Mall Girl return with new single ‘All I Should Have Said’

Oslo pop experimentalists Mall Girl return with new single ‘All I Should Have Said’, the first taste of the follow up to the band’s acclaimed 2022 debut album Superstar.

‘All I Should Have Said’ teases the trio’s second body of work, due for release in 2024 via Jansen Records. Deftly highlighting both their versatility as a unit, as well as their respective strengths as musicians in their own right (the band all moonlight in jazz and metal collectives across Oslo), ‘All I Should Have Said’ is a tantalising return.

Vocalist Bethany Forseth-Reichberg’s voice is poised and delicate, with her reflections on honesty drifting over Veslemøy Narvese’s jazz flecked percussion and Iver Armand Tandsether’s intricate math-rock-influenced guitars.

Of the new single’s lyrical inspiration, the band shared: “Have you ever felt like you should pour your heart out to someone? Strip open your soul, tell your darkest secrets and just say it all. Just shout “I REALLY, REALLY LIKE YOU” and get it out of your system? But you end up saying; nothing? It’s relatable and it’s this song in a nutshell.”
