Melodic hard rockers The Big Deal are pleased to share their new video ‘Survivor’, out now via Frontiers Music Srl. Guitarist Srdjan Brankovic expresses his enthusiasm for the release: “Together with Frontiers Records, we are very much looking forward to presenting to you our new single, the song ‘Survivor’. We are very happy that during the process we collaborated with Anders Wikström (Treat), who composed the song and wrote the lyrics!”

Formed in 2008 by experienced musicians from Rio de Janeiro/Brazil, Revengin presents the track ‘Decadent Feeling’, the second single from the album Dark Dogma Embrace, scheduled to be released in early 2025. Following the overwhelming reception of ‘Circle of Mistakes’, Revengin’s new single delivers a powerful yet graceful narrative of an intense love that gradually becomes platonic after a series of heartbreaking disappointments. With a striking melody and an intense chorus, the song portrays an internal battle of feelings where reason and emotion lead to the certainty of anguish. Providing a unique cinematic experience, the music video for ‘Decadent Feeling’ was filmed in the band’s hometown Rio de Janeiro.

Oxford’s fast-rising nu-metal outfit, Arimea, have shared their latest new single ‘Leash’ – another piece of their forthcoming EP, Orchid Street (due for release on November 28). ‘Leash’ is an angry whirlwind of emotions, a delicate tightrope of conversation that could easily explode at any moment. The single sees Arimea delve head first into the heavier grunge side of the band with vocalist, Whitney Cooper, pushing herself to the extremes with her harsh vocals. “’Leash’ is a song written about Misogyny intertwined with the idea of playing out your intrusive thoughts,” states vocalist Whitney Cooper. “You know, those thoughts that make you shiver and question who you are, thoughts so unlike your reality that you have to shake the thought of them off after having them.”

THE DEFECT returns with a fierce dichotic new single ‘LOST IN THE SHADOWS’ eclipsing both the darkness and the light with opposing vocal performances from singers Moon and Jonny McBee. ‘Lost In The Shadows’ builds on THE DEFECT’s signature sound cut with gritty guitars and a haunting atmosphere that is amplified by the powerful blend of these sultry tones from start to finish. Synthesizers complement the track’s hypnotic chorus and bring a modern edge to its nu-metal, industrial, and metalcore foundation. The result is a captivating futuristic soundscape that is both heavy and melodic, blending intensity with emotional depth with the signature raw intensity from both vocalists. This unique fusion of metalcore breakdowns, industrial synths, and nu-metal grooves showcases THE DEFECT’s innovative approach to rock music.

January 24 will see Swedish doom and hard rock maestros Avatarium release their much-awaited new studio offering Between You, God, the Devil and The Dead through AFM Records. After the doom rock collective already presented two first singles, ‘Long Black Waves’ and their haunting album title track, Avatarium are premiering a video clip for the hard-hitting, anthemic single ‘I See You Better In The Dark’. “This is one of my favorite songs on the album, a classic Dio/Sabbath uptempo rocker with some 60’s pop flavour.” Guitarist Marcus Jidell comments. “Sometimes we need a little poison to stay awake, or a spoonful of darkness to see the light”.

ARCTIS have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Tell Me Why’, is taken from the Finnish symphonic pop-metal band’s upcoming debut self-titled album, which is scheduled to be released in November this year, via Napalm Records. Speaking about the new song, the band shares, “we’re almost there. ‘Tell Me Why’ is the last echo before the ice shatters and the full force of ARCTIS is unleashed. Step into the cold, feel the frost creeping closer and let the shadows guide you. The album looms on the horizon… are you ready?” [via Distorted Sound]

SICKSENSE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Masquerade Parade’, is taken from the Phoenix-based nu-metal/groove metal band’s upcoming debut album, Cross Me Twice, which is scheduled to be released in February next year, via Arising Empire. Speaking about the new song, and its accompanying music video, vocalist Rob The Ripper says, “’Masquerade Parade’ critically takes aim at modern western health practices, the pharmaceutical industry and politicians. It’s also a warning to be careful of trusting the wrong people. In many cases, the people who claim to have your best interests, absolutely do not. Don’t be fooled by them. Film making wise, we wanted to tell a story that keeps moving forward from one scene into the other with intelligent transitions that utilized practical effects, acting and camera angles/movement. Much like watching an actual parade. The music video story features the characters of Vicky, Deli The Bear and myself as these kind of supernatural entities. Vicky’s character unleashes a villainous persona out of me by tinkering with an hourglass, then the real fun begins. I then go on to terrorize my other band mates throughout the video, while Vicky gradually brings each one of them out of the darkness by handing them their instruments. Being stronger together, they are able to defeat their common enemy…but the question is, was this enemy really the ‘bad guy’ to begin with, or did someone else create the problem in the first place, and conveniently set themselves up to appear to be the ‘hero’? We love incorporating multiple meanings into our lyrics and our storytelling. ‘Masquerade Parade’ takes you on a ride with twists and turns that catch you off guard and we hope it pleasantly surprises many people who check it out.” Vocalist Killer V adds, “my favorite part in the concept of the video is how our bandmates snap out of the condition they’re in when they are given their instruments. This entire video was put together through multiple brainstorming sessions and we were a little stuck on what the ‘revival’ action would be. I remember initially suggesting giving them their instruments as a joke, but the more we thought about it, the more it just made sense. Music heals and brings us together. It’s an escape for both musicians and fans of music, so in a way the perfect imagery for our message. One thing we always aim to do with SICKSENSE is incorporate a positive message through even our darkest songs. Also, the first two choruses are one continuous shot, so from a filming aspect that was really interesting and challenging for us to nail. It’s easy when you know you can piece together bits of different footage and make something cool out of it, but having to get everything right in one shot is a whole other experience. This is by far my favorite song and video that we’ve done to this day.” [via Distorted Sound]

The wickedly talented Kelowna-based teenage three-piece, Freeze The Fall – 17-year-old Quinn Mitzel (vox/guitar), 16-year-old Jonah Goncalves (drums), and 16-year-old Aria Becker (bass/vox) – release their hard-hitting new single ‘VHS’ via their newly inked label 604 Records. A captivating tribute to the realm of horror cinema, ‘VHS’ showcases mesmerizing melodies, commanding riffs and driving rhythms, interwoven with haunting lyrics and chilling choruses. “‘VHS’ is an ode to our collective love of horror movies,” shares the band. “The song explores the relentless evil that power can inspire. Ultimately we wrote this song for the music lovers who also love the genre of horror.” Alongside the single drop, Freeze The Fall have released the visually striking music video directed by Evan Riley Brown. The video for ‘VHS’, which premiered last weekend at the Vancouver Horror Show Film Festival, was filmed over two days in Lake Country and Kamloops, BC. Featuring a gripping narrative that parallels the song’s themes, the video for ‘VHS’ was a dream come true for the band as they have always wanted to make a video that pays homage to their love of horror.
Brit newcomers ROGUE AWAKENING have thrown down the gauntlet with their ultra-enticing new single and video, ‘Bloodflow’, out now. The band remark about the track: “’Bloodflow’ is an observation on individuals who tend to ‘people please’ at the detriment of their own happiness and boundaries. The new single comes as a special release in collaboration with Traumatica – one of the world’s largest and most intense horror festivals.
New Jersey’s symphonic metal band Everdawn unveil their new single and the accompanying music video ‘Another Lifetime’, out now via Frontiers Music Srl. The band commented about the track: “Many of us feel the constant fear that we are straying from our path, or that the journey set before us is not the one we’re meant for. We may feel afraid we are not strong enough to face the battles ahead or we feel anxious that we are veering away from the life we want. This song is about fighting inner demons, challenging our insecurities or preconceived notions and rising above. Trust nothing but yourself to achieve what you want in life, following your own footsteps. Realize: you are exactly where you are meant to be and who you are meant to become.”

Gore. have released their new single ‘Angels Like You’ with accompanying music video. “‘Angels Like You’ is one of two songs on the EP written about a particular individual, as opposed to a relational dynamic,” says vocalist Haley Roughton. “This song is about somebody who appeared righteous and just but ended up being quite cruel. In a bigger scope, this song depicts those who are self-aggrandized and signal their virtue. These people profess their greatness to others as a mask, so that we do not see how much they truly loathe themselves. Recording this song was a cathartic process and helped me let go of that person, and the hurt they left behind.”

Rockshots Records and Lay Of The Autumn is excited to announce the release of their third single, ‘After All This Time? Always’ from their highly anticipated album Of Love And Sorrow due out on October 25. ‘After All This Time? Always’ inspired by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows PT2, with a title symbolizing the sacrifice of eternal love. This song is an incredible lovely and fully orchestrated ballad where the voice of Iryna ERIA Boyarkina is majestic and unbelievable. Like the other two singles, this one completely stands for its beauty in a way that is uniquely Lay Of The Autumn.

LEAGUE OF DISTORTION have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Chainsaw’, is taken from the German modern metal band’s upcoming new album, Galvanize, which is scheduled to be released in October this year, via Napalm Records. Speaking about the new single, the band says, “our new single ‘Chainsaw’ cuts deep with its unapologetic commentary on the brutality of life, injustice, and karma. It channels our rage and frustration of living in a world where greed and hypocrisy reign. The song serves as both a warning and a catharsis – reminding us that vengeance and consequence are inevitable. This track is a sonic explosion of rebellion, a visceral call for justice in a broken system.” [via Distorted Sound]

It emphasises trusting your instincts but forgiving yourself for the times you couldn’t. This is the first song we’ve released with predominantly clean vocals and is in a direction we’ve not experimented with before.” [via Distorted Sound]

Enemy Inside is back with a vengeance, releasing their new single and video, ‘Should Have Known Better’. The modern metal outfit delivers a track that blends fierceness and finesse, unafraid to challenge and redefine the genre. The lyrics drive this message home with a steadfast resolve, showcasing the band’s knack for blending introspective storytelling with raw emotion and heavy-hitting energy, digging deep into themes of betrayal and resilience. “It’s a reminder that you cannot look into someone’s head and should watch out for those uninterested in your success and well-being,” the band explains. “It’s for all the fake friends talking behind your back or only sticking around in your best moments but not at your worst. You tried to play the wrong person – you should have known better.” The accompanying music video mirrors the song’s fierce narrative. Frontwoman Nastassja Giulia takes on the role of a high-society icon, confidently dominating a high-stakes gambling table. The video, crafted by Nastassja alongside creative collaborator and guitarist Evan K, and mixed and mastered by Christoph Wieczorek, seamlessly intertwines sophistication and defiance. It captures the essence of the song’s message — standing strong in the face of betrayal, reclaiming power, and serving a taste of karma to those who have underestimated you. ]via Brave Words]

Sydney’s 51st Avenue are back and sounding heavier than ever, with their huge new track ‘Moments’ – a track that delves into new territory thematically and sonically, and is the first to feature new bandmate Anthony Carollo on bass duties. Starting things off with a moody synth and drum machine section, vocalist Alynnis Zizza’s vocals build tension perfectly in the verse before the track erupts in the first chorus; with huge modern-metalcore riffage pushing the song to the next level. During the writing process for ‘Moments’, Zizza took more of a lighthearted approach and decided to have fun with the track lyrically – describing a one night stand, a topic that strays from the bands often more introspective lyricism. “I’ve been waiting for a track that makes me feel like dancing so when I heard the instrumental of ‘Moments’, I couldn’t help but move. It’s really different to our other tracks so I figured why not lean into that and write about something we haven’t before. It’s also not a very long track at all so naming it ‘Moments’ and writing about a one night stand felt very appropriate and heaps of fun! I’ve also been in my mum era so a step out of that was refreshing,” says Alynnis Zizza.

Finnish melodic metal band Unén proudly unveil their first official single and video, ‘My Love’s Broken’. “After countless disappointments in relationships, one becomes numb and cold… There is nothing left to give to another person, and yet the endless search for the perfect person continues. It’s always easier to leave everything behind and start anew”, says singer Stina Girs about the song. The band describes the concept behind the video: “The main character starts sculpting a vision of perfection, only to shatter it, symbolizing the disappointments in love and relationships. Piece by piece, she starts tearing it apart. At this stage, the mood of the performance shots also changes, and crumbling clay begins to fall on the band members”. “Around the visual storytelling, we see super slow motion shots of the band and Stina’s vocal parts, which are filmed both in slow motion and at normal speed. The music video is filmed at the historic Lapinlahti Hospital in Finland, one of the oldest psychiatric hospitals in Europe” they continue.

Talented Brazilian Rock band Malvada unveil their new single and video, ‘Down The Walls’, out now via Frontiers Music Srl. Talking about the single, singer Indira Castilho says “’Down the walls’ is a song that describes a relationship based on lies and psychological control. It tells about a situation that many women go through but that is never discussed. The music aims to show the reality, alert women and bring courage to face this situation”. “The riffs are very heavy, rhythmic and connected to the drums”, adds guitarist Bruna Tsuruda. Drummer Juliana Salgado describes it as “a strong music, with strong guitar riffs and drum beats”, while bassist Rafaela Reoli states “I think it’s the perfect song to introduce Malvada to the world”.

Arch Enemy have unveiled their first new music since their acclaimed 2022 album, Deceivers, by surprise releasing the new single and video ‘Dream Stealer.’ The veteran extreme metal band’s guitarist Michael Amott stated, “First new Arch Enemy song we release in a little while and it feels good to be back! It was a blast working on ‘Dream Stealer’ in the studio, this song just has the high energy and twisted atmosphere that makes it so fun to play! Crank it up, loud and heavy! Metal is immortal!” After a haunting instrumental intro, singer Alissa White-Gluz kicks off the vocals with a monster scream, and goes full guttural for the rest of the powerful track.
FUTURE PALACE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Decarabia,’ is taken from the German post-hardcore band’s upcoming new album, Distortion, which is scheduled to be released in September this year, via Arising Empire. The band have dedicated the new single to the relationships of people who are suffering from mental illnesses. The picture the band paints of this difficult circumstance is engagingly complex and asks fundamental questions: How much can we help the loved ones around us when we ourselves are already dealing with so many of our own demons? How can we not be alone in our struggles when at the same time we see how it becomes too much for our counterpart? “It’s not just bad if you yourself lose joy in life. It hurts all the more when you find out that a loved person has to deal with it,” vocalist Maria Lessing explains, reporting on experiences that come from her own life. “It’s a struggle to try to support someone when you need all your strength to be able to function. But in the end you can resolve even such serious problems with work and growth and become happy together. In any case, I hope so.” [via Distorted Sound]

Just over a month out from Jinjer’s next U.S. tour, the Ukrainian prog-metal crushers have dropped a surprise single that may well pop into their upcoming setlists. The song, titled ‘Someone’s Daughter,’ arrives as a percussively punishing, and spirit-empowering battle anthem. The studio track finds the act once again needling into precision drum battery, bassist Eugene Kostyuk’s slippery fretwork, and vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk’s cascade of immaculate melodies and rumbling death-growls. The music video, which you can see below, mixes performance footage with CGI landscapes. With its lyrics themed around cutting a signature path in the world as a woman, Shmayluk also gets into character while seemingly dressing up as iconic figures like chemist Marie Curie or Egyptian ruler Cleopatra. “´Someone’s Daughter´ is an artistic attempt to cast the light on the inner world of women, who in various scenarios and circumstances, have had to choose a path that was historically made by men,” the singer said in a statement. “In a world where women are often underestimated and overlooked, they are still powerful heroes who navigate hardship with strength and resilience, unapologetically becoming themselves and breaking barriers in the face of the challenges that face them. ‘Someone’s Daughter’ celebrates transitions from naivety into wisdom, weakness into force, unwavering determination, and fearlessness as our mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives walk through adversity and fight for better change. These women are often forgotten but they have earned respect. They‘ve earned mine, that’s for sure!” [via Revolver]

Criminal activity and psychology has been at the forefront of SKYND’s music from the start, observing the bleakest and most horrific aspects of the human condition through musical and lyrical examinations of true crimes and their impact on the victims and society. Marking the duo’s second single of 2024, ‘Violets are Blue’ looks at the 2012 murder of Jun Lin by Luka Magnotta, with Skynd and Father saying that the case points out the severity of mental health issues and the importance of recognizing and addressing them before they lead to violence, as well as the ethical responsibilities of the media and the criminal justice system. Jun Lin was an international student at Concordia University in Montreal, studying computer engineering; he was stabbed and dismembered by Luka Rocco Magnotta, who mailed parts of Lin’s body to schools and political party offices, as well as posted videos online depicting the murder – this has led to him being referred to as an “Internet Killer.” Magnotta was arrested in Berlin less than a month later, and was sentenced two years later to life and an additional 19 years for other charges such as sexual assault, animal abuse, and public obscenity – during his trial, issues of his mental stability were raised, including diagnoses of schizophrenia and several personality disorders. As Lin was a gay man, SKYND has also pointed out the purpose of ‘Violets are Blue’ to discuss the impact such crimes have on the LGBTQ+ community. “This case brought attention to issues of violence within the community and the unique vulnerabilities faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and it therefore felt very important for me to explore,” Skynd says, pointing out the importance of standing up for diversity in the band’s music. The accompanying music video was directed by regular SKYND collaborator P.R. Brown, produced by Anique Wild, and stars David Bruckner. [via ReGen Mag]

Italian metal masters Lacuna Coil have unveiled a new single titled ‘Hosting the Shadow’ featuring guest vocals from Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe. The song marks another new stand-alone single from Lacuna Coil, who earlier this year unveiled the track ‘In the Mean Time’ featuring New Years Day singer Ash Costello. While Lacuna Coil are already known for their dual vocal attack from Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro, Blythe takes the band’s sound to a new extreme. After an extended instrumental intro, the Lamb of God singer’s voice is heard first on the song, as he delivers his signature growl in the verses, where he is eventually joined by Ferro. Scabbia’s clean singing then arrives in the melodic chorus. “‘Hosting the Shadow’ is a trip through light and dark, where silence reveals its hidden secrets,” stated Lacuna Coil. “Obscure moments can become occasions to evolve, to learn to master one’s own shadow — which is crucial in order to prevail. Randy Blythe did an incredible job on this track, we absolutely adore his voice and his evil laugh!” The band continued, “Our admiration for him is infinite and to have him as a guest on this song is a dream come true. Partnering with a friend you respect immensely, that also kicks ass on stages around the world: it doesn’t get any better than this. We’re looking forward to the day we can perform ‘Hosting the Shadow’ live together!” [via Consequence]

Stand Atlantic have shared a new single, ‘FRENEMIES’. The new track explores the theme of complicated friendships, as lead singer Bonnie Fraser explains: “FRENEMIES is about rocky friendships and not knowing where you stand with someone. We’ve thrown it back a lil more in this track for the OG fans stylistically but in a fresh lil way.” It’s a cut from new album WAS HERE, due August 23, which represents an evolution in Stand Atlantic’s sound, pushing into darker, heavier, and more experimental territory.
Denver based Alt Punk band HRZN (Horizon) continue to break down the stigma around mental health with the release of their new song and video for ‘Death Row.’ Pulling from the emotions of feeling stuck in an emotionally abusive relationship, ‘Death Row’ is a song about trying to free yourself at all costs. Riding a rollercoaster of exhilarating and chaotic emotions, the futuristic, eerie rock layers paired with nostalgic pop punk edge pave the way for the fifth wave of emo. Going with a ‘messier’ feel and an upbeat and melodic chorus, the track aims to accurately reflect the emotional trials and tribulations of everyday life, with the hopes to raise awareness and advocate for individuals who have been in abusive situations. The song acts as a charged vessel of emotions and pent up frustrations for the band. Having been compared to “Paramore, but harder”, the down to earth group’s name nods to a layer of positivity, showing that there will always be something brighter on the horizon. The band, who all have their individual battles with mental health (or as they like to call it, they’re neurospicy), aim to shatter the stigma and open healthy dialogues around mental health. “This song was a lot of fun to make, even if it wasn’t a fun topic to write about. The video has so much going on with all of the colors, lights and smoke. While something like that would typically be a bit overwhelming, it was actually really enjoyable and cathartic for us to put all of the energy we could into everything we were doing,” says vocalist Morgan Elizabeth.

Without darkness there can be no light, Sanguine Glacialis (ft. members of Valfreya, the Growlers Choir, The Monster Factory) have stared into the very blackest pit, and, inspired by what they saw there, forged sonic masterpieces of the darkest beauty, it is not surprising their name means ‘frozen blood’ in Latin! Now, the band has a new music video for the second single ‘Immuration’ off their forthcoming third album Maladaptive Daydreaming planned for release later this year to follow 2018’s Hadopelagic. On ‘Immuration’, the track starts with a piano/bass/drum intro before heading straight into the gang vocals chorus. It goes through different verses and choruses before ending with the most brutal breakdown on the album. “Immuration is a metaphor for being stuck inside for too long and the hatred and depression that builds up because of it. This is a very catchy song that represents the album and its concept very well, so that’s why we chose it as a single. The music video represents the story of the album, but also, as a person with mental illness myself, this song and the whole record itself allowed me to explore my struggles and express them lyrically.” adds Maude Théberge.

Butcher Babies have released the official music video for their new single, ‘Red Thunder’, which explores the band’s darker side by leaning into their thrash/djent roots with an explosive guitar solo. The clip was filmed at Cactus Joe’s in Las Vegas, Nevada and was produced, directed and edited by BUTCHER BABIES co-vocalist Heidi Shepherd. Discussing the new single’s sound, Shepherd says: “‘Red Thunder’ is a massive nod to the style and sound of our beloved first album ‘Goliath’ that launched BUTCHER BABIES into the metal stratosphere exactly a decade ago. Bringing in the groovy, guttural, thrash elements that we became known for, alongside a soaring melodic chorus, ‘Red Thunder’ culminates the dark, painful, and emotional side of the band. The song was written to remind the world that when she speaks, she speaks in Thunder!” Co-vocalist Carla Harvey lends insight into the inspiring and deeply personal meaning behind ‘Red Thunder’: “At its core, ‘Red Thunder’ is a song about giving a voice to the voiceless. But not just any voice; a cry so powerful that it shakes those that have wronged them to their core. As Heidi and I were writing the lyrics, my personal inspiration became my sister, Julia, born with microcephaly. She died very young, and I did not get the chance to know her, but I have one haunting photo of her as a baby that I brought with me to the session as inspiration. In the photo she has one arm outstretched to the camera and these beautiful piercing eyes; my heart breaks that she didn’t get to live a LIFE; but in my dreams, my father’s daughter blooms…and speaks in thunder.” [via Blabbermouth]

Swedish dark symphonic metal powerhouse ELEINE unveils their video for latest single, ‘War Das Alles,’ a very special track taken from their upcoming new full-length, We Shall Remain.’ War Das Alles’ — German for “Was this all?” – is a poem written by frontwoman Madeleine Liljestam during some dark hours. It translates into one of the most touching and intimate moments on the album. The band comments, “It all started with a poem in English, that made more sense in German and ‘War Das Alles’ came to life. In the midst of darkness, you might question yourself – was this all? Am I no more? It’s a natural question when going through something that’s too heavy for your shoulders. Before things get better – it will be heavier for a while. Whether it’s depression, a difficult task at work or a relationship… it usually gets heavier right before you reach the goal. With this single, we want to highlight that these thoughts and feelings sometimes enter your life, and that it doesn’t mean it’s the end. It’s a part of something better to come. Balance within life. Feel that you are accepted as you are with this song, that you are not alone. Embrace the very special feeling and atmosphere this chorus brings – and tomorrow might feel a bit brighter with the entire ELEINE legion supporting you.”

Forever May Fall drops ‘Afterglow’ featuring Bradley Scott. ‘Afterglow’ is an upbeat jam about really taking a careful look inside and outside of one’s situation. Whether it be love or life in general, it’s about the power of working together to come to a decision that allows both parties to become the best versions of themselves, thus finding their “Afterglow”. Musically influenced by the nostalgic 80’s pop/ballad vibe that seemed to make its comeback in late 2019; (think ‘Peach Club’ by Emarosa) it was only fitting to ask Bradley Scott to feature on the track as the male perspective.
Dutch heavy rockers WITHIN TEMPTATION have released their new single, ‘Wireless’. WITHIN TEMPTATION stated about the new track: “‘Wireless’ is a fiery and heavy song that marks the start of a new era — an era in which we keep our WT DNA alive, but build upon with contemporary bombastic riffs, breakdowns, and epic choruses. “This single takes aim at those who, hungry for war and turmoil, manipulate and control the media: ‘Wireless’ is a song about a soldier who goes to war convinced that he is going for a good cause. He’s indoctrinated by government-controlled media and thinks he’s going to be welcomed back as a savior, only to find out he has been used. This has resulted in people seeing him as a brutal conqueror instead, and now he finds himself on the wrong side. His life and the lives of many are deceived and destroyed.” [via Blabbermouth]

Young screamer Harper has unleashed a brand-new single, ‘Weight Of The World’. The 11-year-old – who released debut single ‘Falling’ in 2022 following a couple of incredibly memorable appearances on America’s Got Talent – has shared her whirlwind experiences from the past few years in the track, which was written by Brand Of Sacrifice’s Leo Valeri and features We Came As Romans’ Dave Stephens.“I’m still so new to music,” Harper explains, “and I definitely felt there was a lot of pressure on my shoulders holding the flag for heavy music on such a commercial stage last year. It’s also a very empowering song, and I really hope through my music a lot of kids my age can discover heavy music and also be inspired to make their own. It was so good to work with Leo and Dave on this song. I’m a big fan of both of their bands, so to have them be a part of this was really cool!” [via Kerrang!]

SICKSENSE have released a new music video. The new music video, for the track ‘Feed Them To The Wolves,’ is taken from the groove metal band’s upcoming new EP, Fools Tomorrow, which is scheduled to be released in June this year. Speaking about the new single, Killer V [Vicky Psarakis] says, “’Feed Them To The Wolves’ is a multifaceted song. The lyrics were written collaboratively between Rob and I, which led to that beautiful contrast. My inspiration and emotional connection to it came from my own life as a musician. Being in this industry, there’s this constant feeling that what you’re doing is never enough. From the music you’re creating to the content and interactions you have with others over social media, you’re often left feeling drained and your efforts unappreciated. In current times, people always crave more and some fans develop these parasocial relationships in their minds that come with a strong sense of entitlement. You do one thing they don’t like; you’re criticized, you say one thing they don’t like; you’re crucified, you create music that’s different from what they’re used to; you’re abandoned. All these things can cripple you emotionally and make you feel like a puppet to your audience, as you’re always trying to appease them. However, the strings are imaginary. At the end of the day what you choose to do should be your own decision. As long as you’re able to connect with and impact some people’s lives positively, what you’re doing is enough. Opening your arms to the world is a scary feeling, but every beautiful thing that comes with it is ultimately worth it.” [via Distorted Sound]
