Artio release anthemic new single ‘Split Soul’

Hailing from Leeds, UK, self-produced Gen-Z quarter Artio are comprised of lead vocalist and lyricist Rae Brazill (they/them), lead guitarist Rob Arkle (he/him), rhythm guitarist Jai Akhurst (they/them), and drummer/producer Ieuan Jones (he/him). Formed in 2018, the group forge ferocious and incendiary electronica-infused alt-rock anthems taking inspiration from fellow genre-defying trailblazers Twenty One Pilots, PVRIS and Skrillex to craft their sound. The band zealously adhere to a DIY ethos – self producing all their material, directing their music videos and hand making their stage outfits.

Artio release ‘Split Soul’ as an independent, stand-alone single on the back of their EU and UK Tour with Vukovi, ahead of their festival appearances at Download, The Great Escape + Radar. This is the band’s first independent release since viral TikTok song, ‘Product Of My Own Design’.

“‘Split Soul’ explores the ideas of bodily autonomy, purpose and navigating your destiny. Toying with the ideas of divine intervention or forging your own path, the fear of the unknown and the pressure to show up regardless of the horrors in your head. In a society where you’re told anything is possible if you just believe whilst constantly being put in boxes and behind barriers for simply existing, Artio rage against the performative expectations of self expression and declares that only they are the masters of their future,” share the band.
