Daisychain bring the heat on summer grunge scorcher ‘Yeah’

Chicago psych-rock trio Daisychain return with ‘Yeah’, a gritty, guitar-driven anthem that channels the spirit of ’90s grunge while injecting it with a healthy dose of defiance and attitude. Written as a tongue-in-cheek response to the heaviness of the world around us, the track transforms frustration into something cathartic, proving that sometimes the best way to protect your peace is simply to turn the volume up.

Built around a riff that immediately recalls the raw immediacy of ’90s alternative rock, ‘Yeah’ wears its grunge influences proudly. There’s even a subtle hint of Veruca Salt woven into its DNA, while the band’s blend of driving guitars and punchy rhythms gives the track an irresistible sense of momentum. Sophia Williams’ vocal performance sits at the centre of the storm, delivered with conviction and a gravelly edge that perfectly matches the song’s themes of resilience and release.

While ‘Yeah’ carries plenty of grit, it never loses its sense of fun. There’s an undeniable feeling of movement running through the track, conjuring images of endless roads and wide-open landscapes, where frustrations can be shouted into the wind and left behind. Confident, cathartic and packed with attitude, ‘Yeah’ feels like exactly the kind of song that was made to be played loud.
