Alabama’s very own princess of rap Flo Milli drops her new track ‘Wet Dreams’ featuring coop & G G via RCA Records. This latest track also has a LEFF-directed official video that is a whole vibe. From the blue lighting and vibrant glowing lingerie in a hotel room to car rides to the beach, the girls know how to set a scene. This release follows Flo dropping another LEFF-directed visual, but for her popular song ‘Toast’ from her latest album Fine Ho, Stay, which was the third release from her trilogy – 2022’s You Still Here Ho? and 2020’s Ho, Why Is You Here?.

Brooklyn rapper Lola Brooke has released a new single titled ‘No One Else’, featuring R&B artist Jeremih. The track, released via Team Eighty Productions/Arista Records, follows Brooke’s ‘Dennis Daughter (Deluxe)’ project, which was released in April. Brooke comments on the new release, saying: “With ‘No One Else’, you hear more of Lola, the lover girl. We all have feelings, and your girl is in a soft girl mood that you will hear more about with this track and maybe a few more. Going into making this track, I wanted to create something timeless with feel-good energy based on the music I listen to. I’m a rapper who loves R&B, especially the sound from the 90’s. From the special sauce, Jeremih adds to my PG-13 lyrics [laughs], there’s an element here that everyone can vibe to for cuffing season with bae, HA!” [via Dork]

DAYSH has yearned for deeper connection on her latest single, ‘IDK’. The bouncy trap-pop cut sees the London-born musician wax poetic on wanting more from her relationships, as soundtracked by propulsive snare drums and dynamic rap flows. The sound of the song itself is compelling enough, but DAYSH tops it all off with some mesmeric delivery and razor-sharp lyrical observations. Perhaps the major drawcard of ‘IDK’ is DAYSH’s unique and flexible rap cadences, which stretch acrobatically around the beat and make for a consistently engaging listen. The rapper isn’t confined to any one rhyme scheme, and instead changes the flow on whim while ensuring her lyrics pull focus. It’s the kind of unique flow that recalls the likes of Noname, Lil Simz or Tierra Whack, but DAYSH makes it wholly her own with some personal storytelling. “I was going through a bad break up at the time,” DAYSH said of the song’s genesis in a press statement, “So I found myself surrounded daily by all these people that didn’t know me even close to the depths of which the person I just became strangers with did.” It’s a personal yet relatable tale of feeling starved of connection, and it sees DAYSH yearn for someone to share her successes with. “Need deeper connection,” she spits on a hook that’s infinitely replayable, “All of the demons I fight, half-resting.” It’s one of many incisive bars delivered by DAYSH on ‘IDK’, a track which more than leaves its mark.
Paigey Cakey has this week released her brand new single, a new one called ‘For Me’, accompanied by an official set of visuals. The track features a bouncy instrumental that channels the sound of early 2000s American rap, blending nostalgic vibes with a fresh twist. She seamlessly combines her signature rapped verses with smooth, melodic hooks as she reflects on a special person in her life. The visuals complement the track’s upbeat energy, showcasing her confident presence and personal storytelling. [via GRM Daily]

Megan Thee Stallion has released her new single, ‘Neva Play’, featuring RM of K-pop boyband BTS. The K-pop star does not appear in its music video, instead an animated version of the duo use their superpowers to fight monsters and carry out a heist. “One, two, three, four (One, two, three, four) / Five, six, seven, eight (Five, six, seven, eight) / Let ’em know we on the way / Countin’ zeros everyday / You know that we neva play,” they rap.
Ice Spice broke out in 2022 with ‘Munch’ and had an even bigger year in 2023 with her debut EP Like…?. Now, the Bronx rapper is back with a new single that has the very lol-worthy title ‘Think U The Shit (Fart).’ It’s the first taste of a project called Y2K, which Ice Spice started teasing last year.
Jersey Club queen UNIIQU3 has linked up with the DJ duo Black Caviar to drop her latest single, ‘Price Going Up’ ahead of her tour with Tinashe. Out now, the energetic dance-pop track marks the debut single from UNIIQU3’s forthcoming EP in collaboration with Black Caviar, Ramen Noodles, set for release this March. ‘Price Going Up’ follows ‘Body Moves,’ a collaboration between UNIIQU3 The Glitch Mob and Samurai Breaks, which dropped last September. Speaking on the release, UNIIQU3 said: “I’ve always have fun making music with Black Caviar. The production is filled with so much energy. When I collaborated with them for U NASTY I knew that wasn’t the last time we’d work together. My favourite thing about ‘Price Going Up’ is that it’s really a song about manifesting. It’s something I do often, it’s something I was doing heavily when recording this. Just imagining myself in a new elevated place in life mentally, physically and of course financially! Yesterday’s Price ain’t today’s price and that’s real life for me. This song is for my manifestors, for the shot callers and people who don’t plan on dimming their light to make others comfortable.” [via DJ Mag]

Building off of her viral momentum, St. Louis’s hottest new voice Big Boss Vette unloads a new single ‘How TF’ featuring Sleazyworld Go via Beatstaz/Amigo Records/Republic Records. Over a hard-hitting beat Big Boss Vette seamlessly trades slick bars with Sleazyworld Go as they candidly observe and rhetorically question the new status of their success. Pride rips through their lyrics as they confidently ask, “How the fuck, Did I just spend 150 on a Benz?” and “How the fuck, Did I run up all these M’s from a pan?”

FLOHIO is turning things up a notch with igniting single ‘Highest.’ Inching towards a highly anticipated debut album, Out Of Heart now finds itself round the corner following a string of super-charged singles. The latest offering is robust in its trap-leaning production, losing itself to racing synths, 808 samples and an all-absorbing, distorted bass. Taking a new direction from the downtempo instospector ‘Cuddy Buddy,’ the track is a boost of confidence and triumph. First making her mark in 2016 with ‘SE16,’ an ode to Bermondsey that saw FLOHIO merge forces with industrial hip-hop duo GOD COLONY. Fast-forward to the current day, the Lagos-born, London-raised rapper has acquired an exhaustive list of prestigious cosigns under her belt, from British Vogue, Naomi Campbell, Dazed 100 to BBC’s Sound Of poll. Allowing herself to take free creative reign on her sound, FLOHIO has become increasingly distinguished in her eclectic reach in genres and collaborators, equally gravitating towards the likes of The Streets or Modeselektor. ‘Highest’ foreshadows a bold and self-empowered debut from the rapper, now feeling all the more established and secure in her stance. FLOHIO comments: “I grew up around the time of games like Playstations and Nintendos; I’m bringing back the nostalgia of me in my living room playing games with my friends at age 10. Game soundtracks like Final Fantasy and Super Mario. I wanted [Out of Heart] to speak to my inner child and where it all started while bringing me back to now and who I am today.” [via Clash]

Nicki Minaj has shared a video for her raunchy song ‘Super Freaky Girl.’ The song interpolates Rick James’ 1981 hit ‘Super Freak.’ In the track‘s visual, Minaj cosplays at James and appears as a Nicki Barbie complete with a pink home and robot kitty.
GloRilla‘s had the summer on smash with the release of her single, ‘F.N.F.’ It became the quintessential City Girl anthem for summer 2022, earning praise and co-signs from artists like Yo Gotti and Travis Scott. However, with her newly announced deal with CMG, it looks like she’s revving up for the release of her debut project. GloRilla connects with Yo Gotti for the release of her new single, ‘Blessed.’ The Macaroni Toni-produced record finds GloRilla’s tackling rattling 808s and an infectious whistle as she reflects on her journey. She details the trials and tribulations she’s faced in amazement as she basks in her current success.
Megan Thee Stallion has shared a new video for her Traumazine track ‘Ungrateful’. The clip, which is directed yet again by Colin Tilley, opens with the rapper in her bedroom, before she heads to a funeral and teams up with Memphis rapper Key Glock.
Praise is a 20-year-old rapper from Brooklyn, NY. ‘Tempted’ utilizes the best parts of the ‘Tempted to Touch’ vocal sample under Praise’s upfront, braggadocious lyrics. It’s an anthem that gets heads bobbing and cars blasting it out of their stereo speakers. Her attitude coincides with her passion and lyrical intelligence, making for a complete, drill banger for the masses. Praise’s upbringing and surroundings gave her inspiration for this track. Praise talks about the conflict of living in a place that requires being tough to survive, and being feminine. Praise wanted to put out a Drill song as Drill is the sound of the city right now and she wants to embrace and embody New York. Praise about the song, “It samples ‘Tempted to touch’ by Rupee, but has hard lyrics that represent my experience as a woman raised in Brooklyn. It’s a mix of being pretty and girlie, but also having that gangsta attitude that’s “with whatever.” The song to me is a representation of me stepping into my confidence as an artist, and I would my audience to get a similar feeling as listeners.”

Rising star Dreya Mac has been on a run for the past year or so and she looks to maintain that with the release of new single ‘Square Up’.
Mulalo is quickly becoming the most iconic rapper out of Australia, solidifying her amazing energy, aura and voice with her newest single ‘Tracy Grimshaw’. The track showcases that Mulalo is a part of a new wave of Australian music, one that is not afraid to be brash and confident and present ideas that are beyond the typical state of mind of traditional Australian music cultures. This one is a must listen, especially its amazing outro. [via Purple Sneakers]

Certain things in life and the music industry have led to her becoming antisocial, emphasising how the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. She lays out countless noteworthy and hard-hitting bars, such as “I heard them say that money is what makes the world turn, but the value of your life will never equal what you earn.” Juice’s inner battles have shaped her into having a wise mentality and in ‘Me Vs Me’, she gives us all a little piece of her brilliant mind.
Ms Banks has shared her new EP Bank Statement in full. The multi-faceted UK rapper is one of the best in the game, someone whose deep system heritage is matched to a highly personal approach to music. Bank Statement is a rounded return, with Ms Banks moving from fan favourites ‘Bounce’ and ‘Favourite Girl’ to something a little deeper, too. It’s a fiery UK rap offering, with Ms Banks once more leading from the front. Asserting her worth in titanic style, the EP is out now, with ‘Favourite Girl’ gaining a slick Teezey C directed video. Ms Banks comments… “A bank statement is necessary to prove a multitude of things, proof of address, proof of income, proof of name etc. My Bank Statement proves that women are multifaceted, we can be soft, we can be vulnerable but also a boss and tough. My Bank statement proves I am versatile and I can make bangers whilst killing any beat I jump on…” [via Clash]

Last time we got a Megan Thee Stallion single, it was ‘Sweetest Pie’ with Dua Lipa. But more music is on the way — last month, the Houston rapper told Rolling Stone how she was working on her forthcoming sophomore album — the follow-up to 2020’s Good News — which she hopes to have out this summer. That brings us up to now, where Megan shared a new collab with Future called ‘Pressurelicious.’ Sharing the track artwork on Instagram, she captioned: “Hot Girls Up 10000000000000 points.” Opening up a bit more about the mood of her new album, Megan told Rolling Stone: “I want to take you through so many different emotions. At first you was twerking, now you might be crying.” Of working with Future, she said: “He just so fucking ratchet! He is unapologetically himself. I appreciate that about anybody who gets up and has to do anything in the public eye. Anybody who has to read about their life online every day and deal with so many energies and can put it out into their music and do it gracefully, I feel like you deserve your flowers.” [via Stereogum]

Flohio will release debut album Out Of Heart on October 7. The rapper is one of the most tipped artists in the country, with her natural ability on the mic matched to an impeccable ear for production. She’s made fans wait for a debut album, releasing a steady string of projects while finessing her skills. Now she’s ready to move. Out Of Heart taps into her roots, with Flohio exemplifying natural talent, and precious youth. She comments… “I grew up around the time of games like Playstations and Nintendos; I’m bringing back the nostalgia of me in my living room playing games with my friends at age 10. Game soundtracks like Final Fantasy and Super Mario. I wanted [Out of Heart] to speak to my inner child and where it all started while bringing me back to now and who I am today.” New single ‘SPF’ is produced by SPEECH, a bold return with its punchy percussion underpinning a stellar performance from Flohio. [via Clash]

Coming through with visuals for her new drop titled ‘Black Glamour’ is Cardiff rhymer Deyah. Reconnecting with producer Otis Saint Carter, Deyah delivers another hard-hitting cut where she creates some powerful imagery with her lyrics which are delivered with clarity. ‘Black Glamour’ is the title track from Deyah’s upcoming mixtape which is due for release in August. The track and its intense visuals follow on from ‘Suffa’ which is also expected to feature on the project. [via GRM Daily]

Sampa The Great has shared new single ‘Bona’. An artist whose work thrives on complexity, incoming album As Above, So Below finds Sampa The Great adding fresh laters to her music. New single ‘Bona’ is a case in point. Leaning on the power and vitality of her youth in Botswana, she contrasts this with cutting edge sounds from the southern half of the African continent. So, expect the production palette – helmed by Zambian figure Mag44, alongside Sampa herself – to fuse kwaito and amapiano into a hip-hop sequence. The relentless lyrical flow finds Sampa The Great speaking her truth, seeking to platform communities not normally placed in the spotlight. Capturing the “swag of Botswana youth” this new single is a riveting, unrelenting statement. She says…”‘Bona’ is a chance for me to shine light on other elements of music that I was influenced by when growing up, outside of Zambian music. I want to bring a Southern African anthem to the mix and DJ desks, and show that not all music coming out of Africa is Afrobeats.” [via Clash]

Omaha, Nebraska’s Chyng Diamond has returned with a new single called ‘Guess What’. Following up her recent viral single ‘Lose the Ugly’, her latest is a vibrant offering that not only has a potent message but also stays authentic to her sound and roots. ‘Guess What’ opens with an ear-worm guitar line before heavy, crisp percussion, driving 808s, and electrifying synths drop in to build an addictive rhythm. Over top of the sturdy instrumentation, Diamond delivers self-assured, focused verses that discuss self-love and empowerment. She touches on subverting society’s expectations and having the courage to be oneself, an inspiring message that is bolstered by the song’s powerful production. To cap it off, she delivers a catchy, charismatic hook that demonstrates her ability to craft sharp, addictive flows, giving this single added replay value. [via Earmilk]

Megan Thee Stallion debuted a new song during the first weekend of Coachella 2022. Now, she’s graced us with an official release of the single.
The rapper Sampa The Great — who was born in Zambia, raised in Botswana, started releasing music while she lived in Australia, and recently moved back to Zambia — had her Coachella debut this month and seems destined for big things. In 2019, she released her debut studio album, The Return — which won the Australian Music Prize — and she’s gearing up for another album. Now, she’s released a new single, ‘Lane,’ which comes with a striking music video directed by Rochelle Rhembard and Imraan Christian, and incorporates a spoken-word piece called ‘Origin.’ The song itself is dreamy and determined and features an invigorating guest spot from Denzel Curry. “We’re not going to stay in one lane, we’re going to create multiple ones,” Sampa The Great said. “My truest self encourages me to explore different lanes, and go beyond what I think I know of myself.” [via Stereogum]
