The new single by alternative Danish pop artist Polly is buzzing with a liberating Thelma & Louise type-energy!
“I was in the middle of a huge heartbreak, completely devastated and consumed with sorrow, when I saw the movie, Thelma & Louise, one night. I remember I went to bed and got up the next day, overwhelmed by a strong, powerful energy and desire to just run away, without looking back, to escape from what once was and to be together with those who really matter to me,” Polly says.
‘Eyes on the Road’ marks both a personal and musical new beginning for the 28-year-old Danish singer and songwriter who made her debut with the album, Invitation, in 2022. With the release of her new single, Polly invites the listener into a more energetic and outgoing universe. Her voice is crystal clear on big guitar chords that melt with 90s synth sounds and empowering cheerleader choirs, while the acoustic drums drive the alt-pop harmonies forward.
She continues, “For me, road tripping has always been a very special, intimate space. ‘Eyes on the Road’ enters this space. It’s about having renewed faith in tomorrow and all the adventures that are waiting to be explored. It’s about friendship and how this particular space between two people can make everyday worries disappear while some of the most meaningful conversations happen.”
