London-based singer-songwriter Hohnen Ford releases her second single ‘Send Me A Sign’ and announces her debut EP Infinity will be released on the October 28 via Young Poet, having already release the EP’s title track in July.
Infinity was written and produced by Hohnen Ford herself, features writing collaborations with Matt Maltese, and was mixed by Tom Carmichael (Matt Maltese, Porridge Radio, Wu-Lu).
‘Send Me A Sign’ is evidence of a prodigious songwriting and vocal talent; coupling delicate piano arrangements with Ford’s achingly sincere and romantic lyrical style, her reflections on the unpredictability of early adulthood are both humorous (“I’m a puppy at life / Like a bull in a china shop trying to survive”) and heartfelt (“It’s scary to feel so pathetic I’m sure that I’ll wreck it before we could let it grow strong”) in equal measure.
Speaking more on the lyrical inspiration of new single, Hohnen Ford said: “I wrote tens of verses for this song, examples of things I felt/ feel useless at – like getting things right. I’ve always felt so messy in love and life, this is a reflection of the rollercoaster that is being in your early twenties.”
