Megan Thee Stallion is back with a new single, ‘Hiss,’ co-produced by LilJuMadeDaBeat and Bankroll Got It. It’s her follow-up to last November’s ‘Cobra,’ and both are expected to appear on the rapper’s upcoming third studio album, due out some time this year. Her last studio album was 2022’s Traumazine. [via Stereogum]

Ice Spice broke out in 2022 with ‘Munch’ and had an even bigger year in 2023 with her debut EP Like…?. Now, the Bronx rapper is back with a new single that has the very lol-worthy title ‘Think U The Shit (Fart).’ It’s the first taste of a project called Y2K, which Ice Spice started teasing last year.
Jersey Club queen UNIIQU3 has linked up with the DJ duo Black Caviar to drop her latest single, ‘Price Going Up’ ahead of her tour with Tinashe. Out now, the energetic dance-pop track marks the debut single from UNIIQU3’s forthcoming EP in collaboration with Black Caviar, Ramen Noodles, set for release this March. ‘Price Going Up’ follows ‘Body Moves,’ a collaboration between UNIIQU3 The Glitch Mob and Samurai Breaks, which dropped last September. Speaking on the release, UNIIQU3 said: “I’ve always have fun making music with Black Caviar. The production is filled with so much energy. When I collaborated with them for U NASTY I knew that wasn’t the last time we’d work together. My favourite thing about ‘Price Going Up’ is that it’s really a song about manifesting. It’s something I do often, it’s something I was doing heavily when recording this. Just imagining myself in a new elevated place in life mentally, physically and of course financially! Yesterday’s Price ain’t today’s price and that’s real life for me. This song is for my manifestors, for the shot callers and people who don’t plan on dimming their light to make others comfortable.” [via DJ Mag]

ATL-based Grammy nominated rapper Latto drops ‘Put It On Da Floor’ via RCA Records. Debuted at Coachella Weekend 1, Latto’s latest single is produced by Go Grizzly (Future), Squat & Pooh Beatz (Jack Harlow). This follows the release of her single and video ‘Lottery’ featuring LU KALA.

Philadelphia’s genre-smashing duo GHÖSH released a new single and music video titled ‘Devil Lady’ and announced their new EP PRISMASSIVE, out May 26 on Ramp Local. “I have a difficult relationship with religion,” says GHÖSH vocalist Symphony Spell about the new single. “I grew up Baptist and I hated it. Church was always a place where I felt alienated and judged. I went to the kind of church and was raised by the kind of people who find the devil in anything they don’t like. The devil is in heavy music, the devil is in dark clothing, the devil is gay and slutty. I spent a lot of time afraid of the devil even though the devil seemed to be everywhere, in everything I love. Once I decided to honor the evil in myself, I felt liberated by the power. I have spent a lot of time trying to find the archetype for evil that is powerful, feminine and coquettish. Who is the hot goddess of the underworld or the powerful witch who’s actually pretty cute? There aren’t a lot out there; evil women are so often portrayed as haggard hermits. I wrote this song to help myself embody that creature. I reference some of my favorite feminine mythological entities like harpies, sirens, Pomba Gira and Strega Nona as means to harness their energy. Honoring the wickedness in the divine feminine is radical. It feels deliciously mischievous to declare that so proudly. Am I possessed? I might be.”

Chicago newcomer RG Coca releases her new single ‘Lost It’. In the track’s visual, we see her confidence and undeniable creativity on full display, as we watch her escape the law after a failed heist. On the track, RG Coca continues to deliver the same high-energy lyricism as seen on her recent From the Block performance.

Multi-platinum recording artist Coi Leray, has released two new singles: ‘Bops’ and ‘My Body’ via Uptown Records/Republic Records. The fittingly-titled track ‘Bops’, finds Coi proudly proving her success as a chart-topping artist who can crank up a smash hit after hit.

The combination of Rico Nasty and 100 Gecs has already proven electric. Now the brash rap iconoclast and hyperpop poster children have linked up again. ‘Turn It Up’ is not the genre-bending head trip you might expect from a Rico x Gecs summit. It’s a hard, straightforward hip-hop track with lots of empty space for Rico’s bloodthirsty growl to roam around in. The track arrives with a video by Isaac Garcia in which Rico plays a house cleaner who terrorizes a hapless suburban couple. [via Stereogum]

Texas-bred, California-based artist Anaya LoveNote has shared a new visual for her single ‘Preference.’ Defiant and electrifying, ‘Preference’ makes for an anthem for female empowerment, and the accompanying new video does well to enhance its lively, roof-raising sound. ‘Preference’ contains hard-hitting, infectious production centred around boisterous 808s and crisp percussion, with addictive arpeggiated synths layered above. Atop the powerful instrumentation, LoveNote delivers stylish, fierce vocals that find her smoothly weaving together lines at a rapid pace. The new video captures the track’s colorful, exciting sound through its usage of fast-paced shots packed with action, as well as a charismatic performance from LoveNote herself. Regarding the release, LoveNote says, “‘Preference’ is a song inspired by how I was dating a really really huge celebrity and at one point I lost myself in that person. I was very distracted. I wasn’t going to the studio, and working on me and he ended up breaking me to the point where I lost myself. I was getting high one day and I was so broken and I just prayed and I started writing – Preference is the song that came from all those emotions and feelings.” [via Earmilk]

Teezandos has let off a new tune dubbed ‘Magic Wand’. Continuing to set pace, Teezandos’ goes in across a fiery drill production to establish her sound further for 2022. The accompanying video sees her perform the track across various London landmarks to add depth to the energetic vocals and performance itself. [via GRM Daily]

Latto celebrates all the boss bitches in the new video for ‘It’s Givin’ from her album 777. ‘It’s Givin’ was one of the album’s standouts, receiving attention on its release night for its thumping beat and motivational messaging. Latto keeps that energy with the video, creating an inclusive workspace where all women can be bosses. The video highlights several disabled women and features cameos from stars like Angie Martinez, Ella Mai, Flo Milli, and Chloe and Halle Bailey, as Latto herself leads business meetings and drapes herself over the copy machine in a heavily modified business suit with strategic cutouts that show off her assets. [via UPROXX]

Nyota Parker is a rapper, vocalist and songwriter with Congolese and Irish heritage, based in Cape Town, South Africa. Her uniquely mixed background allows her to draw from rap and hip hop, jazz, trap, soul and more into what she terms as “Trazz.” The 21-year-old artist recently dropped her debut album Spectrum last November and its deluxe version earlier this month and now she shares the visual for the title track. The record is a blend of lofi, soulful textures with soft trap drum grooves provided by American producer, Jazz Groupiez. Nyota sure sounds at home and delivers a laidback unapologetic performance with insightful lyrics that dwell on self growth, awareness and focusing on one’s dreams despite the odds. The video is shot by Pink Lemonade Skate who makes use of the summer aesthetic of Cape Town, capturing the beautiful serene scenery and of course Nyota’s laidback and unassuming performance style.
Going against the grain is just Kelow LaTesha’s style. The Prince George’s County, Maryland rapper has an animated and playful take on DMV rap that allows her to stand out from the sea of dead-eyed flows and bluntness associated with street rap from the region. Her new EP Turbo breezes through a variety of modes in 20 minutes. ‘Relax’ is a syrupy sugar rush. Over the blown-out drums, she stretches her voice until it sounds like it’s about to squeak. Kelow has all the space in the world to try carve out new grooves over the hypnotic beat. She’s rapping with a machine’s precision in the first verse, forcing every syllable to land a uniform distance apart. In the second verse, Kelow switches to a smooth melodic flow that sounds like she’s leaning back in a recliner. [via the FADER]

Alabama’s very own princess of rap Flo Milli surprised fans to an early release of her debut album You Still Here, Ho ?, available everywhere now via RCA Records. Speaking about the album, Flo Milli shares: “My album creative is based on early 2000’s nostalgia. As queen of Gen-Z, this is the new age of the Roaring 20s. As a woman and creative, I feel so empowered, full of energy and full of life. I’ve decided to use social media, technology and my resources to uplift and inspire those who look up to me to use what they have, start where they are, and more importantly start today.” To coincide with the album, Flo Milli has also released the music video for her latest single ‘No Face’.

Latto is channeling her “Big Energy” and taking aim at gender roles and sexism with her powerful new single, ‘Pussy.’ The defiant track, accompanied by a subversive image of a woman with her legs spread in front of a building resembling the White House, directly calls out the various types of men — politicians, abusive boyfriends, raging misogynists, incels — who attempt to control female sexuality and womanhood. It’s an aptly timed release for the rising rapper, as women across America are losing the ability to make choices about their own reproductive health following the repeal of Roe v. Wade. “Who is you to bash pussy?” Latto demands in the song’s opening verse, backed by a pitch-shifted sample of Betty Wright’s 1968 single ‘Girls Can’t Do What The Guys Do.’ “Buy the man my respect, watch he paint me as crazy/Y’all sexualize lesbians but y’all entertain me/They engaging, ain’t got supply from they mama basement/If you don’t get a pussy up, then he’ll take it.” [via Rolling Stone]

Following up her recent viral single ‘Lose the Ugly’, her latest is a vibrant offering that not only has a potent message but also stays authentic to her sound and roots. ‘Guess What’ opens with an ear-worm guitar line before heavy, crisp percussion, driving 808s, and electrifying synths drop in to build an addictive rhythm. Over top of the sturdy instrumentation, Diamond delivers self-assured, focused verses that discuss self-love and empowerment. She touches on subverting society’s expectations and having the courage to be oneself, an inspiring message that is bolstered by the song’s powerful production. To cap it off, she delivers a catchy, charismatic hook that demonstrates her ability to craft sharp, addictive flows, giving this single added replay value. [via Earmilk]

Trina really deserves more. The Miami icon has been so good for so long, that it seems as though her consistency gets her overlooked. She’s also well-known for extending her platform to younger female rappers, blessing them with both her encouragement and her cosign. Rappers whose careers she’s helped include City Girls, LightSkinKeisha and Tokyo Jetz. Fortunately, it seems at least some of the popular ladies she’s assisted remember her help and are willing to return the favor. On her latest single, ‘Clap,’ Trina reunites with Latto for a frenzied strip club anthem that finds the two rappers playing femme fatale, stressing both their beauty and their danger. I guess you could say that the song’s a warning that looks kill. New 10 track project tabula rasa is more considered as a result, matching the raucous Southern hip-hop she grew up with alongside what she terms “swag music…” A project that embodies personal evolution, tabula rasa is marked by a search for truth. Now, she’s dropped another new single, a collaboration with ascendant Atanta rapper Bktherula. Rico has a bunch of different styles, and the new track ‘Vaderz’ returns her to the frantic, punk-influenced SoundCloud rap that helped make her famous in the first place. The song jams a whole lot of jagged energy into two minutes, and Rico and Bktherula have great on-record chemistry. The two of them trade off lines, matching each other’s energy and lining up with each other’s punchlines. Bktherula: “That ho bananers if she thought I was green and insane like Invader Zim.” Rico: “No Hannah Montaner/ This ain’t no double life, bitch, it’s really the way that I live.” Check out the hectic lo-fi ‘Vaderz’ video below.
