The modern era’s disco queen Gavin Turek has made her highly anticipated return with ‘Disco Boots’ – a dance floor smash that will be blaring through backyard poolside speakers all summer long. The Chromeo-meets-Roisin Murphy track showcases Turek’s signature dance-funk sound and ushers in a new chapter of delicious disco for the beloved LA icon. ‘Disco Boots’ will be featured on Gavin’s sophomore studio album Diva of the People, out this fall independently.
“‘Disco Boots’ is a song you listen to when you need to put on a lip, throw on your boots and go dancing to shake off a relationship,” says Gavin. “It was the last song I wrote for the new album — it was that missing piece, connecting the sonics of disco and funk in a way that was both familiar and undeniably fresh. Strangely, the title of the song came first! I was already planning to host a disco/house themed party and was in the midst of figuring out a name for it. ‘Disco Boots’ as a party sounded nostalgic and fun! So when I heard the track from the one and only Art of Tones (the iconic, French, disco/house DJ and producer) I immediately thought it had to be ‘Disco Boots’.”
