Subtly euphoric new single ‘miss u’ – the EP’s second taste following last month’s ‘hush hush’ – thumps with an air of nostalgia. With its warm synths, throwback breakbeats and Luna’s ethereal vocals, the song captures a longing for a past connection.

Speaking on the release of the new single, Luna said: “‘miss u’ represents the reminiscing stage after the breakup, when you find yourself estranged from the person you used to share everything with. I wanted to capture the yearning for the intimacy you once shared, when they still saw you as a part of them. Despite seeking solace in a foreign place, it’s impossible to escape the overwhelming feeling of missing them.”

‘Dance Dance (Don’t Go)’ captures a storm of emotion within its pulsing sonic walls complemented by Luna’s confident, nonchalant attitude. A different take on yearning, it’s playful and disruptive as it explores desire and the potential of a friend becoming something more.

Luna explains: “‘Dance Dance (Don’t Go)’ is a daydream about a long term crush. It’s about hidden looks and lusty-thoughts in a close knit friendship, where you don’t want to lose the person, but also can’t help falling for them.

“It’s when you try to suppress your emotions, that opening the door to the fantasy becomes like a delicious rush on its own, possibly surpassing reality by far. The melancholy of knowing that there is no future in it battles with the euphoria of feeling for someone so intensely.”

In the track’s DIY music video Luna and her friends break away from the mundanity of day-to-day life and forget their troubles in the club. “I rounded up some friends and we took a camcorder with us on a night out to capture that feeling of escapism” Luna says. “I wanted to achieve a big contrast between the fantasy and the feeling of being stuck in a routine, so we also filmed at a local supermarket near where I live, to capture that Groundhog day feeling. The discman and headphones act as a portal between the mundane and the reverie.”
