retropxssy returns with her new single ‘All The Things’ which showcases her love of raw, minimalist hip-hop with a soulful vibe. The London based artist creates an enticing blend on the track that showcases her eccentric, idiosyncratic flow and ability to make reflective, everyday emotions seem otherworldly and intriguing. It’s real and in the real world, but it’s retropxssy’s world and the reality is very much hers. Sonically inspired by legendary producers like Madlib and Alchemist and Griselda’s innovative Mach Hommy, retropxssy was sent the beat through a chance encounter with producer Tony Bontana on Reddit. She was also aided on production by JoeJas, whom she met by chance on the London Overground. Subsequently, JoeJas has gone on to be her closest creative partner, shooting and co-directing the visual for ‘All The Things’. Based around a loop that’ll stick in your head long after the two minutes are up, ‘All The Things’ sees retropxssy in contemplative mood traversing the urban sprawl of London. She explains more: “‘All The Things’ is about feeling your back against the wall. Monsters in the shadows. Your mind screams run! But where to? I wrote it when I needed to escape from an intolerable place and realised I had nowhere to go. It also mirrors the hostile place my mind can be. I realised, to quote modern cult classic ‘We’re Going on a Bearhunt’: “..we’ll just have to go through it! Squelch through the mud and see where we find ourselves. ” To compliment the release of ‘All The Things’, a video will be released that gives an extra dimension to the song’s already inventive feel. The surreal imagery of the video includes a girl who wants to be a mermaid and a malicious fisherman looking for his next catch. The red gloves should be avoided at all costs.

JT has gone hard for ‘Okay,’ her latest single that finds her bars going even harder. “I’m about to get super annoying promoting okay!” The Miami rapper admitted to her followers on X (formerly Twitter) ahead of the song’s release. “I want this song to GO!” JT shouldn’t have to try too hard to convince people on ‘Okay,’ considering the song oozes infectious confidence. “I’m pretty than a motherfcker, hoes be looking okay,” she raps. “She think that she fckin’ with me, is this btch okay? / He said he ain’t fckin’ around, I look at him like, ‘Okay’ / I used to down bad, but now a b*tch okay.” [via Uproxx]

In February, Rapsody and Erykah Badu debuted a new collaboration at Badu’s birthday party in Dallas. Now, the pair have released that song, which is titled ‘3:AM.’ ‘3:AM’ is produced by Lonestarrrmuzik, Marc Bridges, and S1, and it’s the third single from Rapsody’s forthcoming album Please Don’t Cry, following ‘Stand Tall’ and ‘Asteroids.’ The track features flute from Amber Navran, guitar from Marlon Williams, and horns and keyboards from JeMarcus Bridges and Terrace Martin. FLOHIO is back with a new single. ‘Make It Bang’ – produced by Karma Kid – is her first release since the arrival of debut album Out of Heart in 2022. The pithy offering comes with a captivating visual as well. Directed by AMD Visuals, a longtime Yachty visual collaborator, the ‘RIP FOLLIES’ video is drenched in vibrant hues and striking landscapes. If you are looking to take a break from the traditional trap rap sounds of Southern hip-hop, look no further than BbyMutha. She is certainly doing things differently than most MCs from the area everything from the production to the vocals. A little over a month ago, the Chattanooga resident announced a new album, as well as an accompanying tour to boot. She will be dropping sleep paralysis on April 19, which is two days after she heads out for her 25 shows. To further promote her eighth project, BbyMutha is bringing out the third single which is called ‘lines.’ Out of ‘go!’ and ‘gun kontrol,’ this may be her craziest and most zany track from the album yet. BbyMutha’s ‘lines’ definitely lives up to the title is has. This three-minute track gives you the feeling after taking some seriously trippy psychedelics. The warped beat and hallucinating vocal delivery from her tie everything together in the perfect way that only she could do. [via HNHH]

Nairobi-born, Adelaide-based singer, rapper and producer Elsy Wameyo has shared her new single ‘Sinner,’ a blistering track that puts Wameyo’s virtuosic MC chops on full display. “Introspection brought light to a darkness I never wanted to unveil, the consequences of a munificent heart that had nothing left to give,” Wameyo shares, “My spirit man asleep exposed me to a world that very quickly incapacitated me physically and spiritually. I became a product of my environment and gave in to my flesh, embracing the wickedness and ignorance of its existence. I chose me. I understood that light shines brightest in the dark, so the more I wandered, the closer I would be to returning. Life will forever be a fight between the good and the bad. Bktherula has announced a new project titled LVL 5 P2, the direct sequel to her most recent record. The album is due out March 8 via Warner Records and its lead single, ‘Crayon,’ is out now. On the new song, the Atlanta MC darts across a persistent, bass-heavy beat, moving through two hooks and an interceding verse like a running back slicing through a defensive line. “And that bitch talk so much shit but she ain’t gon’ say nun’ / If you wanna race me up to the top, then bitch, put the Tay-K on,” she raps in a nimble, Auto-Tuned flow. Brooklyn-born recording artist Lola Brooke unveils her latest music video to ‘God Bless All The Rappers.’ The powerful, BenMarc-directed official music video made its broadcast premiere on BET Jams and on the Paramount Times Square billboards. Once again we are greeted with the exploits of a rapper who needs no introduction. Nolay has endured years in the game and still comes out top, synonymous with the battle-esque crows of an artist comfortable in her skin and changing for no one. But this time, our prime mover further turns up the heat. Bouncing back following her last single ‘Stunning‘, Nolay commits to the scent of victory once more by inciting the industry to panic over an array of venomous wordplay intrinsic to the artist, and recognisable to anyone who knows her. Each bar and verse is laced with an intoxicating cable of expertise rarely seen in the game anymore, where Nolay punches holes into beats inspired by Braveheats’ Oochie Wally: “posing in your pictures with some prop money, a broke joke I can’t even get you robbed honey.” These are the verbalisations of confidence in what she is capable of, and this single is but another example of why she is one of the best rappers to grace not only the UK but music itself. It’s the beginning of a new era for JT of City Girls. After sharing her solo single ‘No Bars,’ she’s already garnered much buzzy for her quick-witted punchlines and fiery flows. JT isn’t the only female rapper to catch our attention this weekend – BIA is also holding it down with her latest single, ‘Raised Me.’ She has put her own spin on Petey Pablo’s ‘Raise Up’ flow, reminding us that she’s a force to be reckoned with amid her contemporaries. “Not for nothin’, I got motion, my traction never lackin’ / Say my name, say my name, more Ls, it never happened,” BIA effortlessly flows on her first verse. Later on she begins the chorus with, “Money on my mind and my mind on my money and thе business that pays me / I’m movin’ dangerous, tryna make it home safely.” [via HNHH]

Haviah Mighty is back with a new single, ‘Huh,’ a dancey, breakup track which places the Canadian rapper’s knack for emotional expression at the center of a ready-for-the-club beat. Taking stylistic cues from dancehall, ‘Huh’ balances Haviah’s hard-hitting flow with moments of bubbling, rhythmic goodness.
