Kit Major shares new single ‘Sponge’

Last month, LA rocker Kit Major announced her newest EP, Love.Sick.Major. The announcement came on the heels of the resounding success of her single ‘Let Me In Your Band,’ and alongside her high-energy single ‘Garbage Planet.’

Now, she is releasing the newest single from her EP, ‘Sponge.’ Clocking in at just under two minutes, it packs a 90’s grungy punch, immediately kicked off by the gritty guitar riff and crashing drums. “‘Sponge’ is a song full of grit and glitter,” Kit says. “It’s made for flipping over tables and maybe cleaning up the aftermath.”

“When I was first writing ‘Sponge’, it was melodic and a little mindless, but somewhat poetic,” Kit recalls. “I wasn’t trying to dig too deep, but then the song grew into a bigger concept of absorption: either people absorbing me or me absorbing others. Being a sponge isn’t necessarily a good or bad thing.”
