate to. I love the atmosphere and the melody of the song – melancholy and hopeful at the same time. I love how mine and Netta’s voices go so well together in the song, “like cats in the cradle”.

Netta Laurenne added: “’The Cradle’ is a lyrical and ethereally melancholic song with musical vibes from the ’80s. It tackles themes of self-doubt and depression. All of us are confronted with sorrow and hardship in this world, and sometimes we lose sight of what’s good in our lives and fall into the pit of self-pity. I like how Noora and I bring very different tones to the vocals, each reflecting our own cradle of sorrow”.

ELUVEITIE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Awen’, is taken from the Swiss folk metal band’s upcoming new album, Ànv, which is scheduled to be released in April this year, via Nuclear Blast Records.

Speaking about the new song, frontman Chrigel Glanzmann shares, “’Awen’ is musically perhaps one of the album’s catchiest songs… sticking our necks out on pretty modern metal music, at the same time with a chorus coming in with that very traditional, mystically melancholic, solemn kind of ‘grandeur’, much like older ELUVEITIE songs such as Of Fire, Wind & Wisdom, Slania‘s Song, or Alesia. Lyrically it time-travels some fairly bold lines off that several thousand years old mythological text Ànv is based on, into the modern age and makes them speak directly to us and our modern civilizations! We’re really happy with and proud of it and we hope you’ll like it as much as we do!”

EDGE OF PARADISE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Give It To Me (Mind Assassin)’, is taken from the Los Angeles-based cinematic metal band’s new album, Prophecy, which is out now, via Napalm Records.

Speaking about the new song, vocalist Margarita Monet shares, “this high-energy, explosive track embodies the ultimate showdown between the human mind and artificial intelligence. An intense battle for the soul, where the fight against digital manipulation becomes a quest for true connection and self-discovery amid the chaos of an increasingly controlled existence.

“We’re heading towards a world where we could intertwine with artificial intelligence, redefine reality and possibly unlock limitless potential for ourselves—but what would be the price to pay?”

Marking the third single taken from Cyan Kicks‘ upcoming mysterious new project, ‘Echo’ offers a fiery and heartfelt ode to love found within one’s deepest and darkest moments. Balancing ethereal sweetness and nu-wave heavy, it serves as a bold reminder of their extraordinary songwriting.

On the week of her highly anticipated DEADGIRL mixtape release fearless Doom Trap artist Mimi Barks unveiled yet another slaughtering offering in the form of a music video for her track ‘ASHES’. The single will feature on DEADGIRL’ alongside a collection of her most recent and upcoming singles. With Mimi Barks proving that defeat isn’t the downfall, it’s an obstacle she now shares one of her most powerful music videos to date. A statement of her vision and a true testament of overcoming those past demons. Talking about the meaning behind ‘ASHES’, Mimi Barks shares, “Women who posed a threat during the dark ages were accused of being witches, intimidated, burned alive, and sentenced to execution. Today, ever since the Age of Enlightenment, a creative, strong-willed, and self-assured woman still gets burnt to the stake verbally by those led by their own anxieties.”

Dynamic London-based duo WARGASM uncover the explosive music video for their song ‘Super Fiend’. On ‘Super Fiend’ the band said: “Inspired by the bleakness of the 2000AD comic universe, the sound of slipknot and the way our society is moving: we wrote this song because we want to be left alone, free from fake friends and the posturing that can plague the relationships around us. It’s nice to be nice, but it’s also nice sometimes to just be. With the human experience comes a spectrum of emotions. Anger is energy, suck it up and feel how you feel.”

‘Off with their heads’ is the latest track from Nu Metal sister duo, Nyrobi & Chaya of ALT BLK ERA and they leave nothing in reserve! With an eccentric Alice in Wonderland theme, the song is about the Queen of Hearts’ rampage through life, in a delusional state of grandeur. In essence, there are two halves to this track which becomes more manic as it develops. Metal, Rap, Electronic sounds and fierce female vocals build throughout, leaving listeners describing it as ‘pure freedom & chaos’.

Finnish rockers Highway Queen’s debut full-length Bitter Soul is out now via Rockshots Records. For the album’s release day, the band shared their latest music video for the record’s opening track ‘Hey’, a classic 80’s style hard rock song that tells the story about feeling lust for someone, but you are unfortunately stonewalled.

Rockshots Records will be releasing Finnish rockers Highway Queen‘s debut full-length Bitter Soul this coming December. The album is a collection of rock and metal songs with beautiful melodies, and strong riffs with heavy drums and bass. Each song shows the listener the stylistic versatility of the band. Now, the band presents their second single ‘Getting On Your Knees’ accompanied by a music video. The track is classic heavy metal to tell a story about revenge against someone who has betrayed you badly.

21-year-old Lyzzie Larosa—aka Babychaos, the alternative model turned solo musician—is anything but predictable. Babychaos has shared the video for ‘icon.’ With a multi-range of influences that extend from industrial, rock, classical, and club music genres to nostalgic 90s and 00s rock/metal soundscapes, Babychaos delivers an intense, heavy, electronic, eclectic experience that is refreshing to the music scene. “The ego is a fragile thing until it takes over,” the artist says. “‘icon’ is an anthem for post-destruction of the self and entering an era of unapologetic expression and stepping over those who tried to block your way. But is that always a good thing? Being the first single for my first EP iconography, I felt it fitting to implement religious symbolism in the video to represent my ego and designing myself as an ‘icon’ to overpower the hidden, ugly layers of myself that I wouldn’t want others to see. I also included a scene of me ‘injecting’ something into my mouth/lips to represent both filth and vanity, as both are prominent and important for me as an artist. It’s important to strip the pretty layers of yourself down to keep going.” [via Outburn]

Epica have released a video for ‘Sirens – Of Blood And Water’ feat. Charlotte Wessels and Myrkur, featured on the band’s collaborative mini-album, The Alchemy Project, out now.

Netherlands-based Gothic/symphonic metal outfit Blackbriar have signed with Nuclear Blast Records. With three EP’s and a full-length album already out, the group are ready for their next chapter while working on their second record. To celebrate the signing, the band has shared a video for their new song “Crimson Faces.” Vocalist Zora Cock comments: “‘Crimson Faces’ tells a story of being haunted by ghosts, jealousy, and insecurities, based on the old classic Gothic novel ‘Rebecca’. You asked us to make a different kind of music video, one of us performing instead of portraying a story, and we thought ‘Crimson Faces’ was the perfect song to do this with. We hope we’ve fulfilled your wishes!” [via Metal Insider]

BABYMETAL have shared the new song ‘Monochrome,’ the second single from their forthcoming concept album, THE OTHER ONE, arriving March 24. ‘Monochrome’ continues the Japanese band’s push into heavier, more extreme territories. Grinding hi-fi riffs separate melodically sung verses, recalling the sonic contrasts of ’90s/’00s alternative metal such as Evanescence and Korn. While there are still elements of the pop-metal sound of yore, BABYMETAL are clearly embracing a darker prog direction with their latest material. [via Consequence]

Canadian melodic power thrashers Triskelyon will be unleashing their debut album Downfall on October 28 via Washington state-based extreme metal label Moribund Records. Now, the band presents their latest music video for the single ‘Balance of Terror’. The song features vocals from Amanda Marie Jackman (Category VI). Band founder Geoff Waye explains the track: “‘Balance of Terror’ is primarily a nod to the best classic Star Trek episode (Star Trek: The Original Series: Season 1, Episode 14). It’s also about the balance of power that has been built up over the decades. The music video was filmed along the coastline in the area of Cape Spear Newfoundland. There’s a couple of shots from with the large guns that were a part of Newfoundland’s coastal defense during WWII.”

Look up to the sky to see the ‘Burning Horizon’, the next music video for the third single from Italian progressive avant-garde metal MindAheaD in support of their sophomore story album 6119 Part 1 being released via Rockshots Records on October 28. The band adds about the track: “‘Burning Horizon’ is direct and catchy both melodically and structurally; it focuses on the voices that intersect and duet, sometimes harmoniously, sometimes aggressively opposing each other. The instrumental part is articulate, but always keeping an eye on melody and easy assimilation. The orchestrations also play an important role, providing a backdrop to the burned horizon that will turn into a desert very soon.”

BABYMETAL have shared ‘Divine Attack – Shingeki,’ the lead single from their forthcoming concept album, THE OTHER ONE, arriving March 23. The song breaks new ground for BABYMETAL, forgoing the dance-centric metal style of the group’s prior work for a heavier, post-hardcore approach. It marks the first new music from BABYMETAL since the 2020 single ‘BxMxC.’ The track also serves an introduction to the new album’s ambitious concept, which reads more like a science-fiction film plot rather than a thematic collection of songs. As the press release tells it, BABYMETAL were “sealed” from the world after a 10-year journey and were finally recovered within the virtual “METALVERSE” in April 2022 via “THE OTHER ONE restoration project.” A total of 10 songs were discovered within the restoration project, each “representing a unique theme based on 10 separate parallel worlds.” One of the worlds is dubbed “CAVALRY,” which ‘Divine Attack – Shingeki’ is based on, “alluding to a cavalry preparing for their next battle.” For the first time, lead singer SU-METAL penned the lyrics.
Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of Finnish rockers Highway Queen for their debut full-length Bitter Soul, a collection of rock and metal songs with beautiful melodies, strong riffs with heavy drums and bass. Each song shows the listener the stylistic versatility of the band. The album is due out on December 16 and follows their 2021 singles ‘Walls Are Burned’, ‘You Better Run’ and ‘Hellfire’ released via Inverse Records. Songs on Bitter Soul are all about scenarios in one’s life. The lyrics tell stories about gnawing the burden of shame, anger, and bitterness. They also talk about the burden that carries through generations. They are about people’s weaknesses too. The stories are also about overcoming these challenges. “From our first self-releases and singles with Inverse Records to this album, our sound is definitely going from a lighter to heavier direction. Every song has its own mood so feeling vary throughout the album. There are parts in the album with bluesy vibes to parts that have strong doom or even thrash vibes. It all blends together with a touch of 80’s style. Every song on the record has its own mood.” adds the band. Now, the band presents their first single and album title track with a music video. The band explains the song in further detail: “We wanted to compose a very simple and blues-like song. We tossed around ideas and played and played until we got verse and chorus ready. Still, we weren’t pleased with the chorus. We had a session with the producer and we introduced the song to him. He also thought that it wasn’t ready yet. So we played the song and tried to think out of the box and the chorus came out. The guitar has a gloomy riff to give the song a darker shade. The bass came out to be strong together with simple and tight drums still giving some spice on its own. Bitter Soul tells about a woman who has lost her loved ones. Her soul has died. She regrets and mourns but she doesn’t know how she can change the things she has done.”
