Monaleo is prepping for her new project. Throwing Bows might be the most spot-on title for a Monaleo project. Her rap style and bars exhibit similar actions that you would see in a boxing ring. Ironically, the cover for the aforementioned tape displays exactly that as she’s knocked out a man cold. Even crazier, is that Monaleo and Kaliii sound like they want to throw down with some toxic men for their girlfriends on their new single ‘Flush Em’. This track comes just a week ahead of Throwing Bows, which will be her second LP of her still bubbling career. ‘Flush Em’, which features production from Bankroll Got It, is the third offering, as it comes after ‘Passenger Princess’ and ‘Don Who Leo’. It’s been a busy month for Houston rapper Monaleo. On top of dropping her full-length debut project, Where The Flowers Don’t Die, she revealed that she welcomed a newborn baby last week. Still, she is finding time to keep fans fed. In tandem with the release of Where The Flowers Don’t Die, Monaleo dropped the video for one of the project’s standout tracks, ‘Wig Splitter.’ In the video, she is seen streaming live on Instagram, in the fashion of a “get ready with me” type video. As she applies make up and switches up her looks, she stands on guard in her home, letting her opps know that while she is, in fact, with child, she hasn’t softened. Houston rapper Monaleo has announced her debut project, Where The Flowers Don’t Die, due May 26 via Stomp Down. Toronto rap mainstay DijahSB and California producer veggi have teamed up once again, this time to honour a basketball legend. The bouncy, summer-ready track combines DijahSB’s witty and seamless bars with veggi’s taste for house-inflected pop. Mulalo has returned with her third release for the year: a biting new track titled ‘Houdini’. Produced by longtime collaborator “and really good friend” Nerve, the song is driven by deep, bass-heavy synths and tribal beats. Sampa The Great has shared a music video for the Angélique Kidjo-featuring ‘Let Me Be Great’, which appeared on her recent album As Above, So Below. Directed by Pussy Krew, the clip first situates Sampa in an otherworldly desert setting, as trippy animations of golden snakes and her own pixelated flesh flash into view. The Zambian singer later opts for a costume change after linking hands with Kidjo in front of an oscillating snake visual.
