New Orleans-based genre bending collective Bon Bon Vivant release a new single ‘Sin Eater’ today. It’s a song of devotion inspired by the ritual and role of a Sin Eater, a member of the community who absolved the sins of the deceased by eating bread placed on the body, to symbolize consuming the sins of the dearly departed.
“We have presented a macabre love song with the concept of the Sin Eater, taking on the weight of another’s burden,” says Abigail Cosio. She illiterates the calling to go into dark depths with unflinching dedication for someone you love, “I’ll be your sin eater.”
