PAVÉ return with their third single of the year, ‘The Weight Of Letting Go,’ a track that pushes their sound into darker, more cinematic territory while still carrying the unmistakable stamp of their identity. Produced by Jon Cass (As Everything Unfolds, South Arcade, Lake Malice) and mastered by Pete Maher (Pixies, Liam Gallagher, Linkin Park), the single continues the band’s creative streak of defying repetition. Its artwork, once again designed by Zach Lorea (REPRESENT, Cole Buxton, Salomon), captures the eerie tension and layered storytelling at the heart of the release.

The band explain: “This track peers through the eyes of someone who’s come back to life, only to see the world with a sharper, almost unbearable clarity. It’s about that strange moment when everything feels both familiar and alien, when the streets you grew up on suddenly feel heavier, darker, less forgiving. At its core, the song wrestles with the tension between escape and accepting that nagging thought that even if you leave it all behind, the cycle repeats, the seasons turn, and the same shadows follow close behind.”

Lyrically, it marks a new chapter for PAVÉ, written not from personal confession but through the creation of a character and world that gave space to explore broader, haunting themes. The result is both an observation and a reminder: sometimes change doesn’t come from the world collapsing, it comes from what we choose to see when it doesn’t.

European (Prague, CZ) modern metal band Stellvris has dropped their latest single, ‘Silence After Violence,’ a searing anthem from their upcoming EP Shatter and Bloom, set to release on November 7. Produced by Christoph Wieczorek (Annisokay, Caskets) at Sawdust Recordings, the track delivers a visceral punch, confronting the rising aggression in society and channeling it into a cathartic, high-voltage experience.

“We see violence and frustration creeping into younger generations, and it’s terrifying. This song is a wake-up call — a cry for awareness and action,” says vocalist Nicol Hofman.

Italian modern metal act Secret Rule presents their new single ‘In The Silence’, the latest chapter leading up to the release of their upcoming album X, out October 24 via Rockshots Records.

Following the impactful ‘Just a Sacrifice’, the environmental call of ‘Echoes of the Earth’ and the emotional depth of ‘Silent Pain’, this new single turns inward, exploring the dialogue with our inner self—the quietest voice that often carries the most strength.

Blending cinematic modern metal textures with an unexpected rap section performed by bassist Sofia Basili and enriched by orchestral counterpoints, ‘In The Silence’ weaves together fragility, honesty, and resilience. Angela Di Vincenzo’s heartfelt vocals capture the tension between weakness and inner strength while Andy Menario’s production strikes a balance between heaviness and atmosphere.

Angela comments: “This song is a dialogue with your inner self—the version of you that holds your strength when you’re at your weakest. Writing it was like letting that voice finally speak.”

Sofia adds: “My part is that quiet voice inside, the one that whispers when you’re ready to hear the truth. It’s not about volume, it’s about honesty.”

Canadian chaos-makers Sumo Cyco are back to prove that “boring” is not in their vocabulary with their new single ‘Boring’, a mix of team vocals, driving riffs, and their signature mash-up of metal, punk, and pop mayhem.

Far from its tame title, ‘Boring’ is a rallying cry for anyone feeling stuck in the grind of daily life. “This song is about the challenge to keep the adventure going in the face of routine and the predictable,” says Skye. “Life can feel like a grind, but we always have the choice to be vibrant and push ourselves outside of our comfort zones.”

Following a few feverishly-received singles, Vegas-based sister duo The Pretty Wild have now announced the details behind their first full-length release, zero.point.genesis. Better yet, they’ve done so by unveiling a genre-obliterating single called ‘PARADOX’ that’s absolutely befitting of the band’s moniker.

The new tune is the band’s fourth original single of 2025, and follows viral smashes like ‘Button Eyes’. As some of their recent work, ‘PARADOX’ presents plenty of cross-pollination, with the tune finding the group’s Jyl and Jules bouncing from melodic croons, to hyper-aggro screams to highly-caffeinated, triplet-spat rap bars. Beneath all that, you’ve got an assemblage of meaty nu-grooves, Nightmare Before Christmas-sy music box melancholy and more. [via Revolver]

VINTERSEA return with another fantastic new song and video for their latest composition ‘Become The Wave.’ The Portland-based outfit, fronted by new vocalist Kayla Dixon, are currently one of the most inspiring and adventurous groups bubbling under.

“If ‘Celestial Abscission’ was our big bang out of the gate to show the world what VINTERSEA can do with our new vocalist (Kayla Dixon), ‘Become the Wave’ is a statement about where VINTERSEA is headed and what we want our music to represent,” states guitarist Riley Nix. “In some ways it is a return to form – melodic, brutal, groovy, and inspiring – but it is also different from anything you have heard from us before. Kayla brought huge energy, heartfelt performances, and some really unique tones that drove the song in a fresh direction from the outset.”

“I am super excited for people to scope out the video for ‘Become the Wave.’ We built a unique set in my garage, explored epic locations at the Oregon Coast, and tried a few things we have never done before,” explains Karl. “This is classic VINTERSEA, but with some new moves. Kayla crushed the vocal performance, and used techniques I’ve never heard before. We’ve played this song live on our last couple of tours, and it kills every show. I can’t wait for you all to hear what we can do.”

Arch Enemy is doing the whole “release a bunch of new songs as part of a deluxe version of their latest album” thing with the digital deluxe edition of Blood Dynasty. The new version of the record features ‘Break the Spell’, ‘Moths’, and ‘Lachrymatory’; the first of which you can stream right now. It’s certainly a song by Arch Enemy in 2025.

“‘Break The Spell’ is a raw, introspective journey through despair and resilience,” said Arch Enemy of the track. “It confronts mortality, fear, and emotional collapse — yet refuses to surrender. Haunting and defiant, it transforms pain into empowerment, offering strength to anyone fighting through dark times.” [via Metal Injection]

AS EVERYTHING UNFOLDS have released a brand new music video. The new single, titled ‘POINT OF VIEW,’ is the second track to be released following the UK post-hardcore band’s recent signing to Century Media Records. It follows on from ‘SET IN FLOW,’ which was released back in June.

Speaking about the new single, vocalist Charlie Rolfe shares, “you give everything you have, your whole being, your whole life, to help someone but it’s never enough if they don’t want to help themselves. I really struggled to understand how someone close to me couldn’t see my point of view in the awful situation we were in. They were angry when I helped, they were angry when I gave them space, they were angry when I stayed, they were angry when I left.”

She continues, “it destroyed my confidence and my self worth having to live in an environment where nothing I ever did was good enough. It hurts deeply to watch what can only be described as a car crash in slow motion, being unable to stop it but just having the strength to walk away and value your own mental health, your own sanity helped me gain back a small amount of those parts of me I lost. I really hope that some day, that person can listen to this song, and truly understand what it was like to be in that situation from my point of view.”

Italian metallers Eternal Idol share their new single, ’The Enemy Is Me’, taken from the upcoming studio album Behind A Vision, scheduled for release on July 11 via Frontiers Music Srl.

Guitarist Nick Savio commented on the new single: “This song represents our melodic modern rock side, where electronic elements and bombastic rhythm sessions make the perfect wall of sounds for the vocals duo. This song is our perfect radio hit, with fine vocal melodies and a touch of 80’s sound”.

Spanish rock band Strangers are pleased to announce the release of their fourth studio album, entitled Boundless, out on August 22 via Frontiers Music Srl.

After the previous single ‘Into The Night’, the band share the new single, ‘Enemy’, along with an official video.

Talking about the new single, the band said: “It’s loud and raw, a powerful anthem about letting go of the past and owning the now. Hit play and let the music take over!”

Fresh off the return of their debut support tour with the Himalayas and release of their breakout single ‘Whatever The Cost,’ PAVÉ are back with their most daring and sonically ambitious track yet: ‘Into the Ether.’ Produced by Jon Cass (As Everything Unfolds, South Arcade, Lake Malice) and mastered by Pete Maher (Pixies, Liam Gallagher, Linkin Park), the single blends the band’s signature intensity with a surprising twist of high-tempo drum and bass elements that mark a bold first for the group.

The band explain “‘Into the Ether’ is about the tension that builds when someone says they’re all in, but their actions don’t match it. It reflects that moment when you’ve supported someone, believed in them, and waited for them to step up, but they never really show up, mentally or emotionally. The track is our way of confronting that disconnect. It’s not about blame, it’s about acknowledging that you can’t force someone to be who they said they wanted to be. At some point, you have to stop carrying that weight for them. Musically, it mirrors that frustration and release, pushing into new territory for us with drum and bass elements and a darker, more cinematic energy.”

CASTLE RAT have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘WIZARD,’ is taken from the New York City-based doom metal band’s upcoming new album, The Bestiary, which is scheduled to be released in September this year, via King Volume Records (in North America) and Blues Funeral Recordings (in the UK and Europe).

Speaking about the new single, bassist Charley Ruddell (Plague Doctor) says, “musically, ‘WIZARD’ was a big step in a new direction for us as a band. We found ourselves collaborating more closely with each other and piecing together ideas more intricately than on previous songs. We channeled the new wave of British heavy metal; the galloping drum break and harmonized guitar leads were largely inspired by IRON MAIDEN and JUDAS PRIEST. Franco’s solo at the end – which was recorded in one take – was inspired by Electric Eye.”

Gore. have just unleashed a brand-new single. New song/video ‘Sepsis’ follows last year’s A Bud That Never Blooms EP, and as vocalist Haley Roughton explains, it’s “about a friend who was in a relationship with someone diagnosed with bipolar disorder (BPD) that went untreated.

“I attempted to write it from his perspective, after seeing him try to salvage a relationship where he was constantly challenged and abused. I could only imagine how difficult it is knowing that the person you love is ill and staying by their side, even when the relationship feels like torment.”

Of the accompanying music video, Haley reveals that it “reflects that isolation and what it’s like to be trapped inside your own head and thoughts. Hence why it’s just me and a double the whole time.” [via Kerrang!]

Undoubtedly New Zealand’s hottest rock ticket at the moment, Devilskin present their second single and first video from the forthcoming album RE-EVOLUTION. Fresh from taking out the coveted People’s Choice Award in the recent Aotearoa Music Awards, climbing all over rock radio with the bold, upbeat single Half-Life of Dreams, AND currently immersed in a 12-date NZ tour, Devilskin release the incendiary track ‘Swelter,’ which sees vocalist Jennie Skulander towering over one of the sickest riffs you’ll ever hear.
Former Butcher Babies singer Carla Harvey has unveiled the single/video ‘Hell or Hollywood’ as the latest offering from her new project The Violent Hour. The single features a guest guitar solo from Zakk Wylde.

The new song, which follows previous single ‘Sick Ones’ featuring John 5, has a distinctive ’80s hard rock vibe, and is accompanied by a music video filmed at the famed Rainbow Bar & Grill in Hollywood, California. In the clip, actors portray Lemmy Kilmister, Janis Joplin, and Kurt Cobain.

“Shooting the ‘Hell or Hollywood’ video at the Rainbow was a full-circle moment for me,” stated Harvey. “As a kid growing up in the Midwest, I saw the Rainbow in rock mags and iconic Guns N’ Roses videos…it exuded that gritty, dangerous, rock ’n’ roll lifestyle I craved. When I moved to LA, I practically lived there. I made my first friends at the Rainbow, found my first bandmates there, and got into plenty of trouble. The Rainbow is more than a backdrop; it’s a living, breathing piece of rock history.”

She added, “This video tells the story of chasing a dream to LA (both the pleasures and the pitfalls) and toys with the question: do you have to sell your soul for rock ’n’ roll? Is this Hell or Hollywood? The answer reveals itself at the end of the video. It was important for me to have Lemmy (played by Luke Edwards of Killed by Death) in the video as one of my “tempters” because of his iconic presence at the Rainbow. You’ll spot a Janis Joplin too (actress Shannon Corbett) and I had to throw in a little tongue in cheek humor as well with a Kurt Cobain lookalike (Gabe Maska) because let’s be real, if Kurt showed up at the Rainbow, you’d definitely be in hell.” [via Consequence]

Swiss heavy metal powerhouse Burning Witches is back with a new record Inquisition, due out August 22 via Napalm Records. Burning Witches is now streaming the title track in all its heavy metal glory, which you can check out below.

LIV SIN have announced a new album. Titled Close Your Eyes, the upcoming album from the Swedish heavy metal band is the follow-up to 2023’s KaliYuga, and is scheduled to be released in August this year, via their new home at Seek & Strike.

Alongside the announcement of the new album, LIV SIN have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming album; the title track ‘Close Your Eyes.’ The new song features a guest appearance from Lars Palmqvist of SCAR SYMMETRY.

Speaking about the new song, and its accompanying music video, the band shares, “we chose the album’s title track, ‘Close Your Eyes,’ as the first single/video for mainly two reasons. We got the amazing vocalist, Lars Palmqvist from SCAR SYMMETRY, to join us, and the song has a straight up melodic chorus that everyone was instantly hooked on.

“The song also has a darker edge to it, since it covers the topic of human trafficking. Liv got the idea for the lyrics after watching a documentary about people being tricked into trafficking across eastern Europe.

“In the video, we tried to recreate the feeling of being all alone in a dark room with different strangers coming and going. Liv sings and screams out her inner frustrations reflecting on the world today with a deep longing for a better world.” [via Distorted Sound]

Sludge-heavy “fairy-doom” trio Faetooth are looking to lure us back into their mystifying, metallic maze. Fittingly enough, the group have just confirmed a sophomore LP titled Labyrinthine is on the way, and they’re previewing it ahead of time with a slow-stomping crusher called ‘White Noise.’

The track, a seismically rumbled six-minute epic, is the band’s second new tune of 2025, following their ‘Death of Day’ — and both songs will feature on Labyrinthine.

It’s explained in a press release that the sometimes low-sung, sometimes shrieked lyricism on ‘White Noise’ was pulled “from a diary entry, and is a relentless and intense reflection on inner turmoil.” Guitarist Ari May added that “performing the song always takes [her] back to a specific place, even if just for a moment.” [via Revolver]

BLACKBRIAR have released a new song called ‘Harpy’. Speaking about the new song, vocalist Zora Cock comments, “in this song, I call upon a Harpy to please carry me away after I’ve died a thousand little deaths. I lure it with my carrion heart, after all, Harpies are known as human vultures. If not, I fear I might be stuck in the same place, slowly left eroding. I need to die one last time to be laid to rest finally. This song, Harpy, inspired the album title.”
