Just A Leo releases their final single of the year, ’28. I Promise’

Just A Leo are reflecting on their relationship with their new song ’28. I Promise’.

Inspired by the groove laden basslines of Chicago House (Channel Tres) and the weird swagger of Genesis Owusu, ’28. I Promise’ is both a celebration of Andie and Kalliope’s 7 year long relationship and a meditation on what it takes to make it work

Sure, Just A Leo is committing the cardinal sin of mixing work and love, but they’ve somehow made it work for years with just 7 words: “I promise I won’t let you down.” But what’s a promise? For Just A Leo, it’s an ideal to aim for. It’s acknowledging that relationships take real work, and that you’re willing to put the effort in.

“We’ve had to compromise so many things about ourselves to better serve the other person. I do a bad thing, I get called out, I change my behaviour. She does something bad, I call her out, she changes her behaviour,” says Andie, reflecting on their 7 years together. “So far it’s worked. We started out with terrible communication but managed to build this beautifully fulfilling relationship that other people seem to be jealous of.”
