Today, the mighty force of London-based artist Eden Rain returns with a blissful new melancholic and heartfelt single ‘Closer’. On this intimate account of love and loss, Eden evokes a powerful sense of helplessness and pain through her songwriting, as she witnesses the effects of grief in someone she loves.

Speaking on the sentiment behind ‘Closer’, Eden shares; “It’s definitely been my most cathartic song to write- I wrote this song about my experience of loving someone who is going through grief. It’s about the feeling of someone being so close to you but unreachable at the same time, the pain of not knowing how to be around them or knowing that you’re powerless in helping them. I wrote it one afternoon with Conway (halfrhymes) and then I cried all the way home on the tube listening to the demo.”

Alongside the single’s release, Rain has shared an official music video which in true Eden Rain fashion was a DIY project, brought to life with the help of her imaginative, creative mind. Bringing light to the darkness, the visualiser acts as a gorgeous accompaniment to the song, and can be watched below.
