Belfast-born, North West-based artist Tender Claws continues to carve out her own distinctive corner of the alternative music landscape with ‘Twinge,’ a fuzz-soaked, emotionally charged anthem that transforms heartbreak into something exhilarating. Exploring the lingering sting of a relationship ending before it ever had the chance to fully begin, the track balances catharsis and freedom with striking confidence. As Tess Corr explains, “I wanted to write an upbeat, in-your-face song to, ironically, have some fun while processing the feelings stemming from a relationship that I had really hoped would develop into something more.”

From the opening moments, it’s impossible to ignore the track’s gloriously fuzzy bassline, which drives ‘Twinge’ forward with irresistible momentum. While grunge textures sit firmly at the song’s core, there are unmistakable post-punk and gothic influences woven throughout, from the atmospheric synth flourishes to Corr’s commanding vocal delivery, which evokes the spirit of Siouxsie Sioux without ever feeling derivative. Relentless drums and walls of guitar only heighten the song’s sense of urgency, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly immediate.

Despite its themes of rejection and emotional aftermath, ‘Twinge’ never wallows in heartbreak. Instead, it embraces the liberation that can come from letting go, transforming pain into movement and defiance. Soundtracking visions of blurred city lights and late-night drives, Tender Claws has crafted a track that feels as cinematic as it is cathartic, proving that sometimes the best way to process heartbreak is simply to turn the volume up and keep moving.

Stockholm/Berlin — Swedish post-punk newcomers Gone Future release their debut single ‘The Middle’ via Duchess Box Records (Berlin).

‘The Middle’ is a song about being caught between two life chapters. “The first was my late teens and early twenties — the bottles, hearts, and diamonds,” says the band’s lyricist. “I left music when I was 22, after a six-year career. I felt lost and didn’t know if, or when, I would ever return to the scene. The second chapter is about finally disarming, getting back up, and moving on from what has been.”

The track was the first song the band wrote together during early studio sessions — an organic jam that helped shape their emerging sound. A notable detail: the Solina keyboard featured on the track is the same instrument used on Mando Diao’s iconic hit ‘Dance With Somebody.’

A few months later, ‘The Middle’ was finalized with the finishing touches of mixing engineer Matt Wignall, and when the band heard the first mixed bounce, they instantly knew it had to be their debut single.
