Today, Madeline releases her new single ‘Fish Astronaut’ and we have an exclusive look at an interview Madeline recently did with her friend, LA-based videographer and photographer Ben Shani, about the track. Watch below.

“Writing ‘Fish Astronaut’ with my husband, Alec Daniels, was one of those rare moments where a song just poured out of us—honest, raw, and completely unfiltered. It’s about feeling like you don’t belong, like you’re searching for something bigger, and coming to terms with the fact that maybe you were never meant to fit in at all. Having Matt Costa, one of my songwriting heroes, produce this track was surreal. His music has been such a huge part of my life, and to have him not only believe in this song but bring it to life in such a beautiful, organic way was a dream come true,” says Madeline.

“I recently sat down with Ben Shani for an interview where Alec and I talked about the meaning behind ‘Fish Astronaut’ and the journey of writing it together. It was a really special conversation—one that dives into the creative process and the emotions behind the song. I’m so excited to share this song and this story with the world.”
