Harajuku-core trailblazers HANABIE. have released their new single ‘Tasty Survivor’. This song is their first anime tie-in song which is the opening theme song to anime Momentary Lily that started this January.

When asked about the inspiration behind the song, vocalist Yukina shared: “This is our very first tie-in with an anime, and we wrote this track specifically for it! The song reflects the world and characters of Momentary Lily while also capturing the essence of our band life. From the intense “eat or be eaten” vibe of live band battles to the exhilarating build-up toward the chorus, it mirrors the way we warm up for a live show and the anticipation of listeners heading to the venue. British folk-horror metallers Forlorn have announced that their debut album will land on March 28 via Church Road.

It finds the London-based quintet paying respects to the elements of nature, mixing metallic sounds with a vibe straight from Midsommar.

Fittingly, they’ve revealed that the new track they’ve released to mark the announcement, ‘Funeral Pyre’, deals with fire, and was inspired in part by classic Christopher Lee movie The Wicker Man.

“’Funeral Pyre’ explores the element of fire and in this sense as a powerful divination tool. We took inspiration from the 1973 film The Wickerman and the concept of human sacrifice, in order for things to grow. French metal band NOVELISTS boldly stand their ground as one of the metal scene’s most vibrant and diverse bands with their new single ‘All For Nothing,’ which coincides with the announcement of their upcoming album CODA. When asked about the single, Novelists say, “‘All For Nothing’ is the second single from our upcoming album CODA. Oxford’s fast-rising nu-metal outfit, Arimea, have shared their latest new single ‘Leash’ – another piece of their forthcoming EP, Orchid Street (due for release on November 28). ‘Leash’ is an angry whirlwind of emotions, a delicate tightrope of conversation that could easily explode at any moment. January 24 will see Swedish doom and hard rock maestros Avatarium release their much-awaited new studio offering Between You, God, the Devil and The Dead through AFM Records. After the doom rock collective already presented two first singles, ‘Long Black Waves’ and their haunting album title track, Avatarium are premiering a video clip for the hard-hitting, anthemic single ‘I See You Better In The Dark’. “This is one of my favorite songs on the album, a classic Dio/Sabbath uptempo rocker with some 60’s pop flavour.” Guitarist Marcus Jidell comments. “Sometimes we need a little poison to stay awake, or a spoonful of darkness to see the light”.

SICKSENSE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Masquerade Parade’, is taken from the Phoenix-based nu-metal/groove metal band’s upcoming debut album, Cross Me Twice, which is scheduled to be released in February next year, via Arising Empire. Speaking about the new song, and its accompanying music video, vocalist Rob The Ripper says, “’Masquerade Parade’ critically takes aim at modern western health practices, the pharmaceutical industry and politicians. It’s also a warning to be careful of trusting the wrong people. In many cases, the people who claim to have your best interests, absolutely do not. Don’t be fooled by them. Film making wise, we wanted to tell a story that keeps moving forward from one scene into the other with intelligent transitions that utilized practical effects, acting and camera angles/movement. Much like watching an actual parade. The music video story features the characters of Vicky, Deli The Bear and myself as these kind of supernatural entities. Vicky’s character unleashes a villainous persona out of me by tinkering with an hourglass, then the real fun begins. I then go on to terrorize my other band mates throughout the video, while Vicky gradually brings each one of them out of the darkness by handing them their instruments. Being stronger together, they are able to defeat their common enemy…but the question is, was this enemy really the ‘bad guy’ to begin with, or did someone else create the problem in the first place, and conveniently set themselves up to appear to be the ‘hero’? We love incorporating multiple meanings into our lyrics and our storytelling. ‘Masquerade Parade’ takes you on a ride with twists and turns that catch you off guard and we hope it pleasantly surprises many people who check it out.” Vocalist Killer V adds, “my favorite part in the concept of the video is how our bandmates snap out of the condition they’re in when they are given their instruments.
