Dermabrasion share new single ‘Goblin Dance’

Toronto-based duo Dermabrasion, made up of Adam Bernhardt and Kat McGouran. are set to release their debut album Pain Behaviour on Jan 26 via Hand Drawn Dracula. Now they are sharing their new single ‘Goblin Dance’, which has a sound swinging in the directions of first wave and contemporary post-punk, industrial, and NWOBHM.

A fascination with the corporeal form and the occult thread through the record. With allusions to Roman Catholicism, LaVeyan Satanism and genre fiction, the songs investigate shame, power, duty and inhabiting a human body.

Dermabrasion’s take on ‘Goblin Dance’ smacks of Godflesh with a backhand of classic hip-hop as it oscillates between acidic highs and lows. Produced by Josh Korody (Fucked Up, Nailbiter, Breeze, Beliefs, Vallens) along with the rest of forthcoming full length, the presence his expertise brings to the drum tracks hone the song’s haunting, lo-fi groove to a sharp and menacing edge.
