Built around a deliciously warm, bouncy bassline, ‘dizzy’ settles into an irresistibly hypnotic groove. Funky, wah-wah-soaked guitars weave through the arrangement, accompanied by jazzy piano flourishes and a colourful wash of psychedelic-pop textures. There’s a wonderfully kaleidoscopic quality to the instrumentation, with elements of neo-soul, indie funk and dreamy pop blending effortlessly together. Alice’s soft, dreamy vocals float above the groove, adding another layer of warmth to an already inviting sound.

Rather than chasing dramatic shifts or an explosive climax, ‘dizzy’ finds its charm in letting the music breathe. The relaxed rhythm and gently swirling instrumentation create an atmosphere of carefree contentment, perfect for swaying along without a worry in the world. Like a lazy summer afternoon stretched into four glorious minutes, it’s a little slice of honey-dipped bliss.

From the inviting glow of the organ to the subtle twang of pedal steel guitar, every element feels carefully placed to create an atmosphere that’s impossible not to sink into. Alice Phoebe Lou’s beautifully understated vocal remains the emotional anchor, while the pair’s harmonies drift together so effortlessly they feel almost transcendent. The result is a gentle, swaying groove that draws as much from ’70s soft rock and psych soul as it does modern indie.

Listening to ‘think twice’ feels like being transported back to childhood summers, winding along country roads with the windows rolled down on the way to the beach as the sun pours through the car windows. It’s nostalgic without trying too hard, comforting without becoming sentimental. Beneath its laid-back exterior sits a quiet vulnerability, but strongboi never let it weigh the song down. Instead, they remind us that sometimes the warmest songs are the ones that leave just a little room for uncertainty.
