Brazilian Rock band Malvada are excited to announce the release of their self-titled album, out on June 13 via Frontiers Music Srl. Their new single and accompanying video, ‘I’m Sorry’, are also available now.

The band commented on the new album: “It is the result of two years of work, and we are very excited to show the world how much Malvada has grown. We believe it is the best work of our lives and everyone will like it, as it shows our real essence. You will have a real experience”.

About the new single, they added: “It is a song that reflects our reality, being in music means that sometimes we have to be away from people we love. It is a song we made for them. And it is very emotional for us”.

POWERHILL deliver an electrifying ’80s flashback and bring the Rock ’n’ Roll spirit of bygone days to the alpine pasture with their ‘Farm Metal’ mixtape and the new single ‘Generation X’ as the upcoming album’s title track.

Rockshots Records and Secret Rule are thrilled to announce the release of the band’s brand new single called ‘Just A Sacrifice’ available on all digital platforms now, and accompanied by a music video. The track offers the first glimpse into the band’s highly anticipated tenth studio album, due for release later this year.

‘Just A Sacrifice’ is a powerful anthem about the cost of staying true to oneself in a world that demands conformity. Blending heavy guitars, intense vocals, and a bold, wide-open chorus, the song captures both the emotional toll and the inner strength that come with resisting societal pressure.

“This song is about the price we pay for thinking freely, speaking our truth, and refusing to follow the crowd,” the band comments. “It’s deeply personal but also a quiet political statement.”

Talented Brazilian Rock band Malvada are excited to unveil their new single and official music video, ‘Dead Like You’, out now via Frontiers Music Srl.

Malvada commented on the new single, by saying: “’Dead Like You’ is heavy, modern and surprising. We hope you immerse yourself in the world of this song”.

13-year-old screamer Harper has been showcasing her own twist on metalcore, and has just upped the ante with a heavy and pensive new single called ‘Thorn in My Side.’

The track bounds through noise-fractured riffage and glossy-and-synth-sparkled production work. Throughout, Harper sings and howls about living in a world of suffering, being betrayed by others, and standing her ground (“If it’s war, then ima give it to you”).

“‘Thorn in My Side’ was written when there just seemed to be a lot of bad things happening in the world,” she said in a statement. “Whenever I’d be in the car and the news came on the radio or even watching TV there was just nothing positive happening.”

She added: “Lyrically it’s pretty dark and just a statement of frustration. I also really wanted to push myself on this song, I’m still learning so much about my voice and what It can do, so it’s been really fun challenging myself to become a better vocalist.” [via Revolver]

Gothenburg-based post-metalcore band Aligned is back with their second single of 2025 and it’s a banger. Aligned is now streaming their new single ‘Control’ alongside a captivating and moody music video directed by Linda Florin (Dark Tranquillity, The Unguided).

On the single itself, Aligned offered: “‘Control’ further shows the progression Aligned is headed towards a unique take on modern metal, merging the raw intensity of metalcore with subtle touches of melodic metal and a haunting sense of melancholy.” [via Metal Injection]

Sorceress of Sin have proudly unveiled the lyric video for their single ‘Reina,’ a poetic tribute to Hera, the Queen of the Gods in Greek mythology. Lisa Skinner’s sublime and powerful vocals, paired with Constantine’s masterful guitar work, create a soundscape as grand and commanding as the goddess herself, perfectly capturing Hera’s magnificence. ‘Reina’ is a track from the band’s album Ennea, which is due for release on December 20. The lyrics delve into Hera’s dual nature, portraying her as a protective, majestic deity and a fierce, vengeful force. This layered depiction reflects her role as a divine hero and a formidable presence in mythology, embodying the complexity and grandeur of her character.

Oxford’s fast-rising nu-metal outfit, Arimea, have shared the official music video for their brand-new single, ‘Orchid Street’ – taken from their debut EP, which is out now under the same name. “To me, ‘Orchid street’ feels like the arrival at home. Musically, it’s a place I have been trying to get to for a long time, but it’s been difficult to find with every new genre and style holding up a big ‘come in’ sign above it, and It’s hard not to fall into the pit of sounding like everything else. I’m a person that struggles to convey my emotions with words, but I can with music, ‘Orchid street’ is the sound of my childhood and all of the memories I have attached to it, but dressed up for ready for the real world, emotionally ready, and knows what it is,” says drummer, Richard Stedman.

Sydney’s 51st Avenue are back and sounding heavier than ever, with their huge new track ‘Moments’ – a track that delves into new territory thematically and sonically, and is the first to feature new bandmate Anthony Carollo on bass duties. Starting things off with a moody synth and drum machine section, vocalist Alynnis Zizza’s vocals build tension perfectly in the verse before the track erupts in the first chorus; with huge modern-metalcore riffage pushing the song to the next level. During the writing process for ‘Moments’, Zizza took more of a lighthearted approach and decided to have fun with the track lyrically – describing a one night stand, a topic that strays from the bands often more introspective lyricism. “I’ve been waiting for a track that makes me feel like dancing so when I heard the instrumental of ‘Moments’, I couldn’t help but move. It’s really different to our other tracks so I figured why not lean into that and write about something we haven’t before. It’s also not a very long track at all so naming it ‘Moments’ and writing about a one night stand felt very appropriate and heaps of fun! I’ve also been in my mum era so a step out of that was refreshing,” says Alynnis Zizza.

Finnish melodic metal band Unén proudly unveil their first official single and video, ‘My Love’s Broken’. “After countless disappointments in relationships, one becomes numb and cold… There is nothing left to give to another person, and yet the endless search for the perfect person continues. It’s always easier to leave everything behind and start anew”, says singer Stina Girs about the song. The band describes the concept behind the video: “The main character starts sculpting a vision of perfection, only to shatter it, symbolizing the disappointments in love and relationships. Piece by piece, she starts tearing it apart. At this stage, the mood of the performance shots also changes, and crumbling clay begins to fall on the band members”. “Around the visual storytelling, we see super slow motion shots of the band and Stina’s vocal parts, which are filmed both in slow motion and at normal speed. The music video is filmed at the historic Lapinlahti Hospital in Finland, one of the oldest psychiatric hospitals in Europe” they continue.

Talented Brazilian Rock band Malvada unveil their new single and video, ‘Down The Walls’, out now via Frontiers Music Srl. Talking about the single, singer Indira Castilho says “’Down the walls’ is a song that describes a relationship based on lies and psychological control. It tells about a situation that many women go through but that is never discussed. The music aims to show the reality, alert women and bring courage to face this situation”. “The riffs are very heavy, rhythmic and connected to the drums”, adds guitarist Bruna Tsuruda. Drummer Juliana Salgado describes it as “a strong music, with strong guitar riffs and drum beats”, while bassist Rafaela Reoli states “I think it’s the perfect song to introduce Malvada to the world”.

Arch Enemy have unveiled their first new music since their acclaimed 2022 album, Deceivers, by surprise releasing the new single and video ‘Dream Stealer.’ The veteran extreme metal band’s guitarist Michael Amott stated, “First new Arch Enemy song we release in a little while and it feels good to be back! It was a blast working on ‘Dream Stealer’ in the studio, this song just has the high energy and twisted atmosphere that makes it so fun to play! Crank it up, loud and heavy! Metal is immortal!” After a haunting instrumental intro, singer Alissa White-Gluz kicks off the vocals with a monster scream, and goes full guttural for the rest of the powerful track. The song is accompanied by an equally dramatic music video, directed by Patric Ullaeus. [via Consequence]

FUTURE PALACE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Decarabia,’ is taken from the German post-hardcore band’s upcoming new album, Distortion, which is scheduled to be released in September this year, via Arising Empire. The band have dedicated the new single to the relationships of people who are suffering from mental illnesses. The picture the band paints of this difficult circumstance is engagingly complex and asks fundamental questions: How much can we help the loved ones around us when we ourselves are already dealing with so many of our own demons? How can we not be alone in our struggles when at the same time we see how it becomes too much for our counterpart? “It’s not just bad if you yourself lose joy in life. It hurts all the more when you find out that a loved person has to deal with it,” vocalist Maria Lessing explains, reporting on experiences that come from her own life. “It’s a struggle to try to support someone when you need all your strength to be able to function. But in the end you can resolve even such serious problems with work and growth and become happy together. In any case, I hope so.” [via Distorted Sound]

Just over a month out from Jinjer’s next U.S. tour, the Ukrainian prog-metal crushers have dropped a surprise single that may well pop into their upcoming setlists. The song, titled ‘Someone’s Daughter,’ arrives as a percussively punishing, and spirit-empowering battle anthem. The studio track finds the act once again needling into precision drum battery, bassist Eugene Kostyuk’s slippery fretwork, and vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk’s cascade of immaculate melodies and rumbling death-growls. The music video, which you can see below, mixes performance footage with CGI landscapes. With its lyrics themed around cutting a signature path in the world as a woman, Shmayluk also gets into character while seemingly dressing up as iconic figures like chemist Marie Curie or Egyptian ruler Cleopatra. “´Someone’s Daughter´ is an artistic attempt to cast the light on the inner world of women, who in various scenarios and circumstances, have had to choose a path that was historically made by men,” the singer said in a statement. “In a world where women are often underestimated and overlooked, they are still powerful heroes who navigate hardship with strength and resilience, unapologetically becoming themselves and breaking barriers in the face of the challenges that face them. ‘Someone’s Daughter’ celebrates transitions from naivety into wisdom, weakness into force, unwavering determination, and fearlessness as our mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives walk through adversity and fight for better change. These women are often forgotten but they have earned respect. They‘ve earned mine, that’s for sure!” [via Revolver]

Criminal activity and psychology has been at the forefront of SKYND’s music from the start, observing the bleakest and most horrific aspects of the human condition through musical and lyrical examinations of true crimes and their impact on the victims and society. Marking the duo’s second single of 2024, ‘Violets are Blue’ looks at the 2012 murder of Jun Lin by Luka Magnotta, with Skynd and Father saying that the case points out the severity of mental health issues and the importance of recognizing and addressing them before they lead to violence, as well as the ethical responsibilities of the media and the criminal justice system. Jun Lin was an international student at Concordia University in Montreal, studying computer engineering; he was stabbed and dismembered by Luka Rocco Magnotta, who mailed parts of Lin’s body to schools and political party offices, as well as posted videos online depicting the murder – this has led to him being referred to as an “Internet Killer.” Magnotta was arrested in Berlin less than a month later, and was sentenced two years later to life and an additional 19 years for other charges such as sexual assault, animal abuse, and public obscenity – during his trial, issues of his mental stability were raised, including diagnoses of schizophrenia and several personality disorders. As Lin was a gay man, SKYND has also pointed out the purpose of ‘Violets are Blue’ to discuss the impact such crimes have on the LGBTQ+ community. “This case brought attention to issues of violence within the community and the unique vulnerabilities faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and it therefore felt very important for me to explore,” Skynd says, pointing out the importance of standing up for diversity in the band’s music. The accompanying music video was directed by regular SKYND collaborator P.R. Brown, produced by Anique Wild, and stars David Bruckner. [via ReGen Mag]

Italian metal masters Lacuna Coil have unveiled a new single titled ‘Hosting the Shadow’ featuring guest vocals from Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe. The song marks another new stand-alone single from Lacuna Coil, who earlier this year unveiled the track ‘In the Mean Time’ featuring New Years Day singer Ash Costello. While Lacuna Coil are already known for their dual vocal attack from Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro, Blythe takes the band’s sound to a new extreme. After an extended instrumental intro, the Lamb of God singer’s voice is heard first on the song, as he delivers his signature growl in the verses, where he is eventually joined by Ferro. Scabbia’s clean singing then arrives in the melodic chorus. “‘Hosting the Shadow’ is a trip through light and dark, where silence reveals its hidden secrets,” stated Lacuna Coil. “Obscure moments can become occasions to evolve, to learn to master one’s own shadow — which is crucial in order to prevail. Randy Blythe did an incredible job on this track, we absolutely adore his voice and his evil laugh!” The band continued, “Our admiration for him is infinite and to have him as a guest on this song is a dream come true. Partnering with a friend you respect immensely, that also kicks ass on stages around the world: it doesn’t get any better than this. We’re looking forward to the day we can perform ‘Hosting the Shadow’ live together!” [via Consequence]

Stand Atlantic have shared a new single, ‘FRENEMIES’. The new track explores the theme of complicated friendships, as lead singer Bonnie Fraser explains: “FRENEMIES is about rocky friendships and not knowing where you stand with someone. We’ve thrown it back a lil more in this track for the OG fans stylistically but in a fresh lil way.” It’s a cut from new album WAS HERE, due August 23, which represents an evolution in Stand Atlantic’s sound, pushing into darker, heavier, and more experimental territory.
Finnish rock sensations Ginger Evil are proudly unveiling their first official single and video, ‘Rainmaker’ via Frontiers Music. An energetic blast of rock,”Rainmaker is an empowering song for those who are in a ruff spot in their lives. It brings a beam of hope to the darkness and reminds of how important it is to stand by one another, during hard times.” – says singer Ella Tepponen. “But it’s not either too heavy or serious, and is a fun rock jam to sing along, especially the bridge/chorus-parts!.” – she continues.

Brazilian Rock band MALVADA is releasing its new single and video, ‘Veneno’ via Frontiers Music. The first song written with the band’s new line-up and the first to be released on Frontiers, ‘Veneno’ is a piece about duality and women’s psychology, as stated by singer Indira Castillo: “These lyrics describe a lot about what it is to be a woman, about our dualities, about what it is to be poison and at the same time our own antidote. I hope that people communicate and identify with this duality that exists in human being.” “’Veneno’, for me, is the light and shadow that exists in human beings, which is very present in female psychology. It is precisely about the importance of duality” – adds bassist Rafaela Reoli. Musically, “’Veneno’ it’s the juice of national pop rock” – according to drummer Juliana Salgado. “We took a little bit of everything we like to hear in Brazilian rock music, put it together and it turned out in something really… Malvada.” Guitarist Bruna Tsuruda also recalls how Veneno “was the first song we made together with the new formation, and that’s why it’s so special: it was the first sign of the new era. We flowed very easily and Veneno was the proof that the new formation would flow easily.

Canadian blackened death symphonic metal band Valfreya is proud to announce the release of their sixth album Dawn of Reckoning on May 24. To whet the palettes of those who enjoy epic and dark metal, now they are releasing a lyric video for the single ‘The Rise’. The concept album sees the band take their darkest turn as they lean into the blackened end of the metal spectrum and follow the goddess Hel as she wreaks havoc upon humanity. The band comments on the album: “Dawn of Reckoning is a concept album. The main theme revolves around the anger of the goddess Hel which plays the metaphorical role of a fatal justice towards a guilty humanity. The songs convey this anger, but also a range of intense emotions related to the execution of humankind. Musically, you will hear dark symphonies, epic choirs, versatile vocals alongside tumultuous guitars and violin riffs.”

LEAGUE OF DISTORTION have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘My Hate Will Go On’, is the brand new single from the German modern metal band and marks their first new music since their self-titled debut album, which was released back in November 2022. Speaking about the new single, the band says, “yes, we are back with a new song that is like a good punch in your face. Provocative and strong as ever, with a deep message processing injustice. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes and are proud to share this new song and video with you now. This is a promise that we will not surrender and there will be more from LEAGUE OF DISTORTION coming soon.” [via Distorted Sound]

Canadian modern power metal icons UNLEASH THE ARCHERS recently announced the upcoming release of their massive sixth studio album, Phantoma, out May 10 via Napalm Records. Following the album’s first two singles ‘Green & Glass’ and ‘Ghosts In The Mist’, the Vancouver based five-piece has revealed their soaring third single, ‘Seeking Vengeance,’ along with a new music video. Beginning with a fast paced guitar lead and modernized power metal attacks, the song entrances with a powerful chorus and intricate dual solo. On the new concept album, listeners join protagonist Phantoma, a Phase 4 / Network Tier 0 unit – model A, on an inspiring yet harrowing journey as she discovers the brutal truths behind the manufactured sheen of social media posturing on a dystopian, near-future planet earth. With the band’s one-of-a-kind blend of power metal, traditional heavy metal, modern prog and pop sensibilities, Phantoma spins a web of sharp musicality, high sci-fi concept and important social commentary. Brittney Slayes of UNLEASH THE ARCHERS says about ‘Seeking Vengeance’: “This is the moment in the story when Phantoma comes to terms with what she must do and who she must become in order to do it. We worked really hard to make sure the music reflects the energy of the moment, and I think the video does a great job of portraying the inner struggle as well. This was filmed and edited by the boys at RuneGate Studio and they focused on using lighting and different lenses to create a dynamic visual experience. The song is the darkest moment of the album but it is juxtaposed with an uplifting chorus melody that was actually inspired by classic Disney ’hero anthems’. This one was a unanimous single choice for us and we can’t wait to play it live for you all at our upcoming shows! Hope you enjoy.” [via Outburn]

A journey from the ominous darkness of the Abyss to the freeing and energizing dreamscapes of Elysium, passing through the hope and empowerment found at the Surface.
