In November, runo will embark on a UK/EU tour that includes appearances at Pitchfork London and Paris, and now she is announcing a run of US dates for 2026, and sharing the new single ‘Pond.’

runo says of the track: “This song came from feeling really stuck in a slump, feeling the height of the absence, the pain, and the loneliness. Wondering how there will ever be a time where it didn’t feel like this, and fighting with the internal voice that was telling me my best option was to not be on earth. Sonically this song is pretty mellow, but the fuzz guitar that comes in at the instrumental is a great representation of the internal horror that was happening inside of me.”

Now, runo is sharing another preview of her new album, a track called ‘Halfway Up The Lawn,’ with a video shot by David Milan Kelly. 

‘Halfway Up The Lawn’ recounts the messy and deeply human desperation phase of a breakup, unraveling all of the yearning and mental hang-ups over persistent, near-hypnotic instrumentation. “I don’t wanna watch you turn green, but I will” she sings, toying with acceptance, but not entirely giving up the fight.

“This song is about when you get broken up with and you aren’t on speaking terms with that person anymore,” says runo.  “It makes you feel so insane, you want to scream, you’re checking socials, waiting for a text, desperately waiting for literally any sign of life. I imagine myself pathetically sitting outside of their house waiting for them to get home, but–nothing. The line “I don’t wanna watch you turn green, but I will” is ultimately about accepting that they have moved on. We ended up using my demo guitar solo for this one, which is so funny because it’s sort of a mess but it ended up fitting perfectly with the chaos in the theme.”

Now, runo plum is announcing her signing to Winspear (Wishy, Slow Pulp, Teethe), and sharing her first single for the label, a track called ‘Lemon Garland.’ To coincide with the release runo is announcing a full UK/EU tour.

Recorded in a cabin in rural Vermont with Lutalo, the Minnesota-born, Vermont-based musician and producer fresh off the release of their acclaimed debut The Academy, ‘Lemon Garland’ introduces runo plum through a lush, strummy daze. On the track runo works up an antidote to her malaise, conjuring a daydream of community and companionship filled out with finely layered vocals and the spacious resonance of a 12-string guitar.

Of the track runo says: “This song is me dreaming and longing for friendship. I imagine living in a giant old house in the middle of the woods, hosting my friends and feeling pure bliss. I’ve had little glimpses of this over the past few years but I currently live pretty isolated from the world. There’s a beautiful 12 string on this that adds such fullness to the song, which feels really representative of the community/friendship theme.”
