Melbourne indie rocker Suzi returns with ‘Short Lived,’ a euphoric guitar-driven anthem that perfectly captures her knack for writing irresistibly catchy indie rock. Blending elements of indie pop, rock and a touch of pop-punk, the track is another confident showcase of an artist whose infectious song-writing continues to gather momentum.

Suzi’s wonderfully authentic Aussie vocal immediately steals the spotlight, brimming with the kind of personality that makes every lyric feel genuine and lived-in. Bright, shimmering guitars drive the song from start to finish, while huge melodies and crunchy hooks ensure ‘Short Lived’ lodges itself firmly in your head. Fans of The Beths will certainly find plenty to enjoy in its energetic, melody-first approach.

More than anything, ‘Short Lived’ radiates joy. It’s the sort of song that feels destined for packed venues, with crowds singing every word back at the top of their lungs, dancing without a care and losing themselves in its infectious energy. Bright, uplifting and endlessly replayable, it’s another standout from one of Australia’s most exciting indie voices.

Dublin singer-songwriter Sadhbh Keane returns with ‘Hate Me Now,’ an emotionally charged indie rock anthem that offers another glimpse of her forthcoming second EP, due later this autumn. Produced by Philip Magee, the track captures the aftermath of heartbreak while pairing deeply personal song-writing with an uplifting, full-bodied sound.

Drawing on the same emotional honesty found in artists such as boygenius, Sam Fender and fellow Irish favourites Pillow Queens, ‘Hate Me Now’ thrives on its balance of introspection and soaring indie rock energy. Driving guitars and polished production provide the perfect backdrop for Sadhbh’s distinctive vocal, which brings warmth, character and authenticity to every line. Rather than dwelling solely in sadness, the song carries an underlying sense of resilience that lifts it beyond heartbreak.

While its lyrics explore the lingering emotions of a fractured relationship, ‘Hate Me Now’ feels equally suited to a festival field as it does a solitary listen through headphones. It’s the kind of song destined to become a live favourite, inviting audiences to sing every word back while finding strength in its bittersweet honesty.

Berlin-based sister duo Record Pink tap into the chaos, frustration and emotional intensity of growing up on their latest single, ‘Won’t Go.’ Blending driving indie-rock guitars with infectious melodies and heartfelt songwriting, the track captures what the band describe as “the helplessness of trying but not moving forward,” transforming that feeling into something both deeply personal and undeniably anthemic.

It’s the chorus that immediately demands attention. Catchy and emotionally charged without ever tipping into melodrama, it anchors a song that wears its ’90s indie-rock influences proudly. Driving guitars propel the track forward, while a well-placed guitar solo adds an extra burst of energy, further enhancing the song’s cinematic quality. Meanwhile, the sisters’ vocal harmonies are simple but incredibly effective, adding warmth and emotional depth without ever overshadowing the track’s momentum.

There’s a nostalgic quality running throughout ‘Won’t Go’ that makes it feel tailor-made for a coming-of-age movie montage: the pivotal scene where everything feels overwhelming, exhilarating and uncertain all at once. Balancing introspection with catharsis, Record Pink have crafted a track that captures the emotional turbulence of growing up while remaining irresistibly uplifting.

Tory Silver (she/they) is a Pittsburgh-based indie-rock musician whose music weaves elements of garage rock and indie pop to channel the small joys and inevitable uncertainties of residing in a body.

This week she announces her upcoming album In Through the Front with Lasers, out May 29 via Michi Tapes. It takes its title from a bandmate’s kidney stone procedure – “they had to go in through the front with lasers” — and deals with chronic pain, losing a friend to a cult, jealousy, overthinking death, and the jobs that make everything worse.

Produced and engineered by Melina Cortez Duterte (Jay Som) and recorded at Duterte’s Los Angeles home studio with additional sessions in Pittsburgh with Greg Kump, the album swirls together a mix of heavy guitars and catchy choruses, though the lyrics cut deeper than the production lets on. Bright surfaces covering raw nerves. The songs sit with discomfort, acknowledging that some things don’t resolve – they just persist – and locate the work in response: not how to avoid the pain, but how to meet it.

Alongside the album announcement, Silver shares the new single and video for ‘Microwave.’ Over jangly electric guitars, she muses on routines and tribulations, with the track coaxing wistfulness away from the mundane.

In Through The Front With Lasers:

“’Never Better’ is hypnotic while trying to subconsciously convince your partner you’ll be their favorite ex,” says singer and guitarist Tealarose Coy. “It’s a song you could scream at the top of your lungs in your room for sure.
Southern California based indie rock band, Lavalove, have announced details surrounding their sophomore album. The band will release TAN LINES on April 3 through Pure Noise Records. They also share the lead single and music video for “Sniffin’ Around’ which can be heard here and seen below.

“We wanted to write a song that just felt nostalgic and easy to dance to, even with darker themes,” says singer and guitarist Tealarose Coy. “The music and background vocals are very much “California Cheerleading” but the lyrics are about murdering your cheating boyfriend. It dives into the idea of letting your paranoia take control. We loved the idea of leaving it open ended how the story actually goes but naturally agreeing with the narrator. We support women’s rights and wrongs!”

Lavalove have never been interested in asking for permission. Crashing the party has always felt like the better option, whether carousing through the Southern California bar scene, pushing back against expectation, or chasing the glow of new love. That spirit of escapism sits at the core of TAN LINES, a record rooted in the belief that a brighter, freer life might be just one perfect night away.

Produced by Anton DeLost (State Champs, The Warning), TAN LINES channels the unfiltered thrill of an endless summer into a SoCal surf-meets-indie rock statement that feels both timeless and immediate. Drawing from the simplicity of ’60s pop and surf while filtering it through modern indie, garage rock, and psych-pop textures, the album bursts with effortless melodies, punchy rhythms, and a confident, sun-soaked energy.

ARIA Award-winning indie-rock four-piece Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers return with their “big ego, full menace mode” single ‘BAIT,’ the latest from their highly anticipated new album GLORY — out November 7 via Mom + Pop Music (+ Community Music in AU/NZ). The new track drops alongside its official video which was filmed, edited and directed by the band’s very own Neve van Boxsel.

On new single ‘BAIT,’ Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers are at their most biting and satirical, writing from the perspective of the worst person you’ve ever met: the ego-driven music industry man who thinks he’s God’s gift. Propelled by a thick, muddy bass riff and punctuated by cowbell, Anna Ryan’s almost robotic vocals reflect this man’s general disinterest and come underpinned by restrained guitars chopping in off beat and swirling. “‘BAIT’ is big ego, full menace mode.” the band shares. “We wrote it in LA, channeling a delusional man who thinks he’s God’s gift to earth. It was fun to cosplay as someone we’d all probably hate in real life.”

Aussie indie rock trio Moler swipe right on raw energy and nostalgic punk with ‘AI,’ the group’s first new music since 2019 and a deliciously raucous ride elevated by its accompanying music video.

‘AI’ balances throwback edges, potent energy and compelling vocals alongside its futuristic subject matter. A bustling lovechild of influences, spanning The Lemonheads, The Saints, The Stooges, Blondie, The Runaways, Mudhoney, Sex Pistols and beyond, ‘AI’ also brandishes Moler’s trademark, and globally recognised, sound: “it’s riot grrrl, it’s challenging, but always fun,” explains bassist and lead vocalist Helen Cattanach.

Composed by all three members, Helen alongside new writer and guitarist James (JJ) McCann and drummer David Peacock, ‘AI’ came to life in Moler’s rehearsal room, as Helen elaborates, “We recorded the musical bed track at Sound Park Studios with Andre (Idge) Hehir. I called out all the changes in the music ….One, two, three, four. There was no solid lyrical content yet, just an idea. The full lyrics came together a little later at Caution Horses Recording studio with Miguel Alonso engineering; recording the vocals and mixing it for the album. James & Dave added the “AI” backing vocals and hey presto, done!”

A propulsive masterclass in raw punk and alternative rock, ‘AI’ also unsurprisingly snapshots the real-world evolution and obsession with all things artificial intelligence. “Everyone, I mean everyone, is talking about AI,” shares Helen. “I thought it would be a great topic to write about. There are so many elements to AI that relate directly to music and to all of our lives. The theme of the song was about our possible futuristic, personal relationship to AI….AI as our therapist, our organiser of thoughts, our tool, our emotional relationships. There are so many questions.”

Mastering their brand new track with returning Moler collaborator Lindsay Gravina (Magic Dirt, The Birthday Party) at Birdland Studios, the group also teamed up with a longtime friend and creative compadre Ian White to bring AI’s accompanying music video to vivid and colourful life, “There was no real storyboard or concept for the clip,” explains Helen. “It was, “Can you film something or come to a live show to film? Ian has a long-term connection with Moler, having cut a few videos for the band in the past. The latest, ‘AI’, was mainly cut from live footage from a live show at the Espy, where we showcased our new songs for the first time in front of an audience. Ian asked, “Do you want footage from AI?” I said, “Well, that would be apt.”

Brighton-based four-piece congratulations will release their debut album Join Hands, February 13, 2026 via Bella Union. It is a high-powered, fast-paced 10 track collection of unbridled, intensely groovy indie dance rock and a bright-eyed plea to hang up your worries and let the good times roll. Composed of Jamie Chellar on guitar, Greg Burns on bass, James Gillingham on drums and Leah Stanhope on vocals, the quartet is meticulous in their debauchery, diligently balancing ‘80s pop, ‘00s indie, and a modern-day rock experimentalism into something both deliciously nostalgic and firmly of-the-now.

Strapped with fuzzy guitar licks, electro-clash synth melodies and just the right amount of cowbell, art-pop lead single ‘This Life’ is a bombastic ode to first world problems, and that feeling of losing at life before you’ve ever gotten out of bed. Leah sings of cutting her bangs too short and a listless feeling of 2020s ennui while Jamie’s gargantuan guitar riffs punctuate her words.

Known for not revealing their lyrics, Leah offers one interpretation, “‘This Life’ is an ode to being delusional—you know, people who moan about having the worst time but like in reality like they’ve got a roof over their heads and food to eat, and ultimately, it’s not that deep.” Jamie adds, “The chorus was inspired by Prince, especially the album Parade. I took such care to make sure the funky guitar had those cutting edges Prince could get, like on “I Wonder U”. The song is about the toll day to day life can have on us, we’re all living in our worlds and trying to do our best, but sometimes that’s not enough.”

Clad in primary colour uniforms (the sobriquet “punk rock Power Rangers” has been lobbed in their direction on several occasions), and writing songs about delusional millennials, shadowy boogeymen and really good haircuts, congratulations have made a short-yet-dazzling career of never taking themselves too seriously—in fact, they might be the band who take not taking themselves seriously the most seriously ever.

Produced by Luke Phillips (experimental Bella Union pop artist ICEBEING), congratulations bring a youthful modern touch to their deep appreciation of 1980s pop music, citing Prince, Madonna, and Devo as core references. Join Hands is the magical result when four unique individuals with a shared creative vision come together and make something bigger than themselves. It’s like the uniforms—sure, they look great onstage, but in a weird way, they’re also a metaphor for how the band operates, four musicians delighting in finding their common ground. “There’s no point in us trying to all wear the same thing because all of us are so different,” says Jamie with a laugh. “It’s exactly the same in songwriting, isn’t it?,” posits Leah. “We’re never going to agree, are we?”

“Yeah,” concludes Jamie, “But somehow, it works.”
