Equal parts seduction and satire, ‘Chick Flick’ is the sound of queer joy in full technicolour; with the “bi-con”’s ambisexual vocal performance pushing pop’s boundaries. Soaked in androgyny, lashed with wit and then baked in late-night lust, the single cements ZELA’s place as one of pop’s most fearless voices. Blending the nostalgic grime of early 2000s bloghaus with hyper-modern pop polish and packed with cinematic references & innuendo-laced lyrics, ‘Chick Flick’ is as infectious as it is salacious.

Zela had this to say about ‘Chick Flick’: “I really experimented with the polar extremes of my bisexuality for this song. I love embracing my masc energy & leaning into that f*ckboy persona, but then getting real femme for other parts of the song too. When I wrote the line “do you like sushi? It’s my second favourite thing to eat” – that set the tone for the track and I knew it was going to be fun.”
