Fresh off the back of a run of sold-out headline shows in Ireland, including a stunning hometown show in Kilkenny, rising singer/songwriter Annika Kilkenny shares hypnotic new single ‘Out In The Garden’.
More expansive and experimental that her signature soothing folk balladry, ‘Out In The Garden’ is a confident step-forward for this homegrown talent. Produced by Ant Whiting (Lana Del Rey, Matt Maltese) and co-written by Emily Phillips (Florence and the Machine, Matilda Mann, SOAK), Annika is committed to taking her time when it comes to developing her art and forging a connection with her audience.
Talking about the new track Annika says “‘Out In The Garden’ plays on the idea of planting oneself, like one would a flower, in hopes that they will grow differently. It’s a song about clean slates and wanting to start again but then realising that might not be necessary as our mistakes and our past shape who we are, and it’s best to not forget those things when growing into new versions of ourselves. It’s about accepting the past and using it as a tool to shape us into the people we want to be.”
