In a similar fashion to the song, the Thelma Sibusisiwe-directed visuals are full of energy and creativity as Juice takes us on a lit night out. ‘Pink Notes’ is Juice’s first release of the year and acts as a taste of the vibes to expect from her for the rest of the year.
Hip-Hop act Cakeswagg drops alluring visuals for ‘Big Plays,’ bringing the charm of the golden twenties to life with expansive themes and narratives tied together by her potent musicality. Led by her impactful yet laid-back verses backdropped by fast beats and groovy instrumentation, the track evokes an empowering message about feeling confident in your abilities and not letting yourself become smaller for the sake of others. The vivid visuals play off her bold rap to encapsulate moods of resilience and defiance with charm and suave style. Having established herself a groundbreaking figure in hip-hop, the Boston native who has made it a point to inspire and encourage young girls to dream big through her artistry, delivers ‘Big Plays,’ as a catchy tease ahead of her upcoming full-length project.
ENNY is back with a new single – this time the Emil-produced drop titled ‘No More Naija Men’. A smooth and slow offering, ENNY reflects on dating mishaps, relationship expectations and more on this track that captures the zeitgeist of the present day dating game. ENNY addresses individualism, gender roles and toxicity on this track and accurately depicts many of the emotional perils that come with pursuing romantic endeavours. In a playful video on social media, ENNY promoted the release and presented her fans with an infomercial that invited lovers scorned to visit her website to get revenge. ENNY wrote, “Protecting your rights against Nigerian Men. Have you recently had your heart broken by a man that promised you a future? Made love to you like you wanted to have kids? Did he introduce you to his friends and family as his “wife“? Did you find out he had fathered a child in the duration of your relationship and have three other girls “coming to you as woman“? Was that man a Nigerian man? Well you could be owed a substantial amount in compensation and healing.” [via GRM Daily]

Praise is a 20-year-old rapper from Brooklyn, NY. ‘Tempted’ utilizes the best parts of the ‘Tempted to Touch’ vocal sample under Praise’s upfront, braggadocious lyrics. It’s an anthem that gets heads bobbing and cars blasting it out of their stereo speakers. Her attitude coincides with her passion and lyrical intelligence, making for a complete, drill banger for the masses. Praise’s upbringing and surroundings gave her inspiration for this track. Praise talks about the conflict of living in a place that requires being tough to survive, and being feminine. Praise wanted to put out a Drill song as Drill is the sound of the city right now and she wants to embrace and embody New York. Praise about the song, “It samples ‘Tempted to touch’ by Rupee, but has hard lyrics that represent my experience as a woman raised in Brooklyn. It’s a mix of being pretty and girlie, but also having that gangsta attitude that’s “with whatever.” The song to me is a representation of me stepping into my confidence as an artist, and I would my audience to get a similar feeling as listeners.”

The rapper and dancer brings some energetic flows to an off kilter and sample driven instrumental, that lends itself way to her lively cadence. [via GRM Daily]

Mulalo is quickly becoming the most iconic rapper out of Australia, solidifying her amazing energy, aura and voice with her newest single ‘Tracy Grimshaw’.
With her Clean Slate EP out now, Cardiff rhymer Juice Menace has decided to release visuals for one of the more personal songs on the project, ‘Me vs Me’. Detailing her personal journey, Juice lets herself be vulnerable and allows the listeners in on how she’s been feeling lately. Certain things in life and the music industry have led to her becoming antisocial, emphasising how the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. She lays out countless noteworthy and hard-hitting bars, such as “I heard them say that money is what makes the world turn, but the value of your life will never equal what you earn.” Juice’s inner battles have shaped her into having a wise mentality and in ‘Me Vs Me’, she gives us all a little piece of her brilliant mind.
