Logic1000 joins forces with Christine and the Queens on ‘The Only One’, the latest glimpse of forthcoming second album Confirmation!. Written as a message to the younger generation inheriting an uncertain world, the track places trust in their ability to reshape what comes next. As Rahim puts it simply, “Music has to be a vessel for hope.”

Logic1000 creates a warm, spacious electronic backdrop around that message, pairing a steady pulsing beat with dreamy synths and hints of luminous 80s synth-pop. There’s melancholy running beneath the surface, but flashes of uplift prevent it from becoming weighed down by its subject. Rather than chasing a dramatic peak, the track settles into its atmosphere and stays there, allowing Rahim’s unmistakable voice to sit prominently above the production. His delivery is deeply emotive without needing to force the sentiment, bringing an intimacy to a song concerned with something much bigger than itself.

That passing of the baton becomes beautifully literal in the accompanying video. A young dancer initially takes the floor alone in a vast hall before Rahim joins her for loose, playful choreography. Gradually, a troupe of children dressed similarly to Rahim enters the picture, eventually taking centre stage together. It’s a simple but affecting visual representation of the song’s message: trusting the next generation enough to make space, then letting them lead.

Ahead of the release of her debut album Mother (out March 22 via Therapy / Because Music) Logic1000 — the alias of Berlin-based producer Samantha Poulter — has shared a new track ‘Promises’ which features Rochelle Jordan.

Following previous singles ‘Grown On Me,’ ‘Self To Blame (feat. Kayla Blackmon),’ and ‘Every Lil’ (Feat. DJ Plead and MJ Nebreda),’ ‘Promises’ is a rousing, deep house heater with the soulful vocals from Rochelle Jordan once again showcasing Poulter’s keen ear for guests who perfectly compliment her music while showcasing exciting rising talent.

Speaking of the track, Poulter says: “I first found out about Rochelle Jordan after coming across her track ‘DANCING ELEPHANTS,’ which I adore and played out a bunch over the last two years. Hearing that she was interested in working on this song with us was a bit of a pinch myself moment. I vividly remember hearing the recording she sent over for the first time — our jaws were on the floor. I feel like ‘Promises’ is ‘classic’ Logic1000, a tender piece of house music that still works in a club setting. We are so deeply proud of this song.”

Rochelle Jordan says: “This track is such a beautiful feeling. I actually had these lyrics for a little while before I heard the Logic1000 beat. They instantly became reimagined and melted so beautifully onto the track.”

Logic1000 — AKA Sydney-born, Berlin-based DJ Samantha Poulter, who’s risen quickly after support from underground dance music icons like Four Tet and Caribou and ace remixes for the likes of Fever Ray, Glass Animals, Christine and the Queens, Flume, Orbital, and so many others — announces the March 22 release of her debut album Mother (Because Music).

Accompanying the announcement is the release of ‘Self To Blame’ a garage-inflected foray into vocal house that features the rising singer Kayla Blackmon.

Written in collaboration with her long-time creative partner Tom McAlister (Cop Envy, Big Ever), Mother is a crystallization of Logic1000’s unique marriage of the rich, chaotic sounds of mid-2000s mainstream R&B and the rhythmic tics and tricks of all of modern house music’s idiomatic corners. It revels in the thrill of creation, and serves as a love letter to house music and how it’s changed Logic1000’s life.

That creative verve was largely inspired by another big change in Poulter’s: new motherhood. Says Poulter: “I felt so much love and inspiration entering into motherhood that I just needed to create. I never thought I would be capable of something so powerful”.
