ROE says on the single: “This song is about falling into a routine and trying to claw your way back out. There were a few months at the start of last year where no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get out of the daze I was in. I didn’t want much of anything and every day bled into the next.

“I watched a lot of movies during that time and Groundhog Day eventually made the cut. A weird and oddly specific connection was formed and shortly after ‘The Moment’s Gone’ was written.”

Here is what she had to say about ‘Swimming Pool’: “The world is grim right now. Maybe it always has been and it’s only now that I’m old enough to see it. But I can’t watch the news without it eating me alive anymore and when I don’t watch it then that’s ignorance.

“I wrote ‘Swimming Pool’ from a place of frustration and anger at the scary and horrible things I can’t control and the feeling that nothing I do will ever be the right call or be enough to make a difference.

“This song is an exaggeration of the dread that keeps growing as I get older and the sense of hopelessness that I just can’t shake. Cheery, right?”

About ‘Caravan’, ROE says: “’Caravan’ is a song about friendship. Generally when you’re young you think everything lasts forever – but eventually relationships change, friends move away and suddenly the people you spent every hour and every minute of the day with once aren’t in your life anymore. Some days I feel that twist in my gut from the guilt of not trying hard enough. Some days I just wonder if they ever think about where I am and what I’m up to or if it’s just me. This song is an ode to old friends and lost thoughts.”
