Dutch symphonic metal frontrunners EPICA have finally released their brand-new studio album, Aspiral. The band invites fans to immerse themselves in the full sonic journey as it is meant to be experienced: from start to finish in one go.

In conjunction with the album release, EPICA has unveiled a sci-fi-themed music video for ‘Fight To Survive – The Overview Effect’. The track draws inspiration from the cognitive shift experienced by astronauts after observing Earth from space — a powerful moment of awe, interconnectedness, and a profound appreciation for the planet’s fragility.

Finnish melodic metal band Unén are excited to unveil their new official video, ‘Forever Winter’, out now via Frontiers Music Srl.

Oxford’s fast-rising nu-metal outfit Arimea have unveiled their brand-new single ‘Liminal’. Using their staple nu-metal approach of modulated guitars and DJ samples, the refreshingly raw quartet sonically take a dark and melancholic turn with ‘Liminal’. Exploring the lyrical context, bassist Joe Landles mentions, “I began writting lyrics written one late night while researching the occultist Alestair Crowley, eroto-comatose lucidity and the philosophies surrounding them”. LEAGUE OF DISTORTION have announced a new album. Titled Galvanize, the upcoming album from the German modern metal band is the follow-up to 2022’s self-titled album, and is scheduled to be released in October this year, via Napalm Records. Alongside the announcement of the new album, LEAGUE OF DISTORTION have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; the title track ‘Galvanize’. The new song is the second single to be released from the upcoming album, following on from ‘My Hate Will Go On’, which was released back in April. CHARLOTTE WESSELS has released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘The Crying Room,’ is taken from the former DELAIN vocalist’s upcoming new album, The Obsession, which is scheduled to be released in September this year, via Napalm Records. Speaking about the new single, Wessels says, “when we were gearing up for the very first performance under my own name after Covid, my tour manager asked if I wanted my own dressing room. Knowing full well that I’d be an anxious mess, I told her I didn’t need a private room – just somewhere I could have a well-earned meltdown without ruining everyone’s vibe. And that, my friends, is how ‘The Crying Room’ was born. It’s a song about the fear of failure, about needing to catch your breath before diving headfirst into something new. Swiss/German modern metal frontrunners, Ad Infinitum, make a stand by releasing their next staggering offering and new single ‘Surrender’. The track is taken from their upcoming album, Abyss, due for release on October 11 via Napalm Records. Approaching the 10 year anniversary of Fury’s debut album The Lightning Dream, the band have demonstrated their evolution with a new recording of a live favourite ‘Prince of Darkness’. Since 2017, the lineup of Fury has been slowly morphing into something new – now with bassist Becky Baldwin (Mercyful Fate), drummer Tom Fenn and lead guitarist Tom Atkinson (Vice) replacing previous members. But the most impactful shift to the band’s new sound is the addition of vocalist Nyah Ifill. Fury are currently working on their fifth studio album, with the release anticipated for Spring 2025. Nyah Ifill comments on her move from guest session musician to a permanent position: “As a newer band member, I’ve felt so welcomed by the fans and I’m excited to share some lead vocals! While I haven’t been a part of Fury during the Lightning dream era, I’ve admired the driving force of the songs and massively enjoy playing them live. It isn’t often that bands re-visit older material, and I hope that it’s a treat for the long-time fans! Re-recording ‘Prince of Darkness’ in the lead vocalist position has been a great experience, and I’m having a blast! It’s a send-off to our old friend the devil, and the hell-themed era of Born to Sin. The new album’s recorded, and it’s going to blow you away!”

April Art presents the fourth single ‘Not Afraid’ from upcoming album Rodeo. The official video clip for the song was shot in the band’s own rehearsal room and was once more produced by drummer Ben Juelg. The band comments: “’Not Afraid’ is intended to encourage people to face their fears. We all have fears and often let them hold us back and prevent us from coming into our own.
