Burgeoning artist Grace Inspace today releases her gritty, propulsive new single ‘Emergency Contact’ alongside accompanying music video, and the announcement of her new EP Heavy Hair, out via TODO Records.
‘Emergency Contact’ is an effortlessly cool record, combined with tender, and provokingly heartfelt moments. Grace exudes grunge and glam, and immaculately depicts her genre defining style in the singer/songwriters latest single, all before the release of her upcoming EP Heavy Hair.
Speaking on the track, Grace notes: “’Emergency Contact’ is a moment of self-realization—when anger, long suppressed, finally spills over and becomes the spark for change. I used to draw girls with hair so heavy it dragged along the floor, weighed down by everything unsaid and would tell my mum my hair felt heavy with emotions. I saw those drawings again before writing this song and to me it captured how women are taught to please, to smooth over, to silence any emotion deemed ugly or excessive. The song came to life almost entirely in one night. It poured out and was one of the most liberating writing experiences I’ve had.”
